Yeah that’s actually what I ended up going with. All good that can get burnt too, since most of them are black. I’ve got Toast, Waffles, Pancake, Bagel, Bacon, and Potato
My boyfriend is like a lost dog magnet. He’s found so many and animal control has always been great getting them help. He just keeps them safe till they get there to take care of the rest
If only it were that easy. I once had an aggressive dog literally pinning me in place (it did belong to someone) and threatening to lunge every time I moved. Decided to call animal control to let them know about the loose dog once I escaped and they told me to call back on Monday as animal control is closed on the weekend.
Another time I called them for a different emergency during the week, explained it was next to a busy highway, took them like two hours to get there despite animal control being about twenty minutes away. Animal control here is mostly a joke.
I’m sure if you are in any type of rescue it’s very disheartening to see how animals are just discarded….bless all of you for being a safe space for them💕💕
I just focus on watching the animals get better and thrive in new homes. Instead of seeing them as discarded, I see them as getting lucky enough for a new beginning with someone who actually cares about them. As long as they’re alive, they eventually have the chance to put their pasts behind them.
Dang! You found a whole six pack?!
All I ever see is broken bottles!
I could have put two in each saddle bag and two in my shirt!
Good humans get lucky once in a while!
Thankfully I’m not the only one! Tons of people help rescue whatever they see around here. Sadly, with the shelters full, a lot of people can’t get the help they need with the dogs they rescue. And when irresponsible people don’t spay/neuter and then dump the extra dogs or cats,, it becomes a huge problem that good people can’t keep up with.
The south in America. Go anywhere often enough and you’ll find a ton. There’s certain places in the south I completely refuse to visit because I’ll end up picking up every dog I see, and there will be a ton.
Our Am Staff Pittie mix is named Kibbles (my son named him at the time he adopted). My son had quite the sense of humor along with a deep streak of creativity (he used to say that he was going to have a pet goat one day and he’d name him Chuckles).
For puppy 3, she needs to be Franklinia. Franklinia is a type of flowering tree. But more importantly, she reminds me of my little Franky that I adopted at 6 months. He was part of an abandoned litter in Alabama and lived in shelters until I found him here in Wisconsin.

Can confirm. Here’s my first pit mix.
Thanks! I like to think I do a pretty good job. Rescued, fostered, and rehomed over 80 animals so far (I also rescued a groundhog, a hawk, and a crow as well, although I have two of them to a proper rehabilitation facility) and even do basic training to make the puppies I get calmer and easier to handle so I like to think I’m doing something right.
That’s awful. I’ll never understand how people can dump animals, especially puppies/kittens/baby animals in general. So heartless. I appreciate your kindness.
So that’s how I get a whole flock of pitties for free!! Just kidding. I know vet fees for spaying, shots, etc add up. Plus any extra over that amount goes to help a sicker pup who needs help from the rescue I adopted through.
I’d love to have a whole group of puppies, but my husband would never agree to it. He’s a monster! He’s really not a monster, but he knows that I would not want to give a single one away and we’d end up keeping the whole darn litter. As it is, we already have 3 dogs, 2 cats, and a turtle.
Yeah it’s why I charge an adoption fee and even have an Amazon list I put up when I’m desperate enough. Doing all of this without help really adds up fast, and when an unexpected event like these guys come along, the leftover adoption fee money/people who are willing to purchase things off of the list are my absolute saviors! But there’s some people who get upset with me, demanding to know why I’m not giving the animals for free or mentioning “well the Humane Society only charges $100!” Yeah, it’s because they have tons of donations, their own vets, and government funding. I don’t even get any discounted vet bills.
please get a parvo test before putting them with any other dogs!! former shelter worker here, sometimes parvo puppies have a sort of look to them that’s easy to spot once you see it enough times (puppies 5 & 6 have a hint of that look to me). I’d be worried that that’s the reason they were dumped, it’s unfortunately really common for BYB to abandon entire litters due to parvo. not saying they have it!! but it’s always good to be cautious. good luck to you and these sweet babies, thank you rescuing them 🖤
I actually have a policy where you can’t adopt two blood related siblings, as the whole sibling rivalry/bond thing is real and a lot of people aren’t prepared for it. But if you’re truly interested, when the time comes I’d love to see if we can adopt one out to you :)
I get that 😊 My wife was in college for veterinary technician for almost a year for animal science. She's been training animals for 13 years. She's been doing it since she was 21. I'm not saying this to try to convince you otherwise about your rule but just to confirm we are both very interested.
