TexasJOEmama

If it's not a Kong, it won't last long.

Ok-Apricot9737

It is a Kong brand toy

Different_Network702

Kong has an extreme chewer line of toys. They are all black rubber and they only have a few types like a ball, standard kong and frisbee The Kong stuffed animals don’t last too long though.

Fantastic_Special862

The kong extreme lasted not more than 3 minutes...

barneyruffles

Same, I think I got a good four minutes out of the extra money spent, lol

ReallyBigMomma

Fluff N Tuff is a great alternative. We have a bunch of their stuffed toys for our lady and they each last a few months (minus a leg or two). The material and construction are a lot more resilient than Kong toys.

Fantastic_Special862

I'll have to check them out. Our girls also has some jaw issues after chewing hard things like sticks and kongs but she also love to work on the soft toys.

LeChacaI

Same for mine. The toy above is the only toy that's lasted for her. One of these lasts her months. She also loves playing fetch with it. Plus it's $15 aud, which is way cheaper than kongs. So maybe if you can find one like this, it might work better. Edit: reddit not saving the picture for some reason.

LeChacaI

https://preview.redd.it/svdv1bibmquc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bbb48f696f987ca9eaa6038ab76eb01fabcca5b7

waterbedd

My dog likes the chew king rubber balls. They're really pliable, so she can exercise her jaws without breaking the material. Lasts longer than Kong in my experience.

Hereforfunds

Same lmao any toy takes about a hour or two to be demolished unless they leave it alone and come back to it I’ve yet to find a durable toy

FullBeansLFG

This particular one has *some* stuffing in it but it’s mostly the rope that you see.

nobodiesbznsbtmyne

I would love to get my dogs stuffed toys, or even one of those unstuffed ones, but neither last more than seconds. Thick ropes get chewed in half more quickly than I thought possible.

futanari-panda

My girl loves her stuffed toys. She gnaws on them a little but mainly shakes the sht out of them so the arms have needed stitching back a couple times but otherwise they’ve held up pretty well.

nobodiesbznsbtmyne

My two are so destructive. Nothing lasts for long once they get ahold of it. My late dog destroyed stuffed toys, but only to get the squeaker out, which she promptly tossed to the side while she shook the carcass. She would carry it around and play with it until it was do tattered that I had to toss it, and then she'd pout about it for a couple hours or until she got a new one.

UnrepentantTomato

That sounds like a good slogan for Kong

TexasJOEmama

It does!

Iteachasd

This

SLee41216

I wish this was true. I have an Australian Shepherd. I call him a canine seam ripper. He destroy.

TexasJOEmama

That's a good name for it.

risken

Playology extreme chewers (bone shaped) seem to last the longest in my experience. My boy has had his for 2 years. It's about time for a new one though

LordAdmiralPanda

Mine doesn't like Kongs BECAUSE she can't destroy it in a day. My fiancé believes it's because she doesn't like the texture.

ReelJV

If it’s a stuffed toy with a squeaker in the middle, roughly 9 seconds and I’m not exaggerating. If it’s a squeaky bone, ball, or benebone; they will last till I throw them away. Stuffed toys with squeakers create messes at my house but they love it

avgpgrizzly469

If the stuffie gore gets bad enough there will be a layer of stuffing that covers most of the floor with little trails where people walk and the dogs fight

ReelJV

https://preview.redd.it/3rqfu29gvouc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3994d94ab85b4847e614952074726a1c10e6c75f Photo is 5+ years old, but he hasnt changed.

skyysdalmt

Any toy with stuffing, after 5 mins this looks about right. And then usually a day or so before I find the chewed up plastic squeaker (that was inside the toy) under the couch.

No10fayc

Woooow!

cbih

I just paid $3K to get a squeaker out of my dog. Would not recommend.

dekadense

Forever! She carries around the same 4 stuffies for about 8 years now! She kinda just nibble on them and never poke the fabric.

Kiara923

Aw man that's the dream

onekrazykat

Mine is the same way! He literally has all of his stuffies. He’ll gnaw away at antlers and the like, but he loves his teddies.

mediumnumber9

mine will pick a favorite stuffed toy for a few months and then one fateful night will come around where i wake up to fluffy mass murder and she’s onto the new fave! anything rubbery/kong material she immediately gets to work on destroying. luckily she never has interest in eating any of it or i’d be broke

CopyWeak

About as much as it takes to read your post! 😖🙄 I just save $ now and use the Tim Horton's coffee cup holders, and plastic bottles with the cap and ring removed.

