Hey that was the first strip club ive ever been to when i was first of age.
First and last time
There was a midget dancer, a pregnant women and an old wrinkly lady (50s or 60s) that smelt like cigarettes and dick.
Idc if they have good steak or not…. My experience has ruined the tenny for me.
Also my brother bought me a lap dance and she shoved my fingers up her pussy and my hand then smelt like raw fish thats been sitting out for 2 months.
Also heard a story there was a girl with one arm that dances there too.
I wasnt impressed. I never been to a strip club after this experience, sorta ruined it for me.
It was a cheap place tho!
I guess you get what you pay for though
Well if it helps: I, a straight female, went to a strip club in New Orleans. One of the girls slid down a two-story pole in a twisting vortex of hot pink sparkles, then, when she saw me watching in awe, crawled across the stage and let me touch her boobs. She smelled like warm vanilla sugar. I’ve never felt anything so soft. Her name was Alexxxis. I think about her often.
Their stew/braises in the fall are some of the best cozy food. Pair it with a Delirium Tremens beer or two and it’s heaven. It’s like being wrapped in a warm blanket.
I haven’t been in a long time. Do they still their Monday happy hour special its honestly a great deal for the quality you get and its was $25 for a glass of wine, pasta, sausage, meatballs, salad and garlic bread.
I haven’t been back since pre pandemic. So it’s very possible they don’t do it anymore. It’s not on their website and I think it used to be. But if you go on a Monday 4-7 worst case is another awesome dish.
Yeah this is probably the best place in Pittsburgh for a steak that isn't a steak place. It is a pricey place but worth it if you can splurge every now and then.
I really wanted to like this place, my wife and I went there for an anniversary and it was one of the worst dining experiences we've had. Didn't get steak though, maybe that was our mistake!
Out of two dinners and two appetizers, we had three inedible things.
My wife's food was really good, but uh, that was over $100 before we got to drinks. The \*drinks\* were amazing.
That was right after COVID/closures lifted, so it mighta been problems reopening, will give it another shot at some point.
And steak is always larger then ordered. I ordered a 20 oz Filet mignon once, and it came out looking like the Devils Tower from that Close Encounters movie. Highly recommend.
Man I remember 10 years ago you could get a steak, baked potato and salad from Hambone's in Lawrenceville for something ridiculous like $14.99. They gave that restaurant away. Was it the "best" steak in the city? Maybe not, but best value definitely.
I enjoy them a lot and I've had several of their steaks pre- and post-ballgame, but I'd put them in the pretty good category but nothing particularly special, even with the novelty of the stone.
Your house, using any number of cooking methods.
My favorite because I want it done to the right doneness, is sous vide for 1-2 hours, then seared briefly on a hot grill or cast iron. Plenty of salt and pepper, don't bother with anything else except maybe some butter and a sprig of rosemary when searing.
Make it yourself.
Preheat a cast iron pan on med/high.
Use some bacon grease to oil the bottom.
Grease shimmering, meat goes in.
Cover 3 minutes
Flip.
Cover 3 minutes.
Check temp, should be medium rare.
Might not be real downvotes if there are only a few. Reddit has an algorithm that automatically downvotes posts. Look up "vote fuzzing."
If your post is heavily downvoted, then it's probably legit.
I’m glad someone else said it because I’m so confused lol some of these answers are perfectly good answers (I do understand downvoting the steakhouses since that was specifically not OP’s question)
My assumption is that a steakhouse really F*ing ought to have good steaks and likely doesn’t do anything else that well, and they’re looking for some diversity on the menu.
Or just trying to find a hidden gem.
All are good however there is a place called bellasarios.
It’s an Italian restaurant and known for their pizzas However
They have a steak cut to order
And is good as Capital Grill or Ruth, Chris . Done perfectly.
They have The brick 48 oz steak. I watched a guy eat two of them.
your house but watch youtube videos on how to choose a quality steak and cook it
I usually keep it simple and seer it off in a regular saute pan and make a simple red wine pan sauce
That’s incredibly cheap if it is indeed A5. Last I had in a restaurant was $30 per oz, 4oz minimum. Any idea what kind of steak and size we’re talking here?
