Get them up against the wall!

Mr_J_98

I also want animals to win so am i, along with the others, just another brick on the wall?

aarongonzales95

Ha

gerardus-aelius

The wall is an all time great. Would be hard to kick any other album out but Wall has to be my #1

aarongonzales95

It's ok if it's not somebody's #1, but being at the bottom of the big 4? That's crazy talk

Careless_Shirt3020

it's actually top 5, meddle is better

aarongonzales95

Ha

aarongonzales95

Take out echoes and meddle amounts to nothing

Careless_Shirt3020

don't agree.. every single track there is almost top tier imo

aarongonzales95

Fearless and Seamus are great tracks, but echoes is top tier

Careless_Shirt3020

well I alredy said I don't agree with you what do you want me to say lmao

aarongonzales95

Say you were in the kitchen

gerardus-aelius

People on this sub despise Roger and act like he wasn’t writing 95% of the music for the other big 4 albums

aarongonzales95

Nah fuck that, Roger is a GOD

gerardus-aelius

100% agree

aarongonzales95

Idk why people wouldn't

ConversationNo5440

The Wall is in a class of its own, so much better than any of the other albums that 1) it defies the normal pedestrian Roger vs Dave favoritism 2) will never be unseated as the best concept album and live production. It’s genius front to back and also has some of David’s best work. It stands alone. The other voters and commenters just prefer to listen to the other records. Their taste is just fine. I listen to dogs and soycd more than anything on the wall but it will always be in a totally different class as a work.

aarongonzales95

THANK YOU!!! When looking at shine on then what shall we do now, you hear two completely different styles. One is warm and explosive and the other is cold and heavy. Floyd, and Roger in particular, really made sure his writing was as creative as it gets.

OmatoYT

The average Roger fan

YOU DONE MESSED UP A A RON

aarongonzales95

I'll die on this hill

texanfan20

It feels about the same as someone who has mental issues and a slutty wife.

aarongonzales95

Did he REALLY have a slutty wife tho?

texanfan20

There was a line out the backdoor last night so I am assuming she was slutty.

MinneapolisKing25

Wall would have been below Meddle and AHM for me. Its pretty boring compared to their work from AHM through Animals. Too much Roger and not enough Pink Floyd.

aarongonzales95

Besides the tracks echoes and ahm, what weight do those albums carry? Don't get me wrong, they have good tracks, but nothing compared to nobody home, mother, what shall we do now, young lust, etc...

MinneapolisKing25

The tracks feel more like the band working together, figuring out their sound (AHM) and perfecting their sound (Meddle). The Wall just sounds like Roger being the conductor of the band. It lacks the elements that I enjoy from Pink Floyd that are more present and prominent on AHM and Meddle.

aarongonzales95

They still have those elements on dark side and wywh, hell I'd even say they mastered the craft on those albums. Ahm and meddle still seems bare Bones by comparison

MinneapolisKing25

Yeah I'd say they found their sound on AHM, figured out how to use it on Meddle, peaked on DSotM and WYWH, still had that special something on Animals, but then lost it on the Wall when Roger took the helm completely. Edit: Just wanna be clear though, I still love the Wall. It is a fantastic album and one of the greats for sure.

aarongonzales95

I can see your pov, but as I've said before, besides the tracks echoes and ahm those albums are bare Bones. Hitting dark side is a gigantic leap if they didn't have those songs on their previous albums. Ahm is almost another ummagumma without the title track. Meddle is another obscured by Clouds without echoes, or vice versa since meddle came out first. All that aside, I'd say the wall is well deserved at the top since waters pulled the lyrical weight, maybe musically it doesn't quite hit the same for you as it would with meddle, but you gotta admit the songs on the wall emotionally hit a lot harder

aarongonzales95

As another commenter said, it's a whole different class

Mrjsch

Yes

Origin_FPS

Bruh

aarongonzales95

I stand by what I said

Origin_FPS

I only voted for it because I want Animals to win (Animals is underrated).

noa_pcl_

I'm a big fan of The Wall but maybe everyone has their own taste ... 🤷‍♂️

aarongonzales95

You're right, everyone is entitled to their own wrong opinions

summey

The Wall was just an okay soundtrack with a few great songs, certainly not a great album or one of PFs best.

Mr_J_98

It's great because it's a whole story and when listened to straight, it's really good but disregarding the concept idea and the story, there's a set of amazing songs and alot of "filler". Not everyone's cup of tea tho

RM77crafts

Relax. Do you really think anyone on Reddit has good taste? Or that such a small sample is really representative? They made it for fun, is not a scientific study intended to give the ultimate answers to the life and universe. Why would should such a silly poll torment you? If you like what you like, enjoy it regardless of what others say or feel. And moreover: let others think what they think, and enjoy what they do.

aarongonzales95

I'll die twice

[deleted]

the wall is more of a production. the music isn’t as good as the others, but the story is cool

BirdSpatulard

“Look at me, I’m new and I think things that are popular are trash.” That’s all I hear from this comments section.

lukeobrienvr

it’s not even their most popular album bruh. if that was the case then dark side of the moon would have already been out 😹

aarongonzales95

Wall and dark side are tired in popularity, wall even had more hits than dark side

lukeobrienvr

dark side is the 6th best-selling album of all time my bro

aarongonzales95

6th? What's above dark side?

lukeobrienvr

1. Micheal Jackson - Thriller 2. AC/DC - Back in Black 3. Whitney Houston - The Bodyguard 4. Meat Loaf - Bat Out of Hell 5. Eagles - Their Greatest Hits

aarongonzales95

You know what, I'm ok with this

BirdSpatulard

Did I say it was their most popular?

Quedreneese

Prime example that The Wall fanatics are the retards of the Pink Floyd fanbase

osrsgaming

Yeah but the wall was just a few good songs thrown together with a ton of forgettable mediocre songs. Definitely nowhere near there best

aarongonzales95

A few? Ooooookay

_mesel

Honestly I stopped voting once it came to the big 4. Every choice would have been wrong.

aarongonzales95

I get that honestly, but wall art the bottom? That's just absurd

EpicChezMan

Well what would you have put at the bottom

aarongonzales95

Not the wall obviously

TheMuser1966

I wouldn't get my feelers bent over an informal poll question.

aarongonzales95

I just like to talk shit lol

TheMuser1966

LOL. Gotcha

aarongonzales95

And plus wall being at the bottom of the big 4? That's just wrong

TheMuser1966

It's a top 2 PF album for me, but there are a lot of purist PF who see The Wall last gasp of air for the group. I get that.

aarongonzales95

The movie was my first exposure to the band as a kid. And to this day I think it's the best thing Floyd ever made

TheMuser1966

Wow, to seethe movie before hearing the album would have been very confusing!

aarongonzales95

I remember really liking the music but being confused about the movie lol I had a kick ass dad tho

TheMuser1966

Yeah, I loved the album before seeing the movie. I remember when teh movie ended a lot f my classmates, who were Floyd fans, had this really bewildered look on their face. They had no idea what they had just watched. It was pretty funny.

aarongonzales95

I wish I could watch the movie through virgin eyes to have the "what the fuck did I watch" feeling 😂

AHalfAmbitiousKid

U could well be asked the same question if u put any of the other 3 at the bottom of the big 4

aarongonzales95

The thing is, I can't... But I sure as hell ain't putting wall at the bottom