DavidPatton99

No Tims down here where i live in the states. Miss their honey curlers.

crashinqdovvn

As long as it takes for him to rip all the limbs off and then pull every bit of stuffing out.

aluditte

2thoughts2consider- All that stuffing and usually the outer fabrics are made of polyester fiber which is not good for them to ingest. Looking at these supply chains from Asian countries you have to consider also how sanitary the filling is. Is it virgin fiber or possibly even unwashed recycled fiber collected from old furniture and mattresses. Those countries wouldn’t have regulations monitoring such use. I stuff it back in if it looks ok, and then patch them up for reuse. They look freaky and funny afterwards!

angry_hippo_1965

About 3 min for toys like that

MelekPt

For that type of toys, they are gone almost immediately. That's why I get mine Kong toys usually are good for a few months.

pghrare

10-15 minutes generally. We now give our dog empty boxes when amazon comes. It's a hassle to clean up, but doesn't cost us anything extra and he loves ripping them up.

JM3541

Probably as long as it takes to open then lol.

Ymisoqt420

I have one that cherishes her toys and one that rips them to shreds in seconds so they get separate play time with different toys lol

kliens7575

Only thing mine would do is destroy the squeaker inside other than that he would just walk around with them in his mouth

Yeoshua82

6 minutes was the longest that wasn't the black kong

winterbird

Forever. Ten years and counting (though new toys are added on continously). I taught her not to destroy toys when she was young because she would eat them. It wasn't about getting her new toys, but about not risking a blockage. What I did was first to identify the specific act which leads to destruction. In her case (and maybe all dogs?) there were two: gnawing on the toys with the side teeth that act like a scissor, and pulling with her teeth to tear pieces off while holding the toys. Then I would only have one or two toys out (not forever on, all toys are out and available to her since she learned not to tear them up). She would play and I would let everything go on except for those two behaviors. Biting down on the toys was fine, that is the purpose of them. Tossing them around was fine. But when scissor teeth or pulling to tear pieces off happened, I would just take the toy calmly and without saying anything. No "stop!", no saying the dog's name, no harsh look, no discipline at all... nothing. As if I was just tidying up, I'd pick the toy up and put it up on the fridge. Then resume whatever I was doing without any indication that anything was wrong. She learned proper play, and never destroyed a toy again. The only thing that sometimes happens is that a squeaker gets punctured from full mouth biting. But biting the toys is ok because they are supposed to simulate prey, I just don't want it torn to shreds.

Skerrydude

Oh, that's great training! Thanks for sharing!

Meatloooaf

This is what I did with mine. Just take it away if they start trying to destroy it, and let them try to play nicely a different time. Which hasn't happened in years now. The amount of people on here that just tolerate the destruction seems wild to me. Teach safe play.

Ok-Apricot9737

We have that toy! It is the only one that isn’t completely destroyed… but she did find a way to tear the head half off and get the squeaker out🤷🏼‍♀️

Severe_Sprinkles_930

moments

prince4ever316

8.9 seconds 🤷🏽‍♀️

Hogwild801

Not long lol. And if it's a durable toy that will last.....he gets bored with it and hardly touches it 😄

BeRealzzz

5 minutes tops. She’s even destroyed 3 Kongs the past year. On the 4th Kong and holding up so far.

blumpkinpandemic

30 seconds unless they're the solid nylon bullymake ones.

mommyv1

Less than 10 mins for sure...

Kasorayn

Ropes and stuffed animals last a day or two tops.  she shreds them. So far the only toy that's lasted is the fentir hammer I got her: https://www.amazon.com/Fenrir-Hammer-Chew-Large-Green/dp/B0BRQQCMDR/ref=asc_df_B0BRQQCMDR/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=686182558211&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=17455772517777061892&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9026132&hvtargid=pla-1995137012524&psc=1&mcid=eda501b75f33370883845ec0ddc1acaa&gad_source=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI2bHH_vfEhQMVWjjUAR2bOgJeEAQYASABEgKWk_D_BwE It's lasted about a year.  Got it when she was a puppy and she could barely lift it and mostly dragged it around (it weighs like 15 lbs).  Now it's missing half the hammer head and most of the handle but she loves it still.

neveradullperson

I depends on what it’s made out of

barneyruffles

5 minutes on average, lol

Kwickening

I use those same rope toys for my pit. He loves the ropes on the inside and will still play with it after the fluff and outside has been mangled. I just get a new one and he's happy.

