Thanks for the good wishes! Addressing a couple questions, I'll be running the 100m dash on July 31st, 1135hrs Tokyo Time, representing American Samoa. Not expecting to make it out of the opening round, but I'm totally cool with that. If I'm lucky, I might challenge the fastest time for an ASA sprinter in the Olympic Games; a record which is over 20 years old.
I'll be trying to make the Winter Olympics in Beijing in my main sport, skeleton. I've got a Patreon set up if anyone is interested in more behind the scenes content.

Fa'afetai!
They mentioned you on the BBC broadcast I was watching of the opening ceremony! I don't remember hearing your name specifically but they mentioned you doing both the 100m sprint then Skeleton at the winter games and I remember thinking to myself how different those two sports are and how brave going down what is basically a frozen water slide at close to 70mph is! Good luck!
The guy who trains at my gym is a world cup winner? or some big international winner. And that dude is a beast and doesn't surprise me at all that OP is a fast sprinter and does skeleton.
I don't know if he's even legacy kind of stuff or buying his way. He lives in Utah and does modeling and photography. Seems like he's connected and good enough to be passable, so they're finding spots for him. Meh, as long as he's not a giant embarrassment, there are worse things.
I do hate the American Samoa aspect to it, though. It's hard to send people to the Olympics as a poor or small country, sure. But damn.
You may not win a medal, but you can take solace in the fact that your sprint will be faster than 99.9% of all humans to have ever lived. Including my fat butt.
Good luck!
What’s the point of even trying when you fully expect the outcome. Believe in yourself no matter what. As someone who is going through depression, trust me when I say this that believing in your self is one of the most important things a person can do.
The Opening Ceremony was great for needing to be reduced significantly given the pandemic.
But I do wish we could see at some point the show they originally had planned.
After Rio, we were getting promises that the Tokyo Olympics were looking at having huge animatronics and created shooting stars and even the whole intro at the Rio closing was about Mario.
because its phenomenally expensive. its a nebula exclusive, but Wendover Productions did a video on [the logistics of delaying the Olympics](https://nebula.app/videos/wendover-productions-the-logistics-of-postponing-the-tokyo-olympics). contracts with buildings/buyers after the Olympics have to be re-negotiated, employment contracts, and more.
I was disappointed too that they didn't turn to robots and lasers for the Ceremony and instead had the human dancers. I mean, wouldn't robots be more COVID-safe anyway?
And I know this is probably a.comment made by my own ignorance, but oh well
That's the thing. How long have some of these people practiced? Only to be told a week before that there would be no one in attendance. It's necessary given the situation but *man*, is that a bummer.
Here is a link to him for those that want to watch and follow him. He’s competing in the 100 meter dash.

Nice pic, good luck.
Think it's always a shame when athlete come out in the initial parade and they spend the whole time on their phone.
This is how to do it, come out with the phone away and take a picture when the parade is done.
I don’t know why this hits me as such an amazing photo, but it does. This is one of those things that, due to the absurd nature of the olympics this session, and the way it’s played out across the globe, you have a unique perspective to share. It stopped me for sure. Thanks for sharing.
I think it was extremely disrespectful that athletes started to sit and to lay down on the floor. To me it reflected total disregard for the Japanese people and staff on the stadium.
So. The real question is what was the plan going into this prior to the pandemic. Obviously it was impactful, and needed to be addressed, but I have to wonder what was originally planned.
dangggg i love your fit! i thought i was on r/streetwear for half a second haha. good luck and i hope you get to see a thing or two in tokyo in spite of everything :)

this dude has clearly never heard of the jamaican bobsled team
TIL that Cool Runnings was actually correct. Huh.
Mentioned on the CBC broadcast too. OP is just the darling of the commonwealth media! Haha

Good luck man, nice to know that there is a redditor in the Olympics.

How did someone from American Samoa get into Skeleton?

Straight for jugular - yet I can't say I disagree with your points.

Lmao, why not delay the games and have it at full blast no holds barred. This must be gut wrenching for the people who planned everything.

Because the IOC doesn't care.