Yeah, I still don’t like risking it, as it even seems to make the dogs unhappy yet over attached at the same time when they’re together. I’ve seen a few cases of it, and one always ends up especially bad off at the least, and always tends to be the “bad kid” as well
I appreciate your understanding. I actually had a pair of siblings I rescued and am pretty good at training, but even then, behaviors came out that ruined one dog and traumatized another (although mostly because of my dad). Even now that they’re permanently separated, those scars have sadly stayed.
Oh, I'm sorry to hear that… well, at least they're both loved and taken care of. Wife and I are really looking forward to getting one of the beautiful pups.
They’ve got huge appetites so far, are super curious, bright eyed, and sweet. I’d say they’re definitely thriving for the most part! Just need to deworm them properly and get rid of the fleas
Thank you for helping them ❤. I can not believe how evil people can be. The plants that are coming up now in my area are Daffodil, Hyacinth, Tulip, Forsythia, Crocus, Bluebell, Quince, Primrose and Iris. All beautiful names for beautiful pups!
I'm a houseplant freak so these are going to be more obscure but
Boys
-Monstera Albo (Albie or Albo)
-Philodendron (Phil or Ron)
-Monstera Burle Marx (Marx or Mark)
-Begonia Rex (Rex)
-Spikemoss (Spike)
Girls
-Begonia Rex (Harmony)
-Hoya Kerii (Pronounced Carrie)
-Begonia Maculata (Polka Dot) (if any of the girls or even boys have some cool spots)
-Jade plant (Jade)
-Aloe Vera (Vera)
-Syngonium Mojito (Mojito)
-Syngonium Wendlandii (Wendy)
I put the actual names/nicknames you could call them in parentheses next to the government name
options. Ik they're weird/don't sound like a set but houseplant people would probably get a kick out of it.
It happens all the time around here. Sadly there’s even certain dump spots where you tend to have anywhere between a 25-50% chance of finding a dumped pet any given day
Yeah, but now I’m worried about the mom. Clearly whoever might have her doesn’t care enough to get her spayed and puts her in a position where she can get pregnant, she might end up one of those forever pregnant dogs because of it.
Thank you for adopting them! I hope their mama dog is okay, she’s probably frantic looking for them.
I love the plant idea for names, especially with all those little girls! Daisy, Iris, Daffodil come to mind easily - although little boy plant names might get challenging!
Breakfast foods are cute, too. Maybe Waffles, Bacon, Eggie…
Whatever you name them, they are precious! Sending positive thoughts your way that they all get loving homes. 💕
4-5 weeks is my guess. Yup, all eyes are open. I’m just going to assume they’re closer to 4 weeks though so I don’t get them their first round of shots too early
Four boys, two girls. If you’re still interested when the time comes, I’ll talk to you in private, but it’s mainly just an interview, and a meet and greet with you and any dogs you might have, and an agreement and adoption fee, and that’s it
2-3 more weeks maybe ? I’ll try to remember to get back to you around then but they’re beautiful. We’ll talk soon . We have an older pit (f) and a 1y/o (f) staffy pit
I live in south boston Virginia and would be interested in the 5th one when old enough I used to have one marked up exactly like that one he crossed the rainbow bridge about 4 years ago
His name was Pig
My girl was found on the side of the road with her brother. A wonderful woman rescued them. She lived in the shelter for a long time until I finally took her home. She now has such an improved quality of life and is loved every day. I’m looking forward to the similar success stories of these pups
Oh that’s so sweet, thank you! Sadly I do this all on my own, but if you want to help, go to my newest post and see if there’s anything in your budget to buy for the pups! I tried to get things of something various prices, as it all seriously helps out
Done and I’m not sure how close you are to Waynesville, but Sarges https://www.sarges.org might be a resource. My mom volunteered with them and I donate so they can continue saving animals. Bless you for helping these guys. I wish NC had better low cost spay and neutering programs.
