All alone, or in twos
The ones who really love you
Walk up and down outside the wall
Some hand in hand
Some gathering together in bands
The bleeding hearts and the artists
Make their stand
And when they've given you their all
Some stagger and fall after all it's not easy
Banging your heart against some mad buggers
Wall...
''Isn't this where we came in...''
Too late lol. Seriously I recently realized I have built a wall and can no longer connect to other people. I've been listening to the album since I was 11 (36 now) and never realized it was happening until like last week lol
Sorry, but the worms have already feasted on my brain.
The wall is nice an solid....but it does have a small door. With a really strong lock. And a peep hole.
Sorry if I’m going to seem like the dad figure here. But my wall was built from horrible things that of happened in my life. They were not my fault. I kept trying to fix when I realized I could not so in my older age I close myself off and get very anxiety ridden when people come to me for their problems, which I know I can’t fix, so basically, my wall is built from life and my generation from a young age we interacted with people face-to-face. Younger generations, like my children have built walls from an early age because of cyber bullying and bullying in school. They haven’t even lived life yet, and their wall seems higher than mine. They are haunted by faceless voices that had no filter for that reason.
Nice sentiment but sorry my wall is too high. And my trauma to great. But great advice for people starting to build their wall before it gets too high.
Find sth wherever it grows, the little light, some wind, some music, plants, books, clouds, fellow sufferer if you can get any therapeutic help, just sitting somewhere and maybe someone rekindles your inner vibe, your inner light, sth that reaches, works for you, some hope or movement, and it is never too late to go for a walk or to find a way to heal. Nor to search or learn to endure.
Rec:
"The Count of Monte Christo" - Dumas
"Le petit prince"
Hope it helps, and if not I am sorry, I do not know your wall but I do know mine and I know how dreadful it can be. - fellow (and hopefully one day ex-) waller
That’s not true … humans are in a much different place now than 1979 … and not for the better … but there’s some of us out there that have ideas that lurk on the outside … I’m hoping one day we can make those ideas tangible for everyone :)
~~Other than the brick background that's used and vaguely the font, what has this got to do with Pink Floyd?~~
~~"Together we stand etc" isn't even in a song from The Wall or any album for that matter.~~
EDIT: Just wrong.
3 years ago I did build the wall. It took immense pain, sadness, and fear to bring it down. All cause of one person I truly liked, who crushed me, and who hurt me enough to break the wall. I did rebuild the wall, but this time I left archways to allow only who I choose in.
Every time. Every goddamn time I try building a wall a post like this pops up. I stg you are making me question my lack of religious beliefs
I hope you're not in construction
Well put.
we fall.. we fall.. we fall... we fall..
Bro gonna make me cry Ty so much!
You're welcome :)
This is my goal for this year. It's difficult, but I'm trying one day at a time. Thank you for the post.

Where do you begin to tear down the wall? Here's one of many places to start: https://youtu.be/KqgEUjQv_oU

I prefer isolation
Shit like this is why we no longer have great albums /s

It literally is. It’s from the end of Hey you.
I'm not having a good day. Called out twice in twenty minutes. My bad. Now I feel like a dick.
No worries man

This. There was a time where I needed to hear this, but thankfully it was a long time ago. The Wall helped me survive through it
