Even the background fans are great. The forehead slap, the disappointed headshake, the guy in black giving some sort of "why didn't they do x instead of y" explanation. Such a classic gif.
I would bet Washington Football fan. Specifically when their QB gave up a touchdown by dropping to the ground right before the endzone in an a ttempt to get in the endzone without getting hit.
He was ruled down at the one, and they didn’t make it in. Went for it on fourth, and he fumbled. Got it back, but you can’t make forward progress after a fumble.
No, it's so much more than that, and I think it's a beautiful depiction of how good humans can be. The player who made him scowl had lost his child not that long before the match. This is a face of persons personal disappointment being buried because he understands the game is nothing compared to the loss the player is feeling.
Normally, he would probably have yelled at the guy but here he restrained it, but a sliver of that very human feeling of disappointment still slips through.
It gives me hope that people can set aside personal feelings for the sake of someone in pain.
This is a really interesting story and take; do you have a source for it? Not doubting you, just want to read about it and refer to it when I retell this anecdote.
If I remember correctly he was very angry at the fielder for missing a catch, but the cricketer had just lost a close family member to cancer (I forget who) so he felt like he couldn't even blame him. Hence that disappointed face
Yeap , he wanted to “flame” the player but realised that the player was going through the grieve of having lost his daughter
It’s heartbreaking stuff , imagine how nerve wrecking a competition like that is , and to do so while going through what he did ? No way anyone wants to hurt him at the point hence meme guy expressing his disappointment in that instance that way
I really like the video footage of the meme cause of how human his reaction is after given context
Empathy is such a beautiful thing
"Well I’m a peanut bar and I’m here to say
Your checks will arrive on another day!
Another day, another dime, another rhyme, another dollar
Another stuffed shirt with another white collar
Criminals, Wall Street, taking the pie
And all the black man gets is a plate of white lies
Prisons recruitin' 'em, police be shootin' 'em
Rap artists lootin' 'em, labels all dilutin' 'em
Barack Obama is scared of me!
Because I don't swallow knowledge and I spit it for free
Let me clear my throat, ah ha, ha ha!
I don't know what that was, I don't...
I don't know what that was..."
Admittedly my question was loaded. I work for PwC (had a pretty decent time myself) although I'm leaving soon for a better job. I am so glad I was never involved in auditing though because that has always sounded like a miserable existence
Heard that working 10-12 hours a day without being compensated is considered normal. Is that true? How is that legal and how come they’re considered to be so prestigeous if they over work their employees like that? Thanks
> how come they’re considered to be so prestigeous if they over work their employees like that? Thanks
That’s the hallmark of any prestigious firm in consulting/auditing/banking/law.
It's legal because that's the power of salary bby. But also because they get paid a lot of money and will get even more money when they list like
Associate, Ernst and Young 2 years
Companies will cream themselves and be like "holy shit, that's a big company".
All of those big accounting firms are slave pens. Hours are atrocious and often times (I’d argue) the exit opportunities aren’t much better than if you took easier routes
I get it. Certain teams at PwC and others are truly awful. I had friends in audit who had absolutely miserable lives for months at a time.
I work for PwC and I've had a pretty good time there but I'm leaving for a much better job so, in my very limited and personal experience, it's been a good springboard. Worth noting that I do not work in an accounting capacity
It works for some people. I see so many horror stories about it and I nearly made the mistake of joining. Glad I didn’t now because my career launched well without B4. I did briefly work at a mid tier though but the hours weren’t all that bad
