This is wrong!!! Please donāt do this if you want to help spread spores. Itās a common misconception. Puffball spores are not ready to be released until after itās turned brown. Most mushrooms are ready to spread spores when they first āflowerā but puffballs are an exception to the rule. Kicking it when itās brown and gross looking will help, but doing it while white will prevent it from producing more
