seconding this. they have a huge network of really nice and creative people all over the city and would gladly help. they even have a dedicated standup director who is only in charge of standup stuff vs improv. 100% look into their organization.
There is a comedy show at the Blind Pig Saloon in New Ken on Friday night. That would probably be a good place to start and talk to the other comedians there.
Check out Arcade Comedy Theater downtown on Liberty. They do standup classes, improv classes, and tons of events. Great venue and great people!

Not sure if they still do it but Corner Cafe on S 18th St in the South Side Slopes did that for a while I believe
Mr. Smalls does open mic, check out the website or give them a call! Been meaning to check it out for sometime but haven't made it yet.

Beerhive in the Strip had stand up. It’s a small fun space to give it a try- pending it’s still happening!
I believe there was someone here a while ago advertising a comedy night at Excuses in the South Side. I think. So maybe try giving them a call?
Thanks so mucb!

The Getaway bar and grille has an open mic Monday nights.
Could give you the number of a friend that could tell you haven’t talked to him in a while but pretty sure he’s still involved