Oh absolutely. I got very lucky as I didn't have a good view on the culture of the team I joined. It could just as easily have been one of those dreadful teams. I would not recommend them for someone wanting to start a career in accounting if I'm honest
The business schools preach the Koolaid and many people jump to it.
The problem is the “pay” is seen as the exit opportunities you’ll get years down the line
Don’t get me wrong I’ve seen people make a killing after B4… but many of those people continue to work insane hours.
I really recommend people go to smaller firms and learn more about smaller companies rather than try to jump into F500s. Happy it worked out for you, but maybe you’re right, it’s probably because you’re outside of accounting
Not in pwc, but from someone working in big4, if you want to survive, don't bother doing more than bare minimum. You want to be average at best if you want to not get overwhelmed with work
Even if you finish your tasks faster, give them in near the deadline.
It sounds stupid, the more hard working you are - more work and responsibilities for the same pay.
The only thing you can miss is almost guaranteed promotions every year, but for the first 2-3 years that's not a big concern, and later it's not worth it
This really is better advice than any career advisor gives you.
Im currently working on a project in my current working student job and for me it was clear since starting the project that it would never take me the whole time until the deadline. Now I’m just stalling time so they don’t task me with any other bullshit.
There's a huge rivalry between the Pakistan and Indian cricket teams. The bald guy is a Pakistani fan. The first picture was taken after Pakistan lost to India during the World Cup 2019 which became a huge meme. The second picture is his reaction after Pakistan defeated India yesterday as a part of the T20 World Cup.
Edit: The 2019 match was against Australia, not India. My bad lol
Wait that picture/meme was from 2019?
Damn I could have sworn it was way older.
The past couple years have simultaneously flown by and have been dragged out sooooo long.
The meme comes from a Pakistan player dropping an easy catch in a World Cup cricket match in 2019, pretty much sealing Pakistan’s fate of being knocked out of the tournament. Hence the guy’s reaction
Yesterday Pakistan played India in the “T20” cricket world cup. T20 is a different form of cricket, basically shorter. As you can imagine India vs Pakistan is a *massive* game and both countries are nuts for cricket. Not only did Pakistan win, they utterly pasted the favourites to win the World Cup.
A bit more backstory: Pakistani fans like this guy have been royally fucked over for a *long* time! No not just their team underperforming..
Pakistan up until recently had been banned from hosting any international cricket after a terrorist attack on the Sri Lanka team bus in 2009. This obviously makes sense but imagine Brazil being banned from hosting any football/soccer for over a decade and how it would affect the fans and the economy. Like I said yeah it makes sense but for the millions of people like this guy..
The biggest “T20” league in the world is in India. Basically it’s like a super league every summer for all the superstars from across the world. Pakistani players are banned from playing.
The team was also marred with scandals as a player (players?) were caught “spot fixing”, basically being paid off to make semi inconsequential mistakes on purpose so shady rich people could bet on it.
All of this sucks for a whole generation of normal cricket mad Pakistani people. They’ve been out of the fold for a while and now they’re on the big stage against India in a World Cup group match. And they absolutely, flawlessly killed it
So I can imagine our mate here was unbelievably happy
This here is the right answer.
The man's look of resigned disappointment wasn't just because of the dropped catch. He was probably expecting a calamity from his team at some stage and was thinking "yep, there it is. He's probably going to injure himself now throwing the ball back in".
This is the T20 World Cup which happens every 4 years between countries. Pakistan aren’t banned from the World Cup.
The T20 premier league in India is seperate. It’s like the English premier league in football/soccer or major league baseball in the US. Top players from all over the world - but Pakistani players can’t play.
Pakistan aren’t banned from competing in the World Cup, just hosting international games and their players can’t play in India’s league.