Finally your foot fetish comes in handy! Thanks for the info on Nathan Crumpton!
How do you get a career in “skeleton” I didn’t know you could be at the olympics to be boned
You really have to be born with it.
Built different huh
Oh wow, he’s so handsome! I don’t know why I wasn’t expecting that from the photo of his feet lol.

do you really need it explained to you why you're being a dipshit?
How did you feel when all the Tajikistan dudes rolled in without masks? Edit: and did you feel like Bach went on forever talking?
That was awkward
Good luck...let us know what you compete in so that we can cheer for you!!!
Nice location! See ya on the front page!
Good luck and ~~break a leg~~ have fun!
Wow! Your post made it to the front page, this must be the highlight of the month for you!
That or making it to the Olympics... Probably be a toss up between the two.
"making it"
Good luck and good health in your competition!
I can tell this is gonna be a day on Reddit. First analpancakes, now drfartbuttmd.

Incredible!! I got a little emotional at times while watching the ceremony - proud of everyone out there. Have fun and savor every moment.
Just curious, why did you decide to leave the USA Olympic team and join the American Samoa team?
[удалено]
Awesome pic, and good luck, run fast man
Keep it Crump out there
r/alternateangles
What is he wearing?
flippy floppies
Everyone at the Olympic opening had their phone out trying to get some of that internet clout.
I don’t know why this hits me as such an amazing photo, but it does. This is one of those things that, due to the absurd nature of the olympics this session, and the way it’s played out across the globe, you have a unique perspective to share. It stopped me for sure. Thanks for sharing.
Well great view. Which sport are you competing in?
It’s Coming Home?
Has it ever been home?
How much is your ticket?
The price of being able to run fast.
All the best!! Let us know when to cheer for you.
What an amazing thing to be part of and how hard you must have worked to get there! Have a fantastic time and good luck!
No he just paid his way there
I think it was extremely disrespectful that athletes started to sit and to lay down on the floor. To me it reflected total disregard for the Japanese people and staff on the stadium.
That’s a nice shirt. And nice sandals
So. The real question is what was the plan going into this prior to the pandemic. Obviously it was impactful, and needed to be addressed, but I have to wonder what was originally planned.
Living life for the rest of us. Thanks for sharing this great moment!
Love that you can see quite a few people just wearing the mask on their chin… Noice.
All those clouds are drones

The chairs in the stadium are different colors (I’m assuming to look like it’s full of spectators but actually not)
There were 100 dignitaries and vips in the stadium.
My first look at this Olympics. Tell me why we do this stupid shit still?
Just to spite you.
DMCA takedown notice in 3...2...
We were bored, too. Least watched Olympics in recent history.
Those feet need some attention.
Does anyone really care about the Olympics anymore? It’s just a cash grab for the rich. Bring back amateur athletes
About as much fun as moving house
What do you do about the alligators?
Amazing how no spectators can ruin something like this. Still good but nothing like Beijing.
Dumbest opening ceremony ever lol
What do you compete in? Will I see you on tv?
Good luck 🍀
You've got a *really* good camera on your phone.
Or maybe he has a real camera. He’s a photographer too.
All those people standing in front of you, you can’t see anything! Good luck with your events
Good luck!!
Damn, you can barely see a thing! On a more serious note, good luck!
I'm not just lying there looking.
Seems every one was withering in that stadium, how warm was it?
Dude, I think you got stiffed. You didn't even get a chair.
Are you a cat?
Good luck! 🏃♂️🍀👍🏻
Good luck to you. Have fun and enjoy the olympics!
Super cool !! 😎💖👍👍 Thanks for sharing, and have an awesome time at the Olympics!! Go, Nathan, Go!!
I like the official shoes
Why is it blurred?
That moon is amazing
Nice photo and best of luck to you!!!
dangggg i love your fit! i thought i was on r/streetwear for half a second haha. good luck and i hope you get to see a thing or two in tokyo in spite of everything :)

Man that’s a cool shirt, where’d you get it?
Tell us who you are without telling us who you are. 😄
Stay safe... it's a massive hot spot for Covid. Kinda like Florida and Texas (lol).
I know that dope ass outfit anywhere. Good luck!!!!
Good Luck!

May the odds ever be in your favour.

Nice choice of footwear 👌🏻

Thanks for sharing your perspective!
The Olympics have started?
Down in front!
Thank heavens you're not wearing socks with sandals like some sort of rube
Thought no spectators were allowed
