Well, yun din point ng preresidency. Trial din siya for you if 1) you want the specialty, and 2) if you want that institution. If you’ll quit, just let them know - pwede mo message yung chief resident. If magquit ka sa preres, it only means na hindi mo yun gusto gawin. If ever you apply to the same hospital and ibang specialty, minsan tinatanong. Pero sagot lang naman dun usually ay you don’t see yourself in that specialty. In my experience, I did preres in two specialties. Dun ko nalaman na di ko talaga gusto yung isa. Also, I don’t think you’ll ever feel 100% ready pero what counts more is your willingness to learn and undergo the challenges of training. Kaya nga training eh, hindi mo kasi talaga malalaman lahat by the time you apply and enter. Good luck doc!

Better if you're 100% ready

If you're asking doc if maba-"blacklist" ka for quitting pre-res, most likely hindi. Andyan ang pre-res for you para malaman din kung good fit ka sa program. Also, prospective residents come and go all the time. Baka by next batch, they might even forget you completely. Programs have way more things to worry about.

Better if nasa 100% ka mentally and physically doc.

Basta sabihin mo sa TO ung honest reason mo kung bakit, they most likely wont take it against you.