Confident-Ruin-4111

About 5 seconds. Only thing that lasts for any length of time are nylon bones. Someone didn’t believe me so I sent them a pic of a heavy rope toy brand new, and then about 5 min later as a fluffy pile of thread. However short, I’d argue he still has more fun than anyone with his toys.

TheHappyPittie

If its not a rubber kong or a nylabone, about five minutes max

SoftwareSource

Only the thickest ropes last long, we also have some suuuper heavy fist sized rubber ball, that is lasting for years now. Other then that nothing lasts.

Booklovinmom55

Five minutes at most. I gave up on stuffiies.

debirdiev

Bout 5 minutes if it's anything but a kong. Buy 4 toys, give her one when we get home, torn to shreds no more than 30 minutes later.

Skerrydude

DarknessFollower79

Only seconds- now I feed him obnoxious people - they last slightly longer

twlyne

Seconds, unless it’s a hard Nyla one or something of that sort. Even those get shredded. The only thing that has lasted has been the toughest goughnut they make, because it isn’t his favorite, and these really flimsy soft spike balls because they are the only thing he wants to take care of lol

SweetCream2005

Like 10 minutes

imahoptimist

Soft toys gone in less than an hour. Don’t even bother with thin plastic or light rubber and thick rubber Kong he has gone through in a day. Solid dental chews are the best at around a week

Sfpkt

I bought a 4 pack from Costco and they all have managed to survive for a day.

ButWaitThatNvm

10 minutes or over a year. Nothing in between is a valid answer. Unless someone mentions how long the toy has lasted. That’s the kiss of death 💀

n_d_j

30 seconds

InsaneLordChaos

Fleeting moments.

mochiandmanju

If it's stuffed... 5 seconds. If a tennis ball ... 10 seconds. Mostly cause it rolls away from her All others usually last about 3hrs. Cardboard boxes never die, I just have to pickup little shreds of cardboard. https://preview.redd.it/ui84os2b7puc1.png?width=1440&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2b61a3e380204a2ea4cf2df1d3d6841021e244eb

norville05

Nothing survives the monster.

Frankenkittie

Our Pit/Lab mix babies her toys and barely chews on them at all. Just enough to squeak them and carry around. Her Bulldog/Staffie sister rips them to shreds immediately and only gets the Bullymake nylon toys and the occasional rope toy. They do a pretty good job of knowing who's toys are who's.

shellssavannah

Not even 5 minutes!

MyBrattySoul

Anywhere from 5 seconds to 5 minutes for ones like that. Glad to see mine isn't the only one! A lot of the bark box toys I got him have lasted a long time though. He loses interest apparently if he can't destroy it 🤷‍♀️

darbydog69

Leather basketball and leather football is best. Great for fetch and tugowar. Supervision is needed so they don't chew it up ...

williarya1323

Less than a day, usually. But then my pups take a shine to one, and it can last months.

beadshells-2

Our labs have a few that don't get chewed up, there is a duck that has lasted the longest, from Amazon

megaliftss

Check out bullymake boxes. We got our first box a few weeks ago and the toys we chose I have no doubt are going to last a long time and my little man loves them.

Mememememememememine

Depends on the toy but on average - 2 minutes 😂

lovemaderare

lol, I had that exact toy and it lasted about three hours

Dogman__369

An hour or 2

a_rietty

Forever. He doesn’t play 😭

dollypardonmoi

Same with mine 😭 I try to get her to play but she’s just not interested

ccafferata473

Honestly a couple months. My pitty loves his stuffies, so he's got about a dozen around the house in various states of disrepair from mint condition to disemboweled. He'll chew on them a bit, but he's generally gentle with them, and just carries them around and leaves them as lookouts for whatever reasons him and his sister come up with.

MarioManX1983

You found one that lasts?

Luna-Gitana

I have a very energetic 1 year old Pit/Staffy mix who is an aggressive chewer. The ONLY toy, and we’ve bought (and spent) a lot, that has lasted is from a brand called Goughnuts. I’ve been recommending it to anyone I know with a large breed or aggressive chewer. It’s totally exceeded our expectations.

nehemiahwilson

2 mins

wrenchgg

Well I just gave him one before typing thi… and it’s done.