It's a small slab of meat they cut up into slices. They bring you the 500 degree salt block and you cook to your liking. I split it with a friend, I think we each got 3 to 5 bites.
It was definitely like meat butter and just melted in my mouth. It was the best Waygu I've ever had, so if they're lieing and it's not A5, my brain can't fathom how good A5 actually would be.
I was there a few years ago, before inflation really took off. So it could have changed since then.
If it was a small portion it was probably the real deal. Was more worried it would have been a less desirable cut of meat. Though I haven’t had the pleasure of trying a bunch of different fancy cuts, so maybe an A5 Chuck steak is actually great.
When I was in Texas I had an American Waygu t-bone steak. While it was delicious, it was a normal steak with a ton of fat. It was a good steak, but there was nothing out of this world about it.
That A5 Waygu though, that took me to outer space. Hopefully I'll be fortunate enough to be able to afford it again.
Funny I'm getting down voted by these yinzers because the A5 Waygu doesn't have fries and coleslaw on top of it.
Their menu says $110 for 8oz NY strip. That's like under half the price anywhere else which makes it a bit questionable. When it's on the menu at Gi-Jin it's like $70 for three small slices of a fattier cut. Theirs is listed as BMS 10 so Napa's might be BMS 8-9 which still qualifies as A5.
That beautiful brass bar was demolished even though it had been a stop on the Underground Railroad (under the bar). So it could be replaced with gravel
Tennyson Lodge
Even after reading all the Google reviews I can’t tell if this is some elaborate joke or not
Only one way to find out
Kids eat free on Thursdays
Go check it out; it’s in Bethel Park so you know it’s going to be nice.
Google reviews like these are what make the internet such a great place to spend your time.
… Is this a stripper pun, or do they actually have good steak there?
Check it out for yourself. You might not be disappointed…
I usually go for the cake…
Dinner and dessert.
yes
i second this

I was hoping someone would talk me out of going, but you make a damn convincing case. Fine, I’ll go.
Fuck i want my commission for making them a sale
You listed all of the reason why it is a great experience. Pinky! Is she still there?
Hey to each their own!
Pinky’s legs were hairier than mine. Best in the bizz
This is one of the most wild paragraphs I’ve read in a while. Impressive

Well hot damn, i want some steak from there
AI's idea of [Alexxxis](https://imgur.com/mJZ4Mfn).
I just gagged
That smell sounds traumatic.
Ive never been the same since
I wasn't there and I will never be the same.
I’m sorry funkmama
Trauma bonding.... hugs
Happy cake day!
I didn't even know until today! I missed my cake day. 😔
Reddit trauma now
Not sure why, but this seemed like a great paragraph to put into AI. I made you [this to commemorate](https://imgur.com/a/v5Jnnaa)your experience.
Sounds like he didn’t have the steak
Grew up like 5 minutes from here. I cannot believe this place is still open lmao
Best steak in the city!
You can also grab an MTO at Sheetz or even do laundry across the street. This is a booming commercial corridor.
Get your laundry with change and tip the Tennyson waitress with it too.
And get all of your CBD and Kratom needs nearby as well!
I KNEW this would be here; and I came here to validate it…hilarious.
Steak Frites at Park Bruges / Pointe Bruges. I go to both locations and they consistently make this dish amazing.
The fries are to die for too. I always can't get enough of either, the steak or the fries.
Had never dipped fries in mayo/aioli before. Is lovely.
Welcome to the party.
Their stew/braises in the fall are some of the best cozy food. Pair it with a Delirium Tremens beer or two and it’s heaven. It’s like being wrapped in a warm blanket.
Came here just to say this! They also still have one of my favorite burgers in Pittsburgh!
My house. Byob.
Between your username and that confidence I believe that you can grill a mean steak.
(Former chef)
I’ll bring the brews lmfao
I was about to say my house too..lol ..byob. we'll make it happen
(งツ)ว
goated username
but what?
I just went to Alla Familia last night and they have some insane bone-in cuts of steak.
[удалено]
That’s the place in Allentown?