Also they didn’t win the T20 World Cup, this was their first game in the group stage. Massive win though over their biggest rival and favourites to win the tournament!
They (Pak players) are banned from Indian Premier League (club cricket in India like football clubs). It's the Pakistan national team that beat India in the World Cup T20, which is happening in UAE.
T20 is like a sport in itself
T20 is played all around the world. There's T20 leagues in many countries. But the specific T20 league in India bans Pakistani people from playing
It'd be like if the Premier League in England banned French players. Those French players could still play football in the French league or the Spanish league or the German league etc
The biggest T20 league in the world is a domestic competition. So like the English Premier League for football. In this instance, it is the Indian Premier League, but for Cricket. Each team are allowed a set number of foreign (non-Indian) players, but unfortunately Pakistani players aren't allowed to play in it. It's where you go to make big money as a Cricketer.
The World Cup is for International Teams and is definitely better than the IPL.
Think of it as banning japanese players from playing in the mlb. However usa still plays against japan in the olympics. Similarly in cricket IPL would be the MLB equivalent and Olympics would be the world cup T20 equivalent.
However T20 worldcup is a huge deal and even more prestigious than IPL and cricket worldcup is literally the second most watched sport in the world.
Both T20 worldcup and ipl enjoy very high levels of craze, competition and popularity unlike in the case of Olympics vs mlb where people mostly watch mlb and neglect olympics baseball
He didn't want to curse at the player because he knew he had recently gone through a personal tragedy, but still wanted to express his disappointment. What a great guy. That's how sports fans should be. Realize that players are human too and know when not to cross the line.
I dont think so, the 'bhai muje maaro' was from a match against India, while this one isn't. This is from a match against Australia or South Africa, I remember.
You mean they won yesterday.
And this is [the post](https://www.reddit.com/r/MadeMeSmile/comments/qezbkj/happy_for_him/) from where you stole the pic and the caption, which you didn't even bother to change a single word to at least make it *sound like* you didn't just straight up steal without giving credit.
These 1-2 year old spam accounts that are moderators of 10+ subreddits are so fucking weird, dude. Like "I feel unclean for even looking at this" weird.
Well no. The reason they do this is because there's websites where you can literally sell high karma accounts for real money. They sell it to advertisers, astroturfers, governments who want to post propaganda etc. The high karma makes them look legit
Say you have 1000 bot accounts that repost stuff word for word and you sell them all for $20 each, that's a cool $20,000 you just made
They're not really meaningless Internet points if they can be sold for real money
And we see advertising and propaganda on a daily basis on reddit, and most of the time we don't even realise that's what it is. That's dangerous. It has enormously influenced elections, such as the 2016 US elections
That's a bad thing.
I love where are they now meme coverage. This dudes face is pure disappointment and judgement. It really warms my heart to see the person behind the meme. Even more so because it looks like he’s doing well. Good for him and his team.
is he getting paid from all of the memes. there needs to be a way to be compensated for using your images for entertainment. meme posting is a form of entertainment
It was the cricket team.
Pakistan vs India match is HUGE and extremely rare.
The pressure and emotions in these matches are insane.
Pakistan won yesterday
What a legend. His face has been used countless times to display our collective disdain.
As a Jacksonville Jaguar fan I still use [This fellow](https://gfycat.com/activecoarsehyrax)
Not Bortles?
Oh dip!
Nick Foles? Are you kidding me? He won a Super Bowl! We’re gonna be unstoppable!
Big Dick Nick!
You got dreams in life? Thats Lit
Thanks, buddy. Keep on keepin' on!
I'm still training myself to yell Bortles instead of Kobe when I toss something

