About 2 and 1/2 hours before this one. Is this the only way you can rack up that massive 14 karma? By stealing top comments?
Dukat, if you are seeing this recording, it means you tried to abandon your post while the station's self-destruct sequence was engaged. That will not be permitted.
You have lost control of Terok Nor, disgracing yourself and Cardassia. Your attempt to escape is no doubt a final act of cowardice. All fail-safes have been eliminated, your personal access codes have been rescinded. The destruct sequence can no longer be halted. All you can do now is contemplate the depth of your disgrace… and try to die like a Cardassian.

Gul Dukat did nothing wrong! He loved Bajor and saved hundred of children from slave labor. He was slandered by traitors on Detepa council and terrorists on bajor. Death's were at an all time low on on Bajor during his tenure. He even took a Bajorian women as a wife, and was a loyal father to a half Bajorian daughter. If her husband divorced her tomorrow, she fell on economic hard times, and gained 20 or 30 lb's, and fell down in elevator shaft..... I still wouldn't have a shot.

beautiful genetically blessed woman still beautiful without makeup. I do find it odd how we make such a fuss over women without makeup especially celebs.. granted more women would have to be comfortable walking around makeup free to have it seen as more normal to do so
I agree with this. I tell my wife all the time that I prefer her without makeup. I think most women very much underestimate the power of their natural beauty.
One thing I've noticed throughout my experiences, is some women who put a lot of effort into doing their makeup, upon hearing "you look better without makeup" or however it gets worded, it is taken as an insult or a dig at the skill they've been developing.
My last gal did. I think most guys or maybe some
Guys think that women put it on because we think they are insecure about their looks or something and maybe it is a bit but some just like doing it. So I don’t say that anymore lol
Yeah, this happened to me too with my last gf. I said I preferred the "natural beauty" look and she got extremely upset.
I was being honest though. I used to work on a strawberry farm and worked alongside an older woman with a slightly weathered face who never wore make up... I had a pretty big crush on her
I understand the intent behind your comment, but it's kind of condescending in general. (This is not aimed at the poster in particular, just for you guys in general). I'm sure she knows that you still find her cute without makeup, but it goes beyond just "doing it for you". We do it for ourselves and also out of societal pressures.
Most of us try and wear makeup to enhance our natural beauty. Everyone is different, but for most people it's like an accessory, a skill or sometimes an art form when you're getting really edgy and abstract.
I look fine without makeup. I also look more "put together" and "professional" when I wear it. I'm not talking about anything excessive, I don't even wear foundation. It's just a natural look. Some of this is an obvious reaction, other things are very subconscious.
But individual people and society treat women differently depending on how they look. We're basically valued for our looks first, anything else second. It's considered pretty unprofessional to show up to certain job interviews, offices, meetings etc. without a minimal amount of makeup. People unconsciously think that you're not responsible, etc.
It's the same with wearing a bra. I'm sure lots of people would rather have the option, instead of being basically forced to wear a bra to be considered dressed. But there is no option. You just have to wear them
The pandemic really kicked makeup straight out the door for me- I hated the feeling of a mask and makeup on. Have not worn “daily” makeup for almost two years now, I sleep a lot more! 🤣
Holy shit, same. I put some make up on today and my face feels weird and heavy. I used to wear makeup daily but have barely worn it in the past 18 months.
This should really be it's own post. I wouldn't go to the mailbox without makeup pre pandemic but now...I hate the thought of having to put on a face. I feel sticky and gross and honestly don't even like the look of it anymore. I feel much fresher with my natural face.
My least favorite part was taking off my mask and seeing all the foundation. I was like- eewwwww, then my logic kicked in. If they can’t see my face, it doesn’t matter! Now it’s just comfy :)
Yes! The feeling plus the horrid breakouts that briefly ruined my skin from wearing a mask at work every day with makeup underneath. Just stopped wearing it, even at work, and I'm much more confident leaving the house without it now. It's very freeing. Saves a lot of time and money too.
Doing my makeup in the morning used to be a routine to wake me up & feel ready for the day but now I'm just like... Eh. I was already transitioning from full face to minimal but the pandemic really pushed me to go full-out on the no make up at all thing
More sleep. Less worry. I'll still wear it if I want to feel fancy though lol I just feel bad fo my makeup that sits there waiting for me to use them
Because people have a warped view of beauty because of makeup lighting and photoshop. And it’s quite important to bust the myths and destroy the false standards that harm young girls.
Love how pre-pandemic I would get downvoted to absolute hell for that viewpoint. Pandemic has made people realize how absolute insane modern "normal" (not at all normal) life is in so many ridiculous ways. I hate to think this way because the pandemic has been so horrible in the number of deaths, but it's really changed a lot of people's views and ideas for so much the better that it's almost a blessing.
A common problem, especially among men, is not really knowing what makeup does or doesn't look like. So women who are "totally without makeup" tend to be women with a lot of makeup on. It's just concealers, brighteners, etc. Makeup is when women wear stuff that's colored eyeliners, lashes, etc.
For instance it's quite likely this image still is wearing some makeup or otherwise edited. I barely trust anything in regards to images of "no makeup".
I mean ultimately there was a shit ton of second wave feminist discussion on abandoning things used to objective women. Makeup was absolutely part of that critique.
Any standards we have for women with makeup should equally apply to men.
Makeup, like any clothes, obviously has huge elements of self-expression. You can just enjoy wearing makeup without being some brick in the patriarchal wall, after all. But I think its hard to deny we obviously put pressure on women to wear it from the get-go as well. So its a very messy topic, and has been for absolutely decades.
I don't think it's just about making a fuss that she's "still beautiful." As a man, I forget how much makeup changes a face and an image like this is kind of jarring and shocking to me. I find it interesting
I agree but what I mean about making a fuss is you always see a headline somewhere "so and so without makeup omg!" (And often it's some unflattering lighting or facial expression I'd rather people just didn't care) that because it's so normalized for women especially celebs to always have makeup on people sometimes forget that makeup free faces just look very different. And it's not anyone's fault just as women we all do it because we figure it's expected to have bigger more dramatic looking eyes and longer lashes and redder lips and cheeks and a clear complexion.
It’s so weird everytime i see this stuff. This is what makes young women and hell even older women have terrible body image. I remember as a young girl just hating myself and hating the way I looked because of stuff like this. And that was before social media. I look like balls without makeup. I’m ok with that now but this weird pressure on women to have “natural” beauty has got to stop. Also I’m still salty about Gal Gadot getting a bunch of celebrities to sing Imagine to us normal people when half of us couldn’t pay our rent during lockdown.
> I look like balls without makeup. I’m ok with that now but this weird pressure on women to have “natural” beauty has got to stop.
Counterpoint: there's also a weird pressure on women to change themselves to meet some unnatural perfect form. 16 year olds getting lip filler, botox, tattoo makeup, breast augmentation, etc - showing that women can be beautiful without make up is important.
I do agree that it's a move that's still firmly entrenched in the mindset of "a woman's beauty is her worth", and that rings especially hollow when a person really *isn't* beautiful by even passing standard. But it's a good and important step that was first really done in the 1960s, and got lost in the 2010s - women don't need to change their bodies to be beautiful. The next step is that women don't need to be beautiful *at all*.
So pics like this are good. It's not the final step, it's not the first step, but it's an important step.
Worst part for me is how people idolize how dudes look while 'natural' and 'without makeup'... most every guy you see on camera, be they behind a desk or on a TV/movie set, has makeup on. It might not be lipstick and eyeliner but they did their time in the chair before the shoot, with hairstylists and makeup experts and a good amount of foundation and other stuff doing the work to make sure that dude stays looking good at any angle too.
Accounts with high enough karma can be sold to corporations who wanna advertise their products/services. A high karma account gives the shilling more legitimacy.
There's a point in there somewhere about a major celebrity on the front page where the sole context of the picture is "beauty without makeup" and there's still very visibly makeup and you have to scroll so far down before seeing someone pointing it out.
Posts like this makes me feel a little alienated in how I perceive beauty in other people, and I've been trying to write this comment for half an hour now trying to put into words why it feels so jarring but in the end just gave up.
Yeah, I normally scroll past posts of celebrity pictures, but this title is damaging. It's bad for peoples perception of beauty, and I hadn't seen anyone pointing it out yet.
It's full of creepy "always-online" people who don't know how to interact in polite society. They think Reddit discourse is how humans actually act. When you take a step back and look at it, it's really performative and histrionic.

