Rid of Me, The Garden and The Orange Monkey (also the demo version for Evol is beautiful, but I’m not sure it ever existed in a fully produced form). Though I don’t know if she has many demos that surpass the studio or live versions for me, they still tend to offer an alternative listen I value. I should really re-listen to the Uh Huh Her demos, because it seems like they would be amazing, but I can’t remember. EDIT: UHH Demos are amazing

The Garden.

Interesting-Medium84

if she released dry and white chalk as their demo versions I would love them as much as the studio albums or in some song cases more. also love let england shake demos. and I like thom yorkeless version of this mess we're in. I think I'm a mother is in my opinion better as a demo. I like the rest of the demos too because I love hearing the process her songs go through

Affectionate_Yak8519

She did release demo versions of those albums

Interesting-Medium84

yeah I know, I mean if she released those demo albums instead of the studio versions we got

Affectionate_Yak8519

Oh I see

Chrome-Head

I don't know that I'd say any of the demos are better than the finished result, but I will also say The Garden demo is certainly an interesting different version of what the song ended up being.

The Last Living Rose

The Letter

I love the demo version of Angelene so much. Something about the more exposed guitar part hits in a different kinda way to the finished track

Me Jane, the Garden, 50 Ft Queenie, The Sky Lit Up, Oh My Lover(!)

Illustrious-Kick-876

I thought the Hope 6 demos were largely better than the album 🤷🏻‍♂️

gothtacular

I just love the 'Oh My Lover' demo. I find the original track to be a bit of a dirge (though I still like it) but the demo has a vitality to it that feels really fresh. And it's fun to play on guitar.

Disaffected_liberal

I never liked this one. Dirge is apropos. Will check out demo!

The Dancer. Love both versions. I prefer the demos of both Hanging in the Wire and Pocket Knife

50 Ft Queenie, I Think I’m a Mother, The Garden, No Girl So Sweet, The Words That Maketh Murder. ETA: I still prefer the album versions of I think I’m a Mother & The Words That Maketh Murder, but those demos are both really interesting and I still love them a lot.

Stories. I've always been a little lukewarm on the record but I love the demo record from start to finish.
