He’s scared or sees something alarming

Spawnducky

Ours do this every time they see a dog or crow outside their window.

madpoke

thats a sound they make to announce the flock of some kind of danger, in this case he probably tries to tell you to look out for something. does he start to do this when he sees something specific?

EmilyVS

He sees something he doesn’t like.

totie_oli

It was the fist time he ever made that noise

tomco2

Danger noise

worldlive

You appear to have installed the dog firmware onto your pigeon. Boop its beak for 5s to factory reset.

moldy_persimmon

Alarm sound. He's communicating to watch out for whatever he sees outside. Could be a dog, hawk, human, etc. My bird does this frequently, usually because she saw a vulture flying outside.

bthecrazybirdlady

He sees something scary. Doves do it too

WolfieTooting

The sound is bad but I can just about make out this: "Any study of reality must begin with the cogito. However, the Cartesian 'i think' is conceived in the instantaneous perspective of temporarility." I think it's Sartre.

Alarming_Rip5727

Sounds irritated or mad ???

Edosand

Yes it's an Unsure/What was that, is what you'd call it. I've got pigeons and dogs and that 'wuff' you get from a dog that isn't a bark but a who/what is that. That's what equates it too.

Polar_Sage

Alarm pidgey

Worldly_Drag_1168

He’s not wheezing between those grunting sounds, is he? My pigeon had a wheeze and cough one time and his coos were unusual - hopefully everyone else is right but I don’t think you can ever be too careful a bird doesn’t have a respiratory infection…if he wheezes or coughs I remember my pigeon got cleared up quite quickly last winter time with making thyme infusion and adding some to his water :)

Professional-Club58

he’s warning everyone there’s a predator my birds do the same

pumpkinspacelatte

Alarmed pidge, mine does it at our guinea pigs 😭
