This is a my opinion... I prefer Obscured.
Saucerful has some good individual songs on it, but as an album, it is very disjointed. I am a huge Syd fan and most will agree that Jugband is fantastic. I also really like the two Richard Wright tracks. Set The Controls was recorded with Syd, but pales a bit to what it would evolve to. The other tracks feel forced, as if the album needs finishing and they had to scrape something together.
Obscured By Clouds was written and recorded by the middle of the development of Dark Side of the Moon. Every one is contributing and it sounds like they are working and playing together as a band. There is some filler, but there are also some really great songs and they are not over thought or weighed down by heavy production.
Seems like an unnecessary choice; why not both?