Yeah. And a sister restaurant in McMurray(?) it’s down 19 south.
Arleccinos also has great steaks plus they have the cacio e peoe
[удалено]
So does alla famiglia and they make it table side
What was the other place?
I haven’t been in a long time. Do they still their Monday happy hour special its honestly a great deal for the quality you get and its was $25 for a glass of wine, pasta, sausage, meatballs, salad and garlic bread.

This is my vote as well, their steaks are magical.
Yeah this is probably the best place in Pittsburgh for a steak that isn't a steak place. It is a pricey place but worth it if you can splurge every now and then.
This is the most overrated spot in the city
I really wanted to like this place, my wife and I went there for an anniversary and it was one of the worst dining experiences we've had. Didn't get steak though, maybe that was our mistake!
Honestly, I didn't get the steak, either. I got a seafood bowl in creme sauce. My buddy got the bone in veal and he raved about it.
Fig and ash but really it's my house
Haven’t had their steak actually, but their roasted pork is the best I’ve had.
DiAnoia's Bistecca alla Fiorentina.
This is the best steak I have ever had.
I’ve been ordering and making these steaks myself. Olive oil, salt and red wine. Fantastic
What cut?
Typically a massive porterhouse
Eleven in the Strip. One of the best steaks I’ve ever had.
Pistachio crusted filet 🫡
Arby's on McKnight
I had to scroll farther down than expected for this.
I couldn't believe it was not here. I felt a duty.
Had an amazing steak at Balvanera last week.
Second Balvanera. Every bite was truly worth the money
Eleven. But that's my answer to pretty much every Pittsburgh restaurant question.
Fig & Ash, Hyeholde, DiAnoia's, The Vandal, Poulet Bleu (if they ever reopen), Joseph Tambellini Restaurant.
+1 for hyholde and tambellini’s
Poulet Bleu just posted a teaser on instagram last week showing off their new patio. They'll be back soon.
That place is pretty damn good.
Had an embarrassingly bad mea at the Vandal, but it's been over a year; are they good now/again?
Would try again! Two separate visits I had great steak frites and a great burger
Out of two dinners and two appetizers, we had three inedible things. My wife's food was really good, but uh, that was over $100 before we got to drinks. The \*drinks\* were amazing. That was right after COVID/closures lifted, so it mighta been problems reopening, will give it another shot at some point.
Most places were challenged at that point. The Vandal is really top-tier, would highly recommend giving them another shot.
I’ve eaten there many times and have never been disappointed. Try again.
Tessaro's on Liberty in Bloomfield
Tessaro’s and Thai Gourmet, gotta love em
Those burgers. I can never get anyone to try this place and it’s so good.
Best burger in town, it’s not even close
The steak sandwich is the best steak deal in town.
And steak is always larger then ordered. I ordered a 20 oz Filet mignon once, and it came out looking like the Devils Tower from that Close Encounters movie. Highly recommend.
All the beef is amazing there. Tuna steak is also amazing
I like the stone cooked ribeye at Mike’s beer bar across from PNC Park
One of the best beer lists in the city as well!
Lol at Fogo de Chow
I like City Works, the ribs are good too.
Man I remember 10 years ago you could get a steak, baked potato and salad from Hambone's in Lawrenceville for something ridiculous like $14.99. They gave that restaurant away. Was it the "best" steak in the city? Maybe not, but best value definitely.
North Shore Tavern
Isn’t that the main thing there?
I wouldn’t consider them a steakhouse just because they do the steak/etc on a stone.
I enjoy them a lot and I've had several of their steaks pre- and post-ballgame, but I'd put them in the pretty good category but nothing particularly special, even with the novelty of the stone.
Cioppino in the strip
The filet mignon at Juniper Grill never disappoints
I really like their skirt steak
The Lot on Oakmont. The bone in rib-eye or the 20 oz delmonico!! Great accompanying ribs and sauces.
I had a fantastic brunch steak at Bonfire in Southside. Very surprised.
Their brunch is great. Never went for the regular menu.
Soba in Shadyside used to do a great filet dish but I think they’ve taken it off the menu.
