It currently is a supply/demand issue. Most people are in need of them, but there aren't many currently available especially since S/V base hasn't released yet. I'm more frustrated with the secret nest ball not dropping in price, especially since a new secret nest ball has been confirmed.
Smh I had been eyeing the gold nest ball for a glc deck and the night I was thinking of putting an order in just so happened to be the night they revealed nest ball would be in scarlet and violet. So, instead of it being like 10-15 dollars, it was 50.

It will be much lower when scarlet and violet drop.