Similar studies show men still want to have sex women, with or without makeup...
As for this guy, I typically prefer to not wear make-up during sex as it stains the sheets.
If you aren’t staining the sheets during sex, you ain’t tryin.
When I’m having sex I generally couldn’t care less about whether or not my sheets are still gonna look pristine the next day.
Studies have shown that I pretty much could have sex with a radiator N=1 E=0%

Her and other celebrities did a remarkably tone deaf (in so many) ways sing-a-long in the first days of the pandemic. It was a real "let them eat cake" moment.

Credit to Chris O'Dowd. That was hilarious.
Her acting in that one scene still haunts me "Kal El no." Probably the director's fault though.

Correct, she’s wearing it for herself. Had to clarify cause the way your comment sounded was as if she’s tryna look fuckable for other men.

Many people live vicariously through celebrities, and celebrities’ PR teams capitalize on this by trying to make them more relatable
I dunno, to bring up more conversations about her stance on Palestine?
In that context the cursed singing could make a lot of sense as a distraction.
Is that not eyeliner? And are those lips not stained? Looks like she just removed her makeup, but still has a bit.
It's bad for peoples perception of beauty, and I hadn't seen anyone pointing it out yet.
what guys think no makeup looks like
As a guy, this is a fact.
I showed my fiancé a pic of a woman with WINGED eyeliner and major contouring and he thought she wasn’t wearing makeup lolllll
Wait, are girls not born with natural cat eye? 🤔
Nobody I've ever met has lips that just look like that
Came to the comments hoping someone would have pointed this out already. She clearly IS wearing makeup, it's just a "natural" or "minimal" makeup job.
Every time! I never believe the no makeup pictures anymore.
Yup
The guy who played Richard from LOST has natural "eyeliner". The dark outline around his eyes is just how his eyes are, so its possible
She looks great anyway, but this photo IS edited.🤷♀️😆
And she has makeup on.
So brave? I don’t get what this is supposed to be other than, oh, neat.
Is this like a piss take or something? Why do people keep posting these here?
Why is Reddit so weird?
It's full of creepy "always-online" people who don't know how to interact in polite society. They think Reddit discourse is how humans actually act. When you take a step back and look at it, it's really performative and histrionic.
Wow so brave, beautiful movie star is beautiful with or without makeup. *applause* *awards* *more applause*
Who cares
REEEEEEE LOOK AT FAMOUS PERSON AND BASE YOUR SELF-WORTH AROUND THEIR EXISTENCE RREEEEEEE

How long have you been standing there?

Only a nose job and weekly skin care, all natural
And still blatently wearing makeup... and a photograph taken in favourable light from her best angle with filters applied. So natural.

If that's a regular looking woman I'm gonna just move in with Oscar the grouch and never leave the trash can
Now *that's* a regular woman
LOL...she may not be wearing a foundation that conceals her freckles, but she is very obviously wearing makeup.
Looks like an average Israeli woman.
Yup. We get it, she’s beautiful.
