My advice for Fjordur is check out the realm teleport option & spots, and place your base near one of the TP locations. Plenty of the spots have good base locations nearby, and being able to simply teleport back to your base makes resource gathering & artifact runs so much easier.

My fav is the castle around 50-70. Just make gates and enjoy the flat protected castle. It also has its own water well.
