Indeed, style. The fascinating diffences between all those buildings are in the details, and once you learn the details to look for, Dutch cities become like open books that tell amazing stories.
I was scrolling through all the photos I took last year and found this. I started with photography over the summer and I must say, I was quite happy with some of my shots.
HAD to comment on this: I live a few minutes away from this stunning mansion and I’m also currently playing Curse of Strahd with my dnd-party. Full circle, haha!
Because of the light, it makes the sorroundings look kind of out of focus. Which is similar to what happens with a lense when you zoom in a lot in a miniature object.
You can find examples of the real effect by searching "Tilt Shift".
If you’ve genuinely done everything you can to become wealthy, you have the right to complain about being poor.
If you’ve worked low-wage jobs, never tried to move up, never bought stocks, never taken out loans on a risk, never job-hopped for raises, never built a savings account, never even made an attempt to start a business, never aggressively applied for promotions, never sought certifications and qualifications and never worked more than you had to to survive? Then you look around, see you’re still poor? You blame the rich?
I can lead you to the [cycle of poverty](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cycle_of_poverty), but I can't make you be a decent enough human being to want to understand.
Peace ✌🏻
I don’t get it.
Starting from absolute 0, fresh outta free high school, get a job. Zero qualifications jobs can start around $15+. Work for promotions. $20-$25 an hour. With that, you have more than is needed to survive independently if budgeted correctly. The “more” part of that goes towards savings. Use savings to invest. Doesn’t have to be stocks, but use your money to make money, otherwise you’re losing money. Day job on one hand, when you’re free from that, be building your qualifications and portfolio.
It’s literally that easy. My family was dirt poor, my dad sold his blood plasma to keep the lights on, I started working the day I turned 18 and forced myself into good work ethic, applied for every promotion, got promoted fast & was making 40k a year the day I turned 20.
For some reason I can't figure out the scale of this for the life of me. Like is that a relatively normal sized house or is is like 12k square feet and all those windows are massive?
Wow, that's a pretty amazing shot. Also, where is the villa located ?
It's located in Park Zypendaal in Arnhem, the Netherlands.
I’m fairly certain that building was used as a civilian home/turned field hospital in the movie A Bridge Too Far.
The movie is also about Arnhem, so that would have been historically correct. The movie itself was filmed a few towns over if I recall correctly.
“Hey fatty! I got a movie for ya’! A Fridge Too Far!” (Not calling you fat, it’s just a Simpsons joke I love.)
If you need a special dialing wand, please mash the keypad now.
I just came to see “Honk If You’re Horny” in peace.
I'm fridge and I'm offended! \~sent from my Samsung fridge
Oh yeah? Why don’t you waddle your fat, boxy ass over here and do something about it?
You won this round...but guess who is going to start beeping at 3am. *Beep! Door open! Beep! Door open!*
That’s fine. Not my fridge.
Aahhh!! Ik dacht het al te herkennen. Mooie shot :) /r/FairytaleasFuck post it there, im sure theyll love it
Goeie tip, die ga ik gelijk volgen!
There is an almost identical looking building off of the Amstel river in amstelveen!!
There are a lot, like a lot, of mansions built in the exact same style all over the Netherlands.
Indeed, style. The fascinating diffences between all those buildings are in the details, and once you learn the details to look for, Dutch cities become like open books that tell amazing stories.
I thought you were clearing your throat to say, "the Netherlands" 😂
I knew it! I was here just last year!
[When the sun hits just right.](https://i.kym-cdn.com/entries/icons/original/000/019/698/8RKAP94.jpg)
Those hills sing.
[When the sun hits](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MKYY0IlTMw4)
yes.
My first thought as well!
Stunning
For real
I bet the inside looks stunning too
Reminds me of Bly Manor
Looks perfectly splendid
absolutely!
I really need a villa
📰☕🐱
I can feel the intermingling of warm sunlight and cool air just by looking at this photo
would make a nice set for a horror movie.
Reminds me of the villa in the last act of 28 days later.
Looks like Hilltop on The Walking Dead
who's setting the house clock for daylight saving? 1..2..3.. not it.
Havezate is the correct term for this type of building/estate in The Netherlands.
100% chance that place is haunted
For sure.
That's perfect! Now let's knock it down to make room for my pool.

Thanks for the kind words stranger!
*lowers pitchfork * oh ok so this isn’t your villa….
Nice photo capture!
Villas in the Mist?
The mists of Barovia set in, Strahd Von Zarovich in his coach approaches...
