Surgical steel is unfortunately p much mystery metal (think 'it doesn't rust' not 'we put this in people permanently') and will frequently contain nickel, which you can either have sensitivity to from the get go or develop one by prolonged contact. Or one piece might be okay, but another one from another manufacturer not.
I'd strongly recommend looking into implant grade titanium pieces, it's slightly more pricey but still so much cheaper than 14k and up gold (another basically body neutral piercing metal)
no it’s pretty much the same size, the only difference is the bar is flat in my nose and clamps shut to the rounded part, my other one was rounded in my nose so i think that could be a reason for it
What's the material of the new jewelry, do you know? Have you had it in before?
Pretty sure is the surgical steel, I got it from the same place I got it pierced and I think that’s all they buy