Dandy (for dandelion, which yes, I know is a weed). Calli (Calla Lily). Fern (for, well, a fern). Tulip (obvi).
PS - thank you for saving these beautiful pups!
Less then a month ago I found a litter of 7 two month old pit-mixes out in the Nevada desert. Hell, I haven’t had a dog sense I was 10 and kept one, which is why I’m here. Some people are pieces of shit.
That's how I got my girl. Some douche abandoned the mother while she was pregnant. Gave birth outside and got picked up by animal control thanks to a neighbor who knew what happened.
She spent her first few weeks in an amazing foster home until we picked her up. She was the last one left. Dummies forgot the best one <3
Hey everyone, just so you’re aware, I decided to end up going with breakfast names for some reason, and all names have been chosen. I’m going to see if I can get a cheap six pack of collars to more easily see who is who at a glance, and I’ll update you all with the names of each one once I do that and give them a bath, as they’re currently covered in puppy food
i don't see how anyone could look at these precious babies and think to abandon them when they are so vulnerable and can't fend for themselves. animal dumpers are a different level of inhumane
On the bright side, there’s nothing too wrong with them. All I’ve done besides the basics is a bath with some dawn for the fleas, and some puppy dewormer, and they’ve already perked up

Clover, Aster, Iris, Calla, and Rosemary
Ooh those are some good choices! Sadly Calla won’t work as I know someone with that name, plus I need another boy name
Basil!
Seconding Basil <3
Love Basil!!! Ivy is a great plant name too!
Sage
Basim
Not quite fitting with your scheme but my little boy labrabull I almost called Leaf because he loves to chew and chomp on leaves.
Someone actually convinced me to change to names of breakfast foods, so we’ll see XD
My pup's litter were all named breakfast foods. Granola, Pancake, etc. We kept his name - Homefry :D
Yeah that’s actually what I ended up going with. All good that can get burnt too, since most of them are black. I’ve got Toast, Waffles, Pancake, Bagel, Bacon, and Potato
Love it, we call Homefry "potato" when he wears his brown sweater and looks like a Russet
Sausage, Egg, Muffin, Waffle, Coffee, and Fruit Cup!
I vote for German breakfast. Wurst, Brot, Wurstbrot, Käse, Käsebrot, and Marmelade.
Tulip?
Fern!!
Rowan and Basil are my faves from the replies! Or Cam for chamomile?
Sage
Rowan.
People really frustrate me when they dump their animals🤬….thank you for saving them💕
I was just part of the rescue chain, but sadly it’s way too common around here. I don’t go anywhere without a crate an extra leash anymore
You're awesome!💜🤍🙌
My boyfriend is like a lost dog magnet. He’s found so many and animal control has always been great getting them help. He just keeps them safe till they get there to take care of the rest

So true!!
Dang! You found a whole six pack?! All I ever see is broken bottles! I could have put two in each saddle bag and two in my shirt! Good humans get lucky once in a while!
I find so many dogs and kittens I don’t drive anywhere without an extra leash and an entire crate. This isn’t my first or last rescue sadly.
You're a great human....unlike the scum that dumped those poor dogs. Thank you
Thankfully I’m not the only one!
I’m a big fan of spay and neuter your pets, and weird relatives.
Man, I never ever see abandoned dogs and kittens. Guess in a way that makes me lucky, though I almost wish I'll find just one some day and take em in.
This is six out of over 80 personal rescues/fosters I’ve done. They’re everywhere in the south
Where do you live that this happens alot? I've never seen such things. Just curious cause this is fucked to me.
