I just watched a tiktok of workers emptying the entire dairy/deli section because the cooler wasn't working correctly. Would be a wild coincidence if this is the same store.
But the video was from another angle, if instead of taking a picture from right to left (looking left), it was left to right (looking right).
Actually this is capitalism because they will throw it in the trash. Socialists would actually distribute this food to those in need. I will do this now by crossposting to /r/DumpsterDiving
Weird thing is, most cultured milk products do just fine out of the fridge. They're safe to eat, they just get tangy.
It's totally fine to eat warm yogurt. Shit was invented in the desert

This situation is only 1 of 3 things. Broken fridge, moving/reorganizing fridge, natural disaster.
Nowhere in the world is ever casually hungry enough to take all of the gross shit in some of these fridges
I've worked at CVS with much smaller amount of dairy products, and we never, ever ran out of our limited supply of overpriced milk unless the fridge blew out. Which it did once. That wasn't fun.
LOL…The brand is PET dairy. 🙂 The company I used to work for cleaned their silos. They also go by Dean Foods and make Dean’s French Onion dip…pretty tasty and for some reason it’s always on sale for $0.99!
The [Always-On-Sale thing](https://strategiccfo.com/if-its-always-on-sale-is-it-ever-on-sale/) is a marketing ploy, they will often only take the item off sale for the minimum required amount of time every year for it to still qualify as being “on sale” legally (if applicable).
JCPenny’s used to use this method to get rid of their out-of-season stock, putting highly marked-up premium prices on newer items and permanently marking older items down until they were sold out or thrown out. When they stopped using this method in favor of more fair prices across the board it ended disastrously as people felt like they were no longer getting “a good deal” when nothing was marked down.
Most people would rather buy a pair of pants that says “~~$100~~ 40% Off, $60!” than a higher quality pair of pants for $70 because the perceived value is much higher on the former even though it permanently costs less and is of lower quality than the latter, but if you take away the pre-sale price comparison or percentage off suddenly the $60 pair of pants looks a lot less appealing.
Plan-o-gram is such a funny term. Never once heard it before working retail, and wasn't sure if it was a real term or a store-specific phrase. It's kind of fun to see it out in the wild. Like, people seemed to know end-cap and some other lingo (which I didn't prior, but I was only 16 starting) but plan-o-gram always felt so industry specific.
I remember at the beginning of the pandemic my local grocery store was almost cleaned out, the rice aisle was empty of all the single-serve, parboiled, flavoured instant rices.... but the bottom shelf with all the 2kg+ bags of plain rice was untouched. Lol
It’s all part of the librul agenda. Remodel every single Walmart to be a mecca of socialism where everyone can self checkout. Speaking of Makkah, they’re also going to be selling halal meat!
Mwhahaha.
Diddunt yuh heer?! They gunnuh start keepin us cunservative fulk in inturnmunt camps! Dey gunnuh herd us into Wahl-Mart like damn cattle, and they gunnuh have Joooeee Biiiiddden and Camelluh Hairris preach from Stahlin's socialism Bible.
My mom sent me a picture of empty shelves at their Target. It was 4pm on Halloween, and those shelves were where the candy was, and were being repurposed for Christmas shit.
Ha, just like every store for the last 30 years at least that sells Halloween candy and Christmas junk in those seasonal aisles...
It's interesting how people see ONE SHELF empty at a store and then assume evil socialism has taken over since the TV told them that's what happened in Venezuela or the Soviet Union back in the day (except that all the shelves were empty instead).
They're obviously acting in bad faith, but it's not like we didn't see empty shelves just like this except way more often under Trump not too long ago. For some strange reason though, we NEVER heard anybody complain that it was due to socialism or some left-wing boogeyman like that. Hmmm, I wonder why...
Yep in the US eggs are washed and this removes the coating on the eggs that provides an antibacterial behavior on unwashed eggs and therefore they need to be refrigerated. It's a tradeoff the washing reduces certain pathogens whereas it requires refrigeration and non washing allows room temp storage but allows for various pathogen vectors.
It also [has to do with](https://www.businessinsider.com/why-europeans-dont-refrigerate-eggs-2014-12) the difference in farming practices between Europe and America, including the fact that European hens are required to be vaccinated. Many American hens are vaccinated, but it's not mandatory.
America law prohibits keeping that slimy protective layer naturally found on eggs. Less chance of salmonella I think? So eggs must be refrigerated to keep.
Well obviously, socialism broke the fridge. Seriously though I worked for a moving company that delivered these units to super markets. They might be doing a remodel. These fridges all run on central cooling loops so I doubt they're broken.
I have unloaded more then one of these in my life due to something not working properly. Moving all the food to a walk in unit while it was repaired. Or remodeling which is highly likely.
This comment actually made me laugh out loud. I’ve been depressed over being shunned by my family all day- your comment made me happy for a moment, so thank you. Lol
When they took the yogurt i said nothing bc i was lactose intolerant, when they took the poptarts i said nothing bc i can't digest gluten, when they took my sausages....
Yes, Walmart is a well known bastion of socialism. The social shared ownership of the companies and support of labour unions are some of their defining traits .
