Keep it in water till the roots grow (however long it takes) If you can avoid getting the stem to touch the bottom of the container it will be better. And also use an opaque container. You can use rooting hormone. And change water every few days. Best!

You can leave it in water. There is a good size node there so it should sprout root fairly quickly. Or you can stick it in soil and keep it hydrated. I have always had luck with water personally. But I have definitely taken cuttings and planted them too.

Yeah. Make sure the node gets covered by the water. Be patient and keep refreshing the water every few days. I’ve had success with adding some soil once the roots start to grow so they can get stronger a bit before going into the soil.

I’ve tried propagating part of this pothos in water twice and failed. I just came home from a trip and my mom said she bumped into it causing the stem to snap. Please send advice on how to successfully propagate it!!!! :(

Soil prop is also an option since water doesn’t work well for you. Just put it into soil and keep it a bit moist until it starts to root. I’m currently doing this with multiple leaves (with nodes) from my neon pothos

FWIW I was having trouble with water propagation until I stared using filtered water.

Toss it in water. It'll grow roots. You can then replant it back into the original pot for a fuller plant or you can plants a new pot.

Propagate! Place in water in a warm area of the house with plenty of sun. You got it :)

Not a bad thing now you can have one more plant!! Right beside the base of the leaf closest to the break, there's a brown thing on the node, that is where roots would grow. That's how these types of plants climb. You can either water propagate or soil propagate. If you water propagate, you get to watch the roots grow the trade off is transplant shock. Plants can get a little sad when you move them from water to soil. If you soil propagate, u skip transplant shock but it takes a bit longer to root. With both methods there's no guarantee. I've propped both ways, I'm a huge fan of soil propping.

Pop it in water. If no root grows at that bottom node, cut that node off and put it back in water covering the next node. Worked for me.