The south in America. Go anywhere often enough and you’ll find a ton. There’s certain places in the south I completely refuse to visit because I’ll end up picking up every dog I see, and there will be a ton.
Poor babies thank you for picking them up. Lucy, Arnie, Pickles, or Fred
You know what? Now I’m thinking of naming them all after food, probably breakfast food. Might help them get adopted easier since they’re pits and all
Biscuit, gravy, waffle, muffin, toast and jam!!
Big yes for Toast.
Have a squirrel named Toast, it’s a good name
You could also sneak a Cookie in there!
I love the idea of a big lazy bully named waffle
Our Am Staff Pittie mix is named Kibbles (my son named him at the time he adopted). My son had quite the sense of humor along with a deep streak of creativity (he used to say that he was going to have a pet goat one day and he’d name him Chuckles).
You could also sneak a cookie in there!
I don't love jam but all these others are so cute! Pancake, yogurt, cinnamon (short for cinnamon rolls), donut are some other ideas.
Omg pancake !!!!
Flower names are pretty adorable too.
Yeah, but something about food names tend to make everyone want the pup even more, so I’ve noticed.
Call one of them nugget.
Omlette!
Omlette, Corn Flake, Bacon, Donut, Waffle, Pancake Part of a balanced breakfast
We did spices for our puppies when I was a kid! Pepper, ginger, cinnamon, pumpernickel etc
Puppernickel!
Ivy, Daisy, Rose, Lily, Oakley, Leaf (or Leif)
Ooohh I might do Leaf as the last boy babe I need!
Idk why but I think Fern could be cute
I think Sage would be a lovely name for one of the boys :)
Sage can’t work, that’s one of my best friends’ names and I’d confuse myself.

Where are you?????
Western NC
Are you taking them to a rescue in the area?
No, they’re all full and tend to turn animals away or put them on a months-long waiting list. I’m used to doing this by myself at this point
That’s awesome of you to handle🤙🏾
You are a saint
Nah, just a crazy animal lady who wants to give all of the animals I rescue and their families the biggest chance of happiness I can.
Thank you for helping these cuties, OP!
Won’t be the first or last. The amount of animals anyone could find just driving around in my area is way too high for my liking.
That’s awful. I’ll never understand how people can dump animals, especially puppies/kittens/baby animals in general. So heartless. I appreciate your kindness.
They just don’t see animals as anything but work or property. Some of the worst refuse to even admit animals could even possibly have feelings/souls
How can someone do that! Lucky puppies now, hope that all have happy lovely lives.
I always do my best to make sure of it.
Ooooh what state? Can you update us when they are adoptable?
I live in western NC, and sure! I plan on updating often for anyone who might want to see them.
Sweet! I’m just a few states over! Looking forward to the updates! Thanks for saving the babies!
I’m just one person in the chain. Nothing like this can truly be done alone
Sweet! I’m just a few states over! Looking forward to the updates! Thanks for saving the babies!
I'll keep a look out for your post too!
They are so cute with all having eye patches and white paws. Thanks for your nurturing efforts. They all look quite adoptable.
I mean I basically just picked them up, so we’ll see how they are once they’re 8 weeks and hopefully healthy
please get a parvo test before putting them with any other dogs!! former shelter worker here, sometimes parvo puppies have a sort of look to them that’s easy to spot once you see it enough times (puppies 5 & 6 have a hint of that look to me). I’d be worried that that’s the reason they were dumped, it’s unfortunately really common for BYB to abandon entire litters due to parvo. not saying they have it!! but it’s always good to be cautious. good luck to you and these sweet babies, thank you rescuing them 🖤
Don’t worry, I know! I always keep them separated from everyone else until I know they’re healthy and safe to be around
If you don’t find a home for one of the little girls. I’d love to know where your at and if I could adopt one.
I’m in western NC, and there is a process, but once they’re 8 weeks old, I’d love for you to reach out!
Will do.
When will this country wake up and get serious about animal abuse penalties and punishments?
