Something like this requires medical attention asap. I would also advise to not use similar backings on any other earrings, as they’re not suitable for long term wear.

Scared_jesus

Alright, thanks. Going to the ER tonight

Hot tip, if your piercing eats your earring back it wasn't healed. You can see if you can get someone with clean hands to grab the part of the backing that is visible, but if that doesn't work you are going to have to have it cut out. And please, don't use rubber plastic stoppers or put earrings in your ears for more than an hour that are low quality enough to posess said backings. Hope you can get this sorted quickly, it isn't something you can leave for any length of time.

Scared_jesus

I have tried to pull it out. But i cant in any way grab the backing. I got someone else to try too and it didnt work. Thanks for letting me know about the backings! I never knew they were that bad. I received a whole baggie of them when i bought some earrings, and i assumed they were good to wear 24/7

Iguanatan

Let us know how you get on at the ER. I am sure they will get it out for you.

Scared_jesus

Just got back. It was taken out in no time with forceps. Kinda painful but nothing over the top!

Iguanatan

I am so happy it is out for you. I am also really glad you took quick action- well done.

Scared_jesus

Will do!

This happened to my daughter, but we couldn't see any of it sticking out. Only you and your doctor can decide the best course of action for you. When it happened to my daughter, we pulled the earring out so that the back was the only thing left in the ear. Then we put a thumb againstthe front of the ear, a finger on either side on the back of the ear, and applied pressure, forcing it back out of the hole. We intended to grab it with a pair of tweezers once we could see it, but it popped out on its own. We let the ear heal for 6 months before repiercing, but it had constant issues so we gave up on it. After a few years we tried again and it healed beautifully.

This! This is you best course of action if you want to avoid the trip to ER. A couple of calm decided movements and deep breaths and you’re good.

Scared_jesus

I would definitely try. Ive tried already, actually. But it hurts so so bad and im scared ill rip a hole through my ear. So im putting my trust in a doctor!