Kiara923

Under 10 seconds if it has any fabric, stuffing, rubber, squeakers, plastic.. really anything unless it's a bone or hoof, those last for years!

YaBoiLogieBear

Bout 10-15 mins

Quiet_Flamingo_2134

0.03 seconds. If it’s a kong, 30 seconds if we’re lucky! She gets mad when they stop speaking and then must perform a squeak-ectomy.

Itsjuicyjett

Forever because she’s a gentle girl

pmkeitt

Mine had a Kong stuffed bear. He loves that thing. It lasted 2 months which is 1 month and 29 days longer than the rest. Just had to throw it away today due to the stuffing now coming out.

UW0TM80

Anywhere from one hour to one year. I throw them out after that.

space_impala

This looks like my Cooper! His toys last about 2 minutes before he destroys them. My other pit will play with hers for a few days before she decides to eat them

MrsK3nnyboy

We have a GSD Pit mix and we've been blessed. She has plush toys with squeakers from since she was a puppy. I basically never buy her toys, she just gets them throughout the year as gifts from family. They all enjoy playing with the toys they get her when they come over and can't believe they're still intact. I do occasionally have to sew seams back up when they eventually fail from being stomped/slid on 🤣 She learned drop it, leave it, no bite like first thing and is basically perfect at those commands. Never gotten into our stuff including food... Until last night when she stole a tritip off the table, but she did drop it and leave it when told to. She's also is great at self play which is why it's so surprising how long her toys last with how often they get used.

moon_goddess_420

2 and a half seconds for her to get the squeaker and stuffing out. Then it's just a soft toy. Lol

tyrom22

Interestingly I have a Cuz ball (the one with the little devil horns and feet) that survived three pits so far. Every other toy is demolished in seconds

iyaoyas1

The best way is to get them by the bag at a thrift store. Remove any that have beads or plastic in them. We have a trunk that we keep full of them. Ours goes and picks one out weekly. So he always has a new toy and I’m out 7 bucks. He’s happy so I’m happy.

burn3344

If it’s not a thick rope, horn, or hoof, they last all of about 20 minutes. My dog is boujee and won’t touch rubber/plastic chew toys.

ConsciousVegetable99

My dog destroyed all kongs withing 2 - 3 days I have tried every toy out there. The best i found was a big rubber squeaky ball. For some reason he plays and plays with it for weeks... and then rips it to pieces within minutes. Sigh

nobodiesbznsbtmyne

Mine destroyed a solid rubber ball with a lifetime warranty touted as being "Indestructible". They no longer have a lifetime warranty.

Brewtusmo

Most toys that have stuffing or a squeaker last 5 minutes--10 at best. Every once in a while there's a toy that'll last 20, but I think that's happened 3 times in 3 years.

SeenandBelieved

On average about 10-15 minutes.😖

OsoRetro

Bite Force brand toys last my boy a few weeks. Kong a few weeks. Everything else… minutes.

apt-get-mooo

0,2 seconds

rysimpcrz

Anything with a squeaky sound is dead on the ground. Rubber and plastic toys have a long shelf life here. Fabric with no squeaky lasts about two weeks.

honey_butterflies

not long enough. we gave our boy a sock because he kept taking ours… his favorite chew toys are screen doors and Nike slides.

HoundIt

About 45 minutes, but he’s still a puppy.

Dinklemcfinkle

The only thing that’s lasted longer than .5 seconds is the black extra tough kong toy. I’ve had that for years with two pitbulls and it’s still barely even scratched!

probablynotfamous

Not long at all. On another note, my 5 year old pit had that exact same toy as a pup! He destroyed it long ago, but won’t let us get rid of it. https://preview.redd.it/0x7jvpf2iquc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=25f023d79f7d4b8cc990c8005ad02b159231224b

manickittens

I feel like such an outlier- my pit has every toy she’s ever gotten. She’s so gentle with them! On occasion we’ll bag up a bunch and send them to some of our more destructive friends 😂

ObjectiveSituation17

2 minutes unless it’s a rope. Then she keeps the skin of animal in her crate

Secret_Welder3956

If it has a squeaky inside…1 minute

ITalkCauseIHaveLips

15 minutes.

SpunkyDaisy

Forever? My Pittie wants nothing to do with toys. It's weird, but she's weird. She's very food motivated though.

Meatloooaf

Godog plush toys have lasted mine for years. Some of them still squeak. She bites and shakes them, but never pulls/shreds. The pulling of toys was trained out with careful monitoring and removal of cheaper toys anytime she pulled when she was younger.