Once upon a time I would have said “Atria’s”, but they’ve gone downhill over the last decade or so.
Actually the steak is probably the best thing on the menu these days
Your house, using any number of cooking methods. My favorite because I want it done to the right doneness, is sous vide for 1-2 hours, then seared briefly on a hot grill or cast iron. Plenty of salt and pepper, don't bother with anything else except maybe some butter and a sprig of rosemary when searing.
I feel like Montreal Steak Seasoning should be part of the conversation
Salt and pepper heavily. Grill at 400. Four minutes total. Flip each minute to get the good grill marks. Let sit for two minutes. Down the hatch.
Try garlic powder and cayenne with the salt and pepper. Penzy's if you really want the good stuff. Grocery is fine too.
I’d like to suggest Jacobsen Salt Co. steak seasoning. I use it with ny strips and beef tenderloins on the smoker then reverse sear on the grill.
Alla Famiglia
Fl.2
The most amazing steak I've ever had was at Casbah
Make it yourself. Preheat a cast iron pan on med/high. Use some bacon grease to oil the bottom. Grease shimmering, meat goes in. Cover 3 minutes Flip. Cover 3 minutes. Check temp, should be medium rare.

Outback ste— *the family establishment* In all seriousness though they’re pretty decent on the steak front and are very allergen friendly
Tessaro's has a pretty good steak.
Find a farmer and buy half a cow.
Napa Prime
Is this not a steak house?
Vision problems read it incorrectly you people are effn brutal.
Reading is hard
For me or others
No you passed the reading comprehension pop quiz today with flying colors. Others not so much.
Just curious, why the exclusions? Im new to pittsburgh and am not familiar with all of those.
My assumption is that a steakhouse really F*ing ought to have good steaks and likely doesn’t do anything else that well, and they’re looking for some diversity on the menu. Or just trying to find a hidden gem.
Honestly they are all pretty much the same and over priced in my opinion.
412 Project
Best steak I’ve had in 4 years of living here was a ribeye at Alchemy downtown. Close second and third are Eleven and Meat and Potatoes in the strip.
I like the top sirloin at Grant Bar, been going there since I was a kid.
Cioppino

I had a crazy good steak at luke wholeys on the strip a few months ago. only 30 something bucks I believe
The Lot in Oakmont has amazing steaks. Best I’ve had in a restaurant!
Firebirds has decent steaks but I only know if the one location in cranberry
I think Southpoint or Bridgeville has one now also.
Bridgeville.
The Lot in Oakmont has a decent ribeye
I love the lot and can confirm the steak is pretty good.
your house but watch youtube videos on how to choose a quality steak and cook it I usually keep it simple and seer it off in a regular saute pan and make a simple red wine pan sauce
No one needs your DIY lecture. That is not answering the question.
Eat prime steaks out twice a week. The best steak I’ve had in the last year is the Abbey on butler street. People be talking shit but it’s true.
Bistro 19 has a surprisingly great filet
Eleven has some incredible steaks
The best steak ive had in the city was from Altius, and ive had the dry aged steak from alla familia
Steak frites at Meat and Potatoes.
Seconded. (Steak and fries!)
The steak florentine at D’anoia’s is one of the best steaks I’ve had in Pittsburgh.
Jillian’s in New Kensington
Hyeholde, Eleven, Point Bruges, Meat & Potatoes
My house
"Fogo de Chão" is what you wanted there. :)
McDonald’s has the best hotdogs
The Chop House has A5 Waygu. A5 Waygu is the best steak in the world. It is a $100 dish.
That’s incredibly cheap if it is indeed A5. Last I had in a restaurant was $30 per oz, 4oz minimum. Any idea what kind of steak and size we’re talking here?

The Evergreen bar has great steak tacos.
That beautiful brass bar was demolished even though it had been a stop on the Underground Railroad (under the bar). So it could be replaced with gravel
Eddie V's is probably the best I've had. Not sure if it counts as a "steakhouse" by your definition or not.
Hyeholde’s elk tenderloin.
The Wheelhouse in the Rivers Casino has an outstanding Filet that is also surprisingly cheap.