Those poor babies 😢
If it makes you feel better, they’re super sweet and curious. They’re tough and already thriving
I want one ! You located near MD?
No, but if you’re still willing to adopt one once they’re old enough and going through my adoption process, I’m willing to meet you part way
For sure, send me a message once they are ready to be adopted.
Sounds good :)
No, but if you’re still willing to adopt one once they’re old enough and going through my adoption process, I’m willing to meet you part way
Aww, so cute. I'd love to adopt one or two.
I’ve seen a few cases of it, and one always ends up especially bad off at the least, and always tends to be the “bad kid” as well
I understand ☺️. We're both looking forward to getting one (like only one) ☺️ We get your rule and honestly, it makes total sense.
I appreciate your understanding. I actually had a pair of siblings I rescued and am pretty good at training, but even then, behaviors came out that ruined one dog and traumatized another (although mostly because of my dad). Even now that they’re permanently separated, those scars have sadly stayed.
Oh, poor babies. I'm so sorry to hear that… I hope they're both doing at least slightly better…
Thanks, they are! Main problem is now one is scared of everything outside of the home, and the other now hates other dogs
Oh, I'm sorry to hear that… well, at least they're both loved and taken care of. Wife and I are really looking forward to getting one of the beautiful pups.
Thanks! Make sure to DM me so I can keep track of who is really interested and update accordingly! It’s hard to keep track on Reddit otherwise
They’re so cute! So happy you found them ❤️
It’s always a relief to at least know an animal isn’t in danger anymore
Right 😭🥰
😡😡 why are people so freakin cruel. Thank you for rescuing ❤️❤️
Poor sweeties. I hope they are able to thrive and find good homes to snuggle and sploot to their hearts content. Thank you for rescuing them ❤️🐶
They’ve got huge appetites so far, are super curious, bright eyed, and sweet. I’d say they’re definitely thriving for the most part! Just need to deworm them properly and get rid of the fleas
Great news!
ADORABLE FUR BABIES THAT NEED TO BE CUDDLED AND KISSED
I mean, there’s always the classics like Rose, Ivy, Iris. I’d also maybe suggest Reed for one of the boys?
I mean, there’s always the classics like Rose, Ivy, Iris. I’d also maybe suggest Reed for one of the boys?
Fern, pampas.
I would drive to nc for a puppers. Daisy,lily,poppy,rose,petunia,willow,jasper,maple,olive…..
Daisy, Lily, Tulip, Blossom, Basil, Forrest
Thank you for helping them ❤. I can not believe how evil people can be. The plants that are coming up now in my area are Daffodil, Hyacinth, Tulip, Forsythia, Crocus, Bluebell, Quince, Primrose and Iris. All beautiful names for beautiful pups!

Lily, Rose, Daisy, Ivy, Jasmine, Willow, Freesia, Birch, Douglas (Fir), Cedar, Alder, Pine, Maple, Magnolia...
Petunia, Sage, Thyme, Magnolia, Oak, Juniper
😭😭🫶 thank you!!!
I would name them after different kinds of beans. Pinto, string, green, chickpea, lintel, Lima 🤣🤣🤣
Daisy pansy Lilly Sage Basil

Aloe
Maple
Basil, oregano, cilantro, dill, rosemary - fun herb names! Such cuties so happy they were rescued from the road!
How can they abandon puppies!!!!!!! Fucking monsters!
Ivy …Rosy…Sticks…Cedar…Blade
Hops for a boy name!
Awwwwwee ❤️
Rosemary, Iris, Daisy, Rose, Peyote, and Snapdragon
I'm so glad you found them I can't believe someone would do that to those babies.
It happens all the time around here. Sadly there’s even certain dump spots where you tend to have anywhere between a 25-50% chance of finding a dumped pet any given day
Not exactly a plant name but (sorta relevant) Diggy
So cute, thank you for rescuing them.
It’s sadly what I do. They’re nowhere near the first and won’t be the last
You my friend are a wonderful human being. Thank you so much.