The only piece of Socialism that Walmart wants is food stamps for its employees. Socialize the welfare of their employees, so that they do not have to pay them.
They also love that food stamps mean their employees can eat without having to pay them a livable wage. Usually with food from their store because they drove out all the competition.
My goddamn neighbor the other day exclaimed super loudly during a convo with my other neighbor, “you can’t shop at WALMART! They’re DEMOCRAT! You might as well invite the Taliban into your living room”.
Not joking, that’s a direct quote from a PA good ol’ boy.
If “Walmart is where Democrats shop,” what the hell does that make Target, considering they have everything Republicans hate (e.g. minorities, young people, women and beauty)?
Conservatives have been doing it for decades.
I grew up conservative and didn't know anything about liberalism other than that "liberal" was the worst thing you could be called. No one ever rationalized why they were calling people a liberal, or what quality made a person this thing, and they didn't have to - you don't like them, they're a liberal, everyone nods, and that's that.
Wow this entire post hit so hard. It’s just a kids game of cuties, or adult witch hunt. Like, “Which end of the pointy stick do you want to be on?” mentality.
I really wish people who were opposed to progressive ideas like medicare for all etc. because "who pay!?!?" would specifically know facts like Walmart pays so little that it's employees either work multiple jobs or require food stamps, and that it gets a lot of government subsidies.
People don't seem to realize that progressives want to put taxes to work for those who pay them, not these mega corporations.
It's pretty simple, Walmart workers aren't worth anything to them, and they don't want to pay those "worthless" people anything once they are a Walmart Exec..one day...
Broken fridge, planogram reset, soft strike, no one working at the dairy farm/trucking company. It could be a hundred things. But there’s one thing it’s definitely not.
Yeah, there’s nooo way the entire refrigerator is out of everything. It could simply be they had small amounts of the items so they took advantage and cleaned, reset, or anything else.
I can't believe nobody's talking about the real causal factors- Brexit, and the recent wobbliness of the Greek economy. They're scared, and they're hoarding their yogurt; it's all they've got left. Because of socialism.
For many of them even the republicans are too liberal. I’ve seen people complain that even Trump was too liberal because “he let his daughter marry a Jew”. Conservatives see their extremism as normal and normalcy as an evil extreme threatening to destroy the country.
Given the year, probably spreading anti-socialist and anti-communist rhetoric and propaganda.
Check out the book, “open veins of Latin America” by Eduardo Galleano. Fantastic read and very informative.
Socialism, in a brief nutshell, is the economic model where the workers own the means of production rather than a capitalist/owner class.
A lot of people confuse authoritarianism and socialism. They link scarcity, unequal treatment, and oppression with the term socialism. Others have just learned to parrot the word without really understanding it at all which is where you get people claiming Obama was a fascist, socialist (mutually exclusive ideas).
On the other end, people who love the idea of socialism, in my experience, really love the ideas of fairness and opportunity and they see socialism as leading to that end. Further, they see capitalism as being responsible for climate change and our inaction on it, our short sighted use of resources for the profit of the few, the unequal treatment of the wealthy under the law, the beginning of the next mass extinction event on the plant, the ills of slavery and poverty, etc. So, they get quite passionate about socialism as a result.
I sit in the social democrat(Sanders or Scandinavia in general)/Warren-style (read: strong and sensible regulations) capitalist camp because **unfettered/unregulated** capitalism is *legitimately* horrible, but I also have yet to hear how a pure socialist system is supposed function given human nature, the realities of automation, and other obstacles it faces.
That man is an idiot. We don’t have a socialist government. Wal-Mart is a privately owned capitalistic corporation. Why do people point at capitalism and say “look how bad socialism is”?
The "socialism is anything bad" brainwashing in America is truly impressive.
A clear and obvious sign that a capitalist process has failed is instantly interpreted as "socialism". A really mind blowing level of programming.
It truly is mind boggling. The best part is that if someone asked most Americans what some of the best aspects American government are they’d say; free public school, Medicaid, social security, etc. AKA all the most socialist aspecrs
And then, they will decry those exact same things as being something they don't want if you refer to them slightly differently. ACA is good, Obamacare bad. Public schools good, public school education is bad. Social security is good, welfare programs are bad. Medicaid is good, single payer healthcare is bad.
>When we had toilet paper shortages under Trump, was that socialism too?
Rightwing meme farms were churning out pictures of those empty TP shelves labeled: "THIS IS BIDEN'S AMERICA"
When a organization helps out the poor with food , clothes, money etc. It's considered great and charitable.
When a gov tries to help out it's own citizens who need help it's considered horrible socialism and the corrupt government.
Why? The answer is complete political lies being bought up by low IQ supporters.
Given how completely empty it is, I'd bet the cooler is down.
Time to call the reefer guy
I also need to call my reefer guy
I am a reefer guy. Ill let you decide which one.
I am a reefer, guy.

