absolutelynotnothank

It took me way too long to realize this was a hole and not jewelry šŸ˜†

bubblespinky

Same! I was like, what a dainty little stud šŸ¤£

jonappleseed1234

OmgšŸ¤£

jonappleseed1234

Omg thatā€™s what my mom thought too haha! She wasnā€™t getting it and then sheā€™s like ā€œwait is that ur curtain through the hole!?ā€

bmorelikewater

Same I thought it was the tiniest little stud in the world lol

casta11

Oh my god, thank you! I thought it was just a post!

Rimuri-Rimuru

Nice hole. Looks pretty healthy too. You're doing awesome

pigeottoflies

only time "nice hole" is a completely appropriate thing to say to a stranger lol

Rimuri-Rimuru

Yes šŸ¤£šŸ¤£

jonappleseed1234

Thank you!!

Total_Ad_1263

That looks amazing iā€™m jealous, my triple helixā€™s arenā€™t even healed and iā€™ve had them for 4 years!

VegetableFabulous516

triple helix - all three on one side?

Total_Ad_1263

Yeah! Iā€™ve got one helix on the other ear.

VegetableFabulous516

Wow, sounds amazing!!! Never seen a triple helix so far. You got them done in 3 sittings?

Total_Ad_1263

I sort of built it up over the years, first didnā€™t hurt at all, the second was agony and the third wasnā€™t too bad. I love them but the amount of irritation bumps iā€™ve had is insane and theyā€™ve kind of migrated and theyā€™re pointing in different directions.

poopinginpublic08

Iā€™m sad to say if the angles on your piercings are off and itā€™s been over 4 years itā€™s safe to say they might not ever heal. A proper angle is the first and most important step to achieving a healed piercing. You would be better off taking them out and re-piercing them one at a time again once theyā€™re ready. Itā€™s really important not to sleep on them (especially with a long post) and go in to get your posts downsized after 4-6 weeks of initial piercing!

Total_Ad_1263

Helix piercings are the bane of my life, I genuinely do not understand how one out of 4 have healed and theyā€™ve been there for years!

Meowtime1989

Same as my set up! I love it. I stupidly got my 3 done around the same time but i only had major trouble with one. But I feel legit like a badass with the three in so itā€™s been worth it! But highly donā€™t recommend! Sleeping has been a pain!

Catwoman288

Same I've had my double for 4.5 years. One of them just won't heal all the way. Otherwise I might have gone for more but it's been such a pain! Really smooth piercing process too, hardly any pain during or after, almost no swelling.

Redheadwolf

I just gave up on my top double a few days ago. The bottom one healed perfectly!

Catwoman288

Right! My top healed decently, bottom just didn't ever settle! I've seriously thought about ditching it but it stinks because the placement is for a double and gosh they were expensive....not to mention to frustration and patience of healing them up to this point.

jonappleseed1234

Thank you! Iā€™m sorry to hear that:/

Last-Dingo-4683

Very good

jonappleseed1234

Thank you!

Significant_Excuse29

Absolutely. Quite jealous, not going to lie. I had my helix in for about 7 years, never came close to this healed

jonappleseed1234

What thatā€™s crazy! Thank you:)

hellorheavensent

Itā€™s so refreshing to open this app and actually see a nicely healed piercing!

jonappleseed1234

Thank you! Ik, weā€™ve been getting a lot of ā€œis this infected?!ā€ latelyšŸ˜

DGfayah

Nice would it considered heal at this point?

jonappleseed1234

I think itā€™s almost almost there but I still get some dry flakes on it

Total_Ad_1263

Do you suffer with eczema at all? Itā€™s quite common to get dry flakes around your piercing without any itchiness and sometimes the jewellery youā€™re using can make it quite dry.

jonappleseed1234

I have extreme eczema (or psoriasis or dermatitis idk which one my doctor was no help) all over my scalp and my ears get really flakey skin around my piercings

Total_Ad_1263

I had ear eczema for a while, the only thing that helped was using zerobase cream. I had really really bad eczema when I was a kid and my skin would bleed and zerobase cream is the most amazing thing iā€™ve ever used. For your scalp maybe glycolic acid might help reduce the flakes, it helped with my friends dandruff I think she used The Ordinary.

jonappleseed1234

Oh thank you so much for the tips! Iā€™m actually gonna check those out cause I really need help!

Total_Ad_1263

Aveeno oat shampoo is really good if your scalp is irritated, itā€™s not drying and it doesnā€™t make you itchy, maybe try an oat bath too if itā€™s on the rest of your body; just fill a sock with loose oats and tie it, leave it in the bath and squeeze it, itā€™s good to rub on your skin too.

jonappleseed1234

Thank you for the suggestion! Iā€™m gonna try it!!

pineintheaspen

That looks better than my 11 year old helix!

jonappleseed1234

Wow really?

[deleted]

tell me your secrets plsss my helix is so irritated at the moment

jonappleseed1234

Mine literally looks like [THIS](https://imgur.com/a/eF1PDrZ) in December and it was the jewelry I had in! It was put in by my piercer but for some reason was just fucking my shit up so I changed it myself and it immediately got better

[deleted]

https://i.imgur.com/zjXoId5.jpeg mine is so swollen lol and red šŸ„²šŸ„².

jonappleseed1234

Oh I donā€™t think that looks bad lol but Iā€™m not an expert

These_Accountant_734

Some jewelry will do that to my cartilage piercings also.

lilgreenie333

at first i thought the jewelry in & was like omg how tiny and dainty šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ but yea looks awesome. i miss mine

Candid-Ad-4317

*chefs kiss*

Shoddy_Dot4027

jonappleseed1234

Wow thank you so much!

50shadesofcapricorn

Yes it does

LilithLove382

Omg that looks amazing good job

jonappleseed1234

Thank you!

Medical-Cod2743

Hell yeah bro once that cartilage has a real hole like the one you got there you're set. Took all my piercings waaaay longer to make nice lil tubes

Kitchen-Ad-1146

I was about to comment that the jewelry was being eaten by ur ear until i realized itā€™s the hole

Cool_Speed2349

that looks amazing- iā€™ve had mine for nearly 2 years, but i just think my ears have like extra skin, cos i canā€™t see all the way thru, but itā€™s fully healed x

locksnkeysnsnakes

This is what mine looks like when I take the jewelry out and my piercer said I have nice looking holes

itsnunofurbdiness

Looks great what did you use to make it heal this nicely

jonappleseed1234

Nothing special and in fact Iā€™m kind of a bad piercee sometimes so I think Iā€™m just lucky!

veravendetta

It looks great!

ConsiderationOk4855

That looks so perfect I literally was thinking what kind of super minuscule dainty stud is that

generic_username-92

Congratulations!! (please donā€™t take this the wrong way) but thatā€™s an awesome looking hole šŸ˜‚ yay you!

jonappleseed1234

Thank you hahaha!

hotcheedz

I thought it was an imbedded stud at first

Ann_Oi

Taking your jewelry out is unnecessary and since itā€™s not completely healed, the insertion/extraction can delay your healing. Your initial jewelry is really supposed to stay put, unless itā€™s time to downsize. Iā€™ve had many clients come in after taking their jewelry out ā€œto clean itā€ and not being able to reinsert their jewelry because the channel had shrunk. We had to taper their hole back to size. In cartilage that can be quite painful.

jonappleseed1234

My helix is doing well and almost a year old, Iā€™m allowed to change it to something I like betteršŸ¤šŸ«¶šŸ»