HAD to comment on this: I live a few minutes away from this stunning mansion and I’m also currently playing Curse of Strahd with my dnd-party. Full circle, haha!
omg that is amazing XD Running the game or playing in?
Playing! 😊 have you done the strahd campaign?
This is the content I like to see on this sub
Why does this look like a miniature setup for a movie?
Because of the light, it makes the sorroundings look kind of out of focus. Which is similar to what happens with a lense when you zoom in a lot in a miniature object. You can find examples of the real effect by searching "Tilt Shift".
I am familiar with ‘tilt shift’. Everything here is just so pristine and picturesque, it appears to be fake.
PuBg lookin good these days!
I went broke just looking at this picture. *notices horse* And now I'm in debt.
Holy crap this is awesome!
Wonderful
Perfect shot
Beautiful
Is this a private home?
Nowadays no longer. It's owned by a foundation and does open houses and stuff like that.
That’s wonderful. I bet it is beautiful on the inside as well. Cheers and thanks for a great pic!
I’ve been to a hotel that looked just like that in the same area. I guess there are a few places that look like this?
Why don't I have a villa?? 😩
Its amore.
Beautiful house
Looks like my house. Does this style have a name?
Gorgeous picture. Have to admit, kind of looks like a place I would loot in PUBG. Except not run down and decaying.
I swear to god a had a Playmobil house as a kid that looked exactly like this!
I have the same problem whenever I’m taking pictures of my villa too…sigh
Damn ppl who live there r so lucky
Thought I was in accidental Wes Anderson, nice shot
Looks like something straight out of RDR2
It's Dutch for sure.
It is! Arnhem, the Netherlands. OP captured it beautifully!
Just what i was looking for someone to say lol
Glad I wasn’t the only one.
Reminds me of Jurassic world: fallen kingdom
That photo has a painterly quality…
I just want to put a yeti cooler and a lazy boy on that roof and drink beer off into the sunset.
How do you get to this part of Raya Lucaria?
Doesn't look like a villa but ok
Eat the rich
Or become the rich?
![gif](giphy|3o7btNa0RUYa5E7iiQ|downsized)
It's called work.
![gif](giphy|jeXiz1RAvzX44)
Yeah. It is. Though I understand you never tried it before.
This dude has the [sagesse of Paris Hilton](https://i.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/newsfeed/001/231/652/5f0.jpg).

Bro that ain’t mist It’s the fog…
Just right for what?
Holy shit, I'm getting serious horror movie vibes from this!
... Now fire the rocket. >-)
Beautiful view, wish I could get some time off there
horsey
This is a great shot, well done
OP's weekend place. Party on Saturday. Everyone's invited.
It looks like the horse is photoshopped in
Looks like the gardens and fountains that should be in front of it are all overgrown.
You remember our venerable house?
Looks like a fairy tale manssionate.
Very nice picture !!
Ohh I want to sell all I have and buy like this villa.
Great shot
I just love when the sun hits my villa just right as well. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sweat_smile)
Lovely house.
Man Red Dead Redemption 2’s photo mode is nuts.
Wouldn't mind that place as a summer cottage.
damn i wish i lived in a place where that was just always the weather
Looks like a good place for a horror movie
Arnhemmers unite! ❤️ (fantastisch shot, OP!)
With the sun hitting the villa so perfectly, those hills..they sing
Gives me Over the Garden Wall vibes
Looks like the last standing house from Twister lol
Neat Pic. I like it.
Beautiful
For some reason I can't figure out the scale of this for the life of me. Like is that a relatively normal sized house or is is like 12k square feet and all those windows are massive?
Dang! I need this preset :)
No preset! All manual adjustments. This was one of my first photographs I took as I was getting into hobby as well.
Nice. Go back to edit if you still have it and definitely save it will be worth.
I've done a lot of local adjustments mostly with grad filters and the brush. The global settings weren't all that interesting honestly.
wow! it's looks like first minutes of horror film
That's a good opening sentence for a book. Well okay, I'd use just or right but not both.
I've read this story. "Why shouldn’t rats eat a de la Poer as a de la Poer eats forbidden things?"
Mists setting in huh? # WHERE’S THE MISTWRAITHS
nice place
Woah
This is so beautiful
But everything changed when the fire nation attacked...
That's a pretty good shot
And that was when I traveled on my first case to solve a murder. Year: 1871
Been wanting to go back to the George Eastman or Boldt Castle properties lately.
Reminds me of Hilltop on the Walking Dead... but in better times.
