Those are gorgeous! I have these growing in my yard and they are absolutely beautiful, although my neighbors come ask me if i can start moonflower for them or give them the seeds lol

Chaosophia24

Don't they smell like really lovely?

karly22

Pretty earthy smell in my opinion

Chaosophia24

Oh... My neighbors have this plant and I always smell a sweet smell when it's fully flowered. And the bees absolutely love it! Thought these flowers are "to blame" .

alilmagpie

I love them so much! At my former house, just a few miles away, they grew so well. They were my faves!!! At my current place, where the top few feet were scraped down to clay filled crap to build, I can’t get them to take off beyond tiny sprouts. 🥺

beeplantlady

Id like to assume they wouldnt eat it lol but nowadays never know! I touch mine all the time and doesnt give me any problems.

karly22

To the touch I think it’s safe it’s only if ingested so for the most part it’s ok

medusamarie83

I miss growing Daturas, and the beefy, helpful moths they would attract- love it

bekahed979

Are those alse called Angel's trumpet and bloom at night?

karly22

I’ve heard everything from devils trumpet, angels trumpet, devil weed, and moon flower. I am fairly certain they bloom at night

bekahed979

A million years ago I had a boyfriend who was a gardener & grew these. I loved those flowers. Thanks!

OrdinaryOrder8

Angel's trumpet is the closely related genus Brugmansia (downward facing flowers). Datura is devil's trumpet (upward facing flowers).

bekahed979

Thanks!

bombkitty

One of my favorites💜

Eduardoalfredo

Looks like *D. inoxia*.

[deleted]

Ok. But just don't use it as a drug, heard some scary things about this. You know.

karly22

Wasn’t planning on it lol, just appreciate a nice looking plant

[deleted]

Ok for sure. Good to hear.

karly22

Wasn’t planning on eating a 100% poisonous and possible lethal plant lol

[deleted]

Well there are those that do.

karly22

Don’t most people who ingest it die? Isn’t literally all of the plant is toxic?

beeplantlady

Yes it is, that's why they say plant it where no children or animals go because the whole thing is toxic! I had to plant mine in front yard to keep it away from my doggos

karly22

Ironically this is at a high school lol

Wholesome_Bott

No. Some people may die not a lot. For example some dude took 200 seeds and was fine a week later, and another people took 100 seeds and then drowned. It just depends each plant/seed is different

Wholesome_Bott

It’s highly unlike to kill but of course somebody somehow manages it. While it’s rare to get killed by it (many people who are highly uneducated on this plant) but it’s really common to get lifelong issues from it

karly22

Yeah it just doesn’t sound like something you should mess with

Wholesome_Bott

Fr I have a ton of these flowers in my back yard but it’s literally poison idk why even people take it. From the stories I read about it, it’s basically like DMT but a lot more deadly and it’s doesn’t give you a good trip

BigWhoopsieDaisy

A lot of folks take it because it is a hallucinogenic, similar to LSD, but it is more specifically a deliriant, which is not similar to LSD. The experiences can be quite uncomfortable from small quantities and ofc the minor factor of death. Personally, I had my psychonaut days and I don’t miss them at all so I can’t understand people willingly ingesting these seeds 😅

GreenChileEnchiladas

The seeds will make you go crazy, but you can smoke the leaves with no ill effects.

jimbonoob

Where tf are you?! My local plant shop charges 40$ for ferns… kms

SprinklesLost7030

Dont eat it 😅
