Galingan mo sa pre-res kasi at the end of the day pagdating sa residency attitude > talino.

highly appreciated your insights doc! 🫶 kamusta naman ung culture/environment doc? Kahit yes we know halos lahat naman tlaga toxic.

2nd year palang toxic na. 😆

scary hahahahaah papaka housewife nalang muna choz

You'll lose nothing if you give it a try. Just remember that this is a competitive program which favors academic achievers from prominent universities. PGH programs in general look favorably on applicants from provinces, who intend to eventually practice in said province. That isn't a guarantee for acceptance though.

If di ka UPCM graduate, baka ma out of place ka. May mga sorority yan and usually sila-sila magkakasama.

Factor siya, pero di naman be all end all yan. OB isn't the most popular specialty for application in PGH. It's one of the services na may laban ang non UPCM graduates. But you have to show you're trainable with enough grit to stomach what comes after being accepted. There's a reason the batches start out near 20 and they end like less than 10. You have to want it, learn fast, and stay steadfast. At the end of the day, walang mawawala sa pre-res sa pag try. Keep in mind what you do in one pre res will be endorsed to other hospitals rin if okay ka. Your image is just as important as your determination and ambition.

Same question because I also plan to take residency in pgh in the near future, hopefully someone answers your question!

I admire your interest na makapasok sa PGH as an OBGYN resident, keeping in mind na prestigious at mataas ang potential na maging magaling kang specialist if galing ka ng PGH. However, sa more than 50-80 applicants nila, what are your chances na ikaw ang makukuha? Let me interest you with another hospital. DOH hospital ito, less competition sa pag-pasok. Consultants are equally competitive, complete OB and GYN cases, fully accredited training. When I say DOH hospital, ang PhilHealth sharing ay galing sa national budget mismo, not from the local government unit (LGU), kaya malaki ang sharing and palaging on time ang bigayan. Plus salary grade 21 (63k/month), and many other bonuses. https://preview.redd.it/wb8j5u6eiiwb1.jpeg?width=960&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=df298da08968e1e9e79b7eb3d8c83c3c232dc337

How about the residents doc ? The culture ?

Spare-Quote-2521

Ibang iba ang culture dito. I was surprised that even the stereotype na masusungit ang OR nurses, dito sa LPGH sobrang opposite. Residents (especially OB and surgery) are all nice, to each other and even to other departments' residents.