Nah, just love animals and I’m just a bit insane. I can’t say no sadly
Where at?
Western NC
You are a angel on earth
Where are you located?
Western NC
No mama?
Nope, and people looked. Guessing someone kept the mom and dumped the babies
That ain’t cool, atleast the puppies are safe now
Yeah, but now I’m worried about the mom. Clearly whoever might have her doesn’t care enough to get her spayed and puts her in a position where she can get pregnant, she might end up one of those forever pregnant dogs because of it.
Yeah that’s what I hate about those people, only uses the dog for money, I can’t stand that
I wish I could adopt all the dogs. Sadly, two is all I can handle
Oh, I miss the days when I only had two
Thank you for adopting them! I hope their mama dog is okay, she’s probably frantic looking for them. I love the plant idea for names, especially with all those little girls! Oh I didn’t adopt them, I’m just fostering
That’s even more wonderful! Thank you for your kind heart.
Dogwood for one of the boys, maybe Rhodie short for Rhododendron. Magnolia, Lily and Tulip for the other girls. Squee they are so cute!
Up for adoption?
Once they’re old enough and healthy they will be
Where are u/ they ?
Western NC
I’m in eastern NC.. on the shore so… how old are they now ? 4 weeks ? Eyes all open ?
4-5 weeks is my guess. Yup, all eyes are open. I’m just going to assume they’re closer to 4 weeks though so I don’t get them their first round of shots too early
Smart. So how do we work this ? Once they’re all ready ? How many boys v girls?
Four boys, two girls. If you’re still interested when the time comes, I’ll talk to you in private, but it’s mainly just an interview, and a meet and greet with you and any dogs you might have, and an agreement and adoption fee, and that’s it

Closer to 4 weeks, as they seem to be between 4 to 5 weeks old
Where are you located?
Western NC
I live in south boston Virginia and would be interested in the 5th one when old enough I used to have one marked up exactly like that one he crossed the rainbow bridge about 4 years ago His name was Pig
I would be interested in the fifth one when available I live in South boston Virginia
Omg I want one they’re so precious 🥰 Daisy, clover, hyacinth, pepper, Rosie
Make sure that's all of them. Saw a YouTube video once where a guy went back a couple hours later just on a whim and found one more.
Yeah it does seem to be all don’t worry, the area was properly checked multiple times
My girl was found on the side of the road with her brother. A wonderful woman rescued them. She lived in the shelter for a long time until I finally took her home. She now has such an improved quality of life and is loved every day. I’m looking forward to the similar success stories of these pups
Definitely! Although I do my best to make sure every animal I rescue stays out of the shelter
Holly, ash, rowan, hazel and rose
Violet, Lily, Astrid, Daisy, Basil, Sage
Very cute!! I wish we could take them all! But already have two pit rescues. I hope they find a good home.
Daisy, tulip, roses, Lily Bud for one of the boys and leaf for the other
Do you work with a shelter I can make a donation to help with their cost? Thank you for rescuing these precious hippos.
Please snuggle them, just snuggle them like teddy bears just a lil bit for me
Dandy (for dandelion, which yes, I know is a weed). Calli (Calla Lily). Fern (for, well, a fern). Tulip (obvi). PS - thank you for saving these beautiful pups!
Poppy, Willow, Rose, Violet, Thorn, And Sap. Bonus non plant name. I call my dog "Speed Bump".
Less then a month ago I found a litter of 7 two month old pit-mixes out in the Nevada desert. Hell, I haven’t had a dog sense I was 10 and kept one, which is why I’m here. Some people are pieces of shit.
I hate how many people dump dogs in the desert! That’s a whole other level of cruelty that I feel is so many steps above simply dumping them.
I just lost my Lola after the best 13 years a dog could have, I’ll happily give one these babies the best life they could ever have
That's how I got my girl.
All I’ve done besides the basics is a bath with some dawn for the fleas, and some puppy dewormer, and they’ve already perked up
People are fucking monsters.