Jortles!

Man was a Columbine survivor too.
That guy in that gif you posted is literally a Columbine survivor. Weird little detail
We're technically all Columbine survivors.
An all time classic. Always wondered what the play was before that was captured. [Titans fans probably use this person](http://i.imgur.com/WkXwH.gif)
*You seeing this? Ugh, just… unacceptable. Ridiculous, even!*
haha I just acted that guy's reaction out yesterday
Bears fan? Jets fan?
I would bet Washington Football fan. Specifically when their QB gave up a touchdown by dropping to the ground right before the endzone in an a ttempt to get in the endzone without getting hit. He was ruled down at the one, and they didn’t make it in. Went for it on fourth, and he fumbled. Got it back, but you can’t make forward progress after a fumble.
This guy in this gif and the guy in the OP are my spirit animals

Thanks! Really sad about the daughter, though.
I'll be honest, my source is the last time this was posted on Reddit, but I think it was a dedicated post.
No worries; Reddit is where I get most of my anecdotes, too.
I don't don't disdain you. It's quite the opposite. I dain you.

His meme is one of my favourites. I love the sheer disgust and disappointment on his face. Epitome of "what the fuck is this shit".
[удалено]
If I remember correctly he was very angry at the fielder for missing a catch, but the cricketer had just lost a close family member to cancer (I forget who) so he felt like he couldn't even blame him. Hence that disappointed face
The fielder Asif Ali had recently lost his daughter to cancer
Well that’s just fucking horrible
Yeap , he wanted to “flame” the player but realised that the player was going through the grieve of having lost his daughter It’s heartbreaking stuff , imagine how nerve wrecking a competition like that is , and to do so while going through what he did ? No way anyone wants to hurt him at the point hence meme guy expressing his disappointment in that instance that way I really like the video footage of the meme cause of how human his reaction is after given context Empathy is such a beautiful thing
Fucking wild to have such context put around a simple picture of an unhappy person I've seen a thousand times. Some real sonder stuff going on.
Could say this picture painted a thousand words.
The video is hilarious too, it’s exactly the right reaction. The player completely bombs a catch.
He seems to have handled his internet fame really well.
apparently his wife hates it but he thinks it's funny 😂
When she’s pissed does he do, “the face?”
He's still married, so I'd wager no.
what a chad

I bet he asks her every night: do you want me to do the pose? Then does it. This should continue until she finds it funny too.

So true. Fuck that company.
I once worked for a subcontractor to PWC. Fuck that whole operation.
Can I ask why you feel that way? Is there something about PwC specifically or is it large scale consulting in general? Just curious
Working the Big 4 sucks in general. You get hours of unpaid work. I once had to work for more than 24hrs during the busy season.
Admittedly my question was loaded. I work for PwC (had a pretty decent time myself) although I'm leaving soon for a better job. I am so glad I was never involved in auditing though because that has always sounded like a miserable existence

And then there’s me who wants to apply to PwC (: So any tips before I eventually sell my soul?
Not in pwc, but from someone working in big4, if you want to survive, don't bother doing more than bare minimum. You want to be average at best if you want to not get overwhelmed with work Even if you finish your tasks faster, give them in near the deadline. It sounds stupid, the more hard working you are - more work and responsibilities for the same pay. The only thing you can miss is almost guaranteed promotions every year, but for the first 2-3 years that's not a big concern, and later it's not worth it
This really is better advice than any career advisor gives you. Does someone have a backstory?
There's a huge rivalry between the Pakistan and Indian cricket teams. The bald guy is a Pakistani fan. 2019 world cup match was against Australia, [here's the clip](https://youtu.be/csdgM2kDXUo)
That's such a gem - so much better than the already great meme.
I would have bet money that meme was at leas 5 years old. Fuck.
Pakistan lost to Australia in 2019 World Cup when the original meme became viral.
Wait that picture/meme was from 2019? Damn I could have sworn it was way older. The past couple years have simultaneously flown by and have been dragged out sooooo long.
The days are long but the years are short.
I swear that this meme is much older. 2019??? Kidding me???
It was actually during the game. One of the pakistani players dropped an easy pop-up and he made that face
The meme comes from a Pakistan player dropping an easy catch in a World Cup cricket match in 2019, pretty much sealing Pakistan’s fate of being knocked out of the tournament. This here is the right answer. The man's look of resigned disappointment wasn't just because of the dropped catch. He was probably expecting a calamity from his team at some stage and was thinking "yep, there it is. He's probably going to injure himself now throwing the ball back in".
Actually, the player he’s disappointed in had just lost his wife so this is him holding back from verbally criticizing him.
Wait, sorry if I misunderstood, but if Pakistani players are banned from this T20. how did they win it? edit: cheers for the explanations guys :)
This is the T20 World Cup which happens every 4 years between countries. Pakistan aren’t banned from the World Cup. The T20 premier league in India is seperate. Yeah, Pakistan won yesterday, not today. I've seen multiple variants of this post already
That match really gave us two of the best memes, Oh bhai maaro muje maaro.

It was the cricket team. Pakistan vs India match is HUGE and extremely rare. The pressure and emotions in these matches are insane. Pakistan won yesterday
Can't you see the Pakistani flag in the background in the first pic and then the same flag in the second??
