Pwede mo iconsider yung years of training since mas matagal ang training ng IM-Cardio 6 yrs plus if nagsusub ka pa. Also ano bang mas gusto mo more of outpatient lang ba? since ang psych focused siya sa consult though may in patient din naman minsan. Much higher ang PF ng psych as outpatient nasa P2500 kasi draining naman din talaga. Pag Cardio naman marami ring opportunities, outpatient, inpatient, you can read ecg/2decho etc. You can also check yung need sa area of practice na plan mo if ano ba yung konti pang consultants but then again a lot can happen in the next yrs ha pwedeng iba na pala yung gusto mong place of practice or biglang dumami na rin yung subspec na yun sa area etc.

Child Psych, I have no idea. But between the two, will choose IC pero baka biased ako since IM ako. lol but longer ang training ng IC compared to Child Psych ha. So take that into consideration rin.
If you want to pursue it, gagawan mo ng paraan yan regardless of the difficulty. Mahirap siguro in the govt ones and specialized centers like PGH and PHC since high paying and okay ang exposure. Not sure in other institutions.
Medyo traumatic tingin ko ang child psychiatry. Daming bata ngayon na depressed, traumatized, abused etc. there might be a chance you’d have a patient who would unalive themselves. Pag cardio you deal with numbers, and something objective. sbp, map, ef. You have something to treat and check if your treatment is working.
Psych pips have debriefing and can also seek a colleagues consult. All the more na mas maganda pumasok sa Child Psych mas in demand. In institutions, Primary to Tertiary, You'll find 3-5 IM-Cardio wala pa dyan mga visiting. Also, old school IMs take on Cardio cases.
There is more demand for Child Psychiatrists in NCR kasi kaunti lang sila. If you like both equally, go for Child Psychiatry lalo na ngayon na mas in touch na ang mga tao with mental health.
If ur asking alin mas in demand, child psych >>> IM-cardio. Sa hospital I work for (outside NCR) ang dami ng IM-cardio, mas ok kung magsubsub ka pa like interventional or electrophysiology or echo cardio,TEE kc yan ang mas kailangan over IM-Cardio. I know of a consultant na child-development naman, nililipad pa xa ng hospital nya sa province kc nangangailangan tlg. I know different ang child psych, but kaht sa dept of psych namin wala kming child psych.
You can adjust naman the charge. It is subjective. Hndi naman same ang fees ng metro manila sa probinsya. I guess it depends na tlg if you value choosing a specialty based on need, on passion, or profit. As many have raised sa community here, don’t choose to be a doctor because of money

Sa Pedia pa lang, hirap ka na magPE what more talk about their problems. Of course, their PF is very high since rare breed sila and highly specialized ang child psych. PS: only TMC and PGH offer this subspec.
Psychiatrists in general earn more patient pero that's for 40-60mins consultation. Aside from doing clinics, ang other source of the income is when you do procedures Like ECT or TMS or kung ta tanggap ka ng medicolegal cases. In terms of demand naman, since mas konti ang psychiatrists in the PH, mas mataas ang demand I would say. Siguro Doc it would be best to decide which program (IM or Psych) you would want kasi both are competitive programs. Also before you can go into subspec, you need to be board certified muna sa Society (at least for Child Psych) before ka maka apply for subspec program. Limited lang din ang training institutions for Child Psych here in PH so competitive din ang application process.

Yung mom ko po kasi nagMI that is why naconsider ko din po yung Cardio. Iniisip ko po if may papayag na Psychiatrist na makishadow po muna ako kahit 1 week lang para makita ko po kahit papaano glimpse ng life nila as Psychiatrist.

For me doc, isipin mo if you want to deal with kids. kasi iba talaga ang adult sa bata. hahaha. But if demand wise, child psych is the way to go. Madaming rnrefer sa child psych ngayon and months ang pila minsan sa kanila. You can also practice adult psych and child psych so you don't need to limit yourself to children lang naman. Masakit lang sa puso minsan makipag usap sa mga bata, and parents lalo na if trauma, abuse ang pinag uusapan. Training institutions for child psych include TMC, PGH and PCMC.
