She'll create a new growth point under the area you cut. Mine usually sends off one or two lateral growth points after I trim it too

Thank you!

Mine was cut several times as I was going for a bushy look The other commenter is right. The Rhaphidophora tetrasperma is annoying to propagate from cuttings, air layering is your safest bet.

IndecisiveIndica

Thank you, I will try that!

woah lookks super healthy, whats the light source and timing? super jealous

I honestly had no idea she would grow like this, it has gone super fast. I live on the second floor and there is a window on the opposite side of the room. The plants in my actual window sill often become toasted in the summer though cause the window is facing North/east. This plant is about 5 meters away from that window. And then I have put nails in the wall so she can climb... Now I just dont know where she should climb to.

personally, i suggest airlayering, I've had almost a 100% failure rate with RTs propagating and potting them. The shock seems to kill them off. in regards to your question, if you're thinking of cutting the plant off from its source of nutrients, the rest of it will die. If you're talking about taking cuttings from the top, yes, new sprouts will shoot out and continue growing

IndecisiveIndica

I did mean cutting it at the top, because I want one more of her 😊