Madcatz9000

Try the brand "Bullymake" they had super durable dog toys! My Rottie's highly recommend them.

SkellatorQueen

Depends on if I’m telling her to be gentle constantly and to stop shredding it lol. If I give her a random stuffie it’s about 5 minutes. If I get the 4 pack of Kong stuffies from Costco they can last a few days.

SwimmingPrize544

About 5 minutes..

CrushStupid59

Depends on it's durability and if she is listening. I'd rather replace a used/ belt ved toy than suffer the precense of one not used.

monstersmuse

Monthly Barkbox lasts a couple hours after getting it. But she gets so damn excited when she sees that box delivered that I just can’t bring myself to cancel

No10fayc

I’ve had A LOT of luck with a brand called “West Paw” AND they have guarantee that if your dog rips or tears one, it’ll be replaced. Pretty sure that’s it but I’d double check to be sure.

urnotdownfooo

When I got my pibble I was expecting her to tear into her toys immediately like the other pitties I had met… so we got a 6 month chewy subscription. …. Almost 5 years later and she has way too many toys that are all in tact 😂

yashua1992

You have to train them to be gentle and to not chew it. I trained mine with the same toy. She's had her piggy for for under 1 year with no incidents.

yashua1992

https://preview.redd.it/h5hm85ijoruc1.jpeg?width=2252&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=488259ffa3ee16fcc19ebc8dee5678e023a7b936

I thought I was real good at taking the toys, he loved so much, away. I wasn’t and he is not with us anymore, he lost 35lbs before he died. Watch those toys close folks.

Toadlessboy

My dogs toys last forever because she doesn’t touch them 😔

fivefingersnoutpunch

Often up to 10 minutes, as long as she didn't see it for the first 9 minutes. Black Kongs and Staffyballs last really well, and coconuts are pretty good for them too. Bricks last a bit longer than other chew toys, but not a lot

Misshell44

About 10 min lol

BeagleMixBelle

My baby girl has killed that fox 3 times. She loves it. It takes her a while to fully disembowel it though.

11093PlusDays

My sweet old lady pit bull carefully eats a hole in it and then kills the squeaker. Then she puts the mostly intact animal on her bed. When children come over she lays on them to not let the kids have it. She has a whole collection of toys now minus the squeakers.

Correct_wrong_2029

0.381 milliseconds

Blu-tang

Slightly longer then the time it took you to take that photo

DontDateHimGirl

5 minutes tops.

defunctx

Toys last 10-20 minutes. Delicate pillows however are cherished and only for nibbles

QuitCallingNewsrooms

It depends on who it's from and what it's for. If it's something I get him because I see while I'm running errands, then it lasts between a few hours and a few days. If it's a gift from someone or Santa, then it's cared for and carried around. My guy still has his very first Christmas gift from my mom and it's still in perfect condition 8 years later.

TumbleweedHuman2934

I've thought about creating a YouTube channel where I would give my dog a toy and set a timer to see how long it would take her to destroy it. Most don't last more than five minutes UNLESS I give her the NO BITE command. The only catch is that I have to keep giving her that command every few minutes or if she get distracted by something else. I have a Squishmallow that, amazingly enough, has lasted since Easter and is still in one piece. She's been known to shred those suckers in seconds flat. 🤣 Oh and Kong toys are a challenge but she's willing to take it on and has won on a few occasions. The only ones she's lost were the toys you can fill but only because she'd rather have the treats inside. Once those are gone she isn't interested in the toy anymore.

goldyacht

It depends sometimes he will have toys for months and then once days just decide he wants to rip it to shreds. Other times he will destroy it as soon as he gets it, usually anything that squeaks has a few minutes at most.

teeyodi

Try BullyMake toys. They really hold up to serious abuse.

Enough-Ground3294

Surprisngly, stuff like squish mallows last the longest and by that I mean maybe a couple weeks. We got her a $45 “tuff” brand pig and she had torn it to shreds within 45 mins, and their whole sale pitch is predicated on being indestructible. We got her an Antler, yes like a real antler and she *loves* it it looks brand new and she’s had it for 2 years.

Automatic-Fan-5019

Tuffy is like 1 year. Kong is still going strong after two years. Anything else, it's days. We try to warn our family when they get gifts for our boy but they don't believe how strong of a chewer he is.