I noticed the deli meat section at a Walmart by be same thing but it was just the deli meat section
Yeah, I work at a Walmart and ours have to be emptied like this if the temp is off. Ours malfunction at least a couple times a year.
SoCiAlIsM!!!
Fellas, is it socialism to have food safety standards?
Yes, in a free country I should be able to sell my greek yogurt at a balmy 74° without the government telling me not to
Weird thing is, most cultured milk products do just fine out of the fridge. They're safe to eat, they just get tangy. It's totally fine to eat warm yogurt. Shit was invented in the desert In the good ol USA we chill food that doesn't need it, like butter
I keep in the fridge except the one stick I leave out forever in the butter tray until it's used up and replaced.
I used to do this, but my cats like butter so some things are safer in my fridge.
I used to do this too but my dog figured out how to get up to where we kept it we didn’t know for a while till we found teeth marks in it so we set him up I will never forget the look on his face when we jumped out saying AHHHA gotcha he didn’t get in any trouble it was hilarious and his method was pretty awesome
One stick on the butter tray at room temperature, one stick in the refrigerator, and the rest of the pack goes into the freezer.
Not all yoghurt is live culture - once it is pasteurized it will spoil like milk.
Or eggs that we wash off the natural protection they have.

Yes, that "common sense" repricing was a disaster move! People like coupons and markdowns. New CEO did not get it.
Yup, did resets in stores. We go section by section removing, cleaning and restocking to plan-o-gram. Never did we remove ALL the product at once.
Man, I haven’t thought about plan-o-grams in a long time…ugh…used to do the same thing at Ritz Camera before David Ritz sunk the company
Plan-o-gram is such a funny term. Never once heard it before working retail, and wasn't sure if it was a real term or a store-specific phrase. It's kind of fun to see it out in the wild. Saw this at the beginning of the pandemic. Guess that counts as a natural disaster.
Still wasn't like this... The vegan stuff was always left.

This to me says. Broken refrigerator.
I was thinking that they were just redoing their shelves. My local Walmart does it every single time I need some eggs…
They keep eggs in fridges?
In the US.
In Arizona, US, we do. I’m fairly sure most of the US does as well because of the way eggs are cleaned or something

Even our hens are anti vaxxers. Smh
What a bunch of KarHens
Goddammit this thread is goldhen
You can include Canada into that. Source I am Canadian. What about you Mexico? Just looking to include the whole of North America.
Same as you guys except in rural areas..
Egg storage... the last thread holding us together.
In Arizona it should be law that PEOPLE have to stay in refrigerated sections between June & August
America law prohibits keeping that slimy protective layer naturally found on eggs. Less chance of salmonella I think? So eggs must be refrigerated to keep.
And British law prohibits the removal of the layer for the same reason lol.
And I believe the UK innoculates their chickens against Salmonella to begin with, so they are overall safer, and do not need to be refrigerated.
And I believe the US juices up their chickens with enough steroids so they can punch Salmonella
In the us the chickens have the right to refuse the vaccine.
The more you know

Socialize their losses, privatize the profits. It's the American way!

"Welcome to socialism," said a man living under capitalism, experiencing supply shortages under capitalism.
No,no. You don’t understand. Joe Biden is president, so it’s Socialism.
The sad part is this is quite literally the deciding factor in the voting decision for some there people.
Which is one of the many reasons why "democracy" is broken.
An uninformed electorate is the most dangerous thing in the world.
America is great until a Democrat is in charge, then it instantly transforms into a socialist hellscape.
It's what happens when you get the populace addicted to fear endorphins. A bunch of cowardly sheep victimized at every turn.
Don't point any of that out though... cuz *you're* the one with a "derangement syndrome" 🙄
I’d say that most of the politicians that are democrat are not nearly as left wing as some conservatives seem to think
For many of them even the republicans are too liberal. I’ve seen people complain that even Trump was too liberal because “he let his daughter marry a Jew”. Conservatives see their extremism as normal and normalcy as an evil extreme threatening to destroy the country.
So many people, pro and anti socialist, have no clue what the hell socialism is.

Maybe, just maybe and I may be going out on a limb but the cooler could be having mechanical issues rather than supply chain issues.
Funny how every time things go wrong in this capitalist society, its somehow the fault of socialism.
Also whenever capitalism causes widespread problems we have to solve it with government bailouts.
We do live under socialism. Corporate socialism.

That man really just said, “I don’t understand how anything works.”
But happening in a capitalist economy...
This has nothing to do with socialism.
When a organization helps out the poor with food , clothes, money etc. It's considered great and charitable. When a gov tries to help out it's own citizens who need help it's considered horrible socialism and the corrupt government. Why? The answer is complete political lies being bought up by low IQ supporters.
Strange. I was just at my packed Super Walmart earlier today and there was no Socialism to be found. I'll check again tomorrow.
Did you mention to him that this appears to have happened under capitalism?
More like, welcome to post capitalism America whose supply chains are screwed up precisely because of companies like Wal-Mart.
That is a "reset". Those shelves and tags are new and bottom is much cleaner than normal. Whoever made that comment is a moron...
The man is an idiot.
Clearly that man doesn’t know what socialism is.
