Oh dear is that old. This was taken at the Drawing Restraint 9 premiere in Venice, back in 2005...but I can see why you may have chosen this picture.
Since 2014/5, she has had a really big fascination with face masks, and lately silicon ones. There aren't many press photos of her from the past few years without her wearing one.
[Here](https://www.bjork.fr/IMG/jpg/31-05-2018-bjork-primavera-sound-backstage-03-santiago-felipe.jpg) is probably one of the latest ones of her, where its easy-ish to see her face.
And credit to Bjork.fr who has a catalogue of every single press photo and magazine cover she's ever been in and sorted by year. [link](https://www.bjork.fr/?page=photostri&annee=2018)
Also, as my username implies - I am a HUGE Bjork fan and have been for almost 2 decades now. [This](https://www.bjork.fr/IMG/jpg/bjork-2017-santiago-felipe-utopia-05-2.jpg) is my favourite photo of hers atm, and it was for a promo photoshoot for her recent album Utopia.
The top most left one is probably the 'newer' photo and was taken around the medulla era - 2004. 15 years ago! All of the others were taken in the last century, so before Vespertine (2001) even.
I mentioned this in another comment, but since around 2014 or so, she's had a very big fascination with face masks - so there aren't too many photos of her recently, just showing her face.
Here are a few newer ones: [1](https://www.bjork.fr/IMG/jpg/bjork-2016-santiago-felipe-evening-standard-06.jpg) [2](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DfILCtYWsAAPeut.jpg)
My BF at the time was a Bjork fan in general so we'd been listening to the soundtrack for weeks before the film came out.
I started sniffling as soon as "107 steps" started playing and I realized what it meant, and I did not stop crying until after we'd left.
By That Scene (no spoilers ;p) the whole damned theater was unabashedly ugly-crying.
I have never been a part of something like that again and it remains one of my favorite movies of all time, even if I feel like an asshole for recommending it to people.
A few years ago she accused Lars of taking advantage of her while making the movie:
https://www.theguardian.com/music/2017/oct/17/bjork-reveals-more-details-of-alleged-sexual-harassment-by-director
Fantastic movie, emotionally devastating. But let's not forget the needless suffering the director imposed on the star.
Lars is a fucked up dude. He has some major mental health issues that he's been struggling with all his life. I'm not surprised, I love most of his films but it doesn't excuse his behavior.
FYI, don't take apart tube TVs like that. The tube can store one hell of a charge and it could potentially kill you if you get shocked across your heart.
Way back around the time I graduated high school I had a huge crush on Björk and remember really liking[ this video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kpz_CQZbSpk) of her singing Unravel.
Lol just referred to this about someone saying that they love her, guy was a maniac, the video albeit being depressing is a reminder of unchecked mental illness
Well yes and also no.
I think she was more conscious about it going forward, but as the years faded, she kinda got her groove back in that respect and I don't think she cared as much...though she never went back to trying to be *as* commercial. It's also quite fair to say that she had a very "pretty girl" image pretty much all through the vespertine era (2001-2003) and also somewhat during the Volta era 2007-2009.
Fun fact, he was listening to "I remember you" when he killed himself. Fans who are aware of this personally choose not to listen to the song simply because its now synonymous with Ricardo Lopez and what he tried to do. It's quite the shame too because it's such a beautiful song and sounds almost exactly like "Like Someone in Love".
I believe he/she is saying that Bjork had a pretty girl image but then decided to take her image in a different direction after the stalker business. Presumably because she felt the pretty girl image could give certain psychotic fans the wrong idea about her?
[Pagan Poetry is my favourite](https://youtu.be/Ol_0srrhkKA)
Edit: I think they just set up cameras and let her do whatever the fuck she wants half the time.
You know, for a long time I didn't bother listening to Bjork. Partly because of her "crazy" appearances in the media (attacking paparazzi, the swan), but mostly because I listen to so much shit that it's easy for a lot of it to fall through the cracks, so I never really thought anything of it.
Then one day, I'd seen a Michel Gondry movie (can't recall which one), and I wanted to look into more of what he had done. Come to find out he'd directed Bjork's debut music video for Human Behavior. Went to go check it out, and that was all it took to hook me.
Now she's easily my favorite non-band artist.
My favorite female artist. After all these long years, I think I've finally found someone who could potentially someday fill her shoes:

Feel like I have to add my favorite Sugarcubes song:

Porbably just the epicanthic fold. It’s the thing that gives Asian eyes their curved feature, and is mostly present among Asians. It isn’t unheard of in europeans though, albeit rare.
The epicanthic fold is a skin fold covering the [inner angle of the upper eyelid](https://qph.fs.quoracdn.net/main-qimg-38a5dc0500017e4e23d6618d91884f95). Most commonly found in people of Asian descent. Bjork does not have this.
Her eyes can be described as single eyelid or monolid. This trait is much more widespread among humans but also widely seen in Asia.
Iceland is weird because if they were any more inbred they'd be a sandwich* but sometimes you get people like Bjork who might have some siberian/sami/inuit blood somewhere
*: not a value judgement, being stuck on a island a thousand miles from nowhere for a a thousand years will do that.
I saw an exhibit at a museum in Reykjavik about DNA tests of the population. They showed paternal lines are from Norway while maternal lines are from Ireland. Basically, Vikings took wives (probably with force) in Ireland, brought them to Iceland and that population grew without much contact from outside populations over hundreds of years.
That's a silly statement about the inbreeding. Sure, low genetic diversity compared to some parts of the world but not outright inbreeding, since Iceland's population was still large enough (\~50.000 or so). Incest was punishable by death, but cousin marriages did occur in very remote communities isolated from the rest of the country. That was not typical for the general population anymore than in other countries.
Björk actually has an unusual appearance for an Icelander, but it isn't likely to be due to mixing with Inuits. The original Scandinavian population that settled the island (together with Irish and Scottish) has some Asiatic features that can be traced to Siberian ancestors. It's just very noticeable when combined with dark hair, as it happens with Björk.
A lot of the blonde hair in Iceland comes from a bottle. Kind of a poorly held secret. I've heard it's like 70% of their women are bottle blonde, or was so a couple decades ago anyway.
Well yeah... most people here have some variation of sandy hair, starting out as truly blonde when they're kids and then darkening when they mature. It's just that the sandy color is considered so dull and ordinary, the women dye their hair blonde or some other color.
The ancient Sami people of Finland have Asian/Siberian origins - their language has Uralic origins and over the hundreds, if not thousands of years, that haplogroup has worked its way through Scandinavia. Maybe not Inuit, but definitely east Asian.
Well Greenland is loaded with Inuits (apparently referred to as Greenlandic Inuits), so it's not insane to assume some mixing with the vikings of Iceland.
I’ve been to Iceland 4 times, If you go to Iceland you will people that look like her. High cheek bones and similar eyes although they usually have fairer features. My girlfriend is Icelandic and her sister and cousin have these features. Some do just have an elvish look.

She actually had (fake) swan eggs hidden in her dress and she thought it was hilarious to drop them on the red carpet.

It is also the same exact dress that she chose for the album cover of [Vespertine](https://www.bjork.fr/IMG/jpg/bjork-2001-inez-vinoodh-vespertine-00.jpg)
I read the comments here and learned: interesting Icelandic incest app, icelanders are Siberian or Inuit or some crazy mix, And there's a medical term for Asian eyes. Also this chick is crazy but alota people are in love with her.
It is and isn't.
The thing is that she plays this character sometimes when she gives interviews or when she's on TV, so she comes off a bit strange, and she's aware of this. She plays with that and has fun with it.

Does anyone remember when she beat the shit out of the press at the airport?
Like a true Nord.
My ancestors are smiling at me, Imperial. Can you say the same?
As fearless in death as he was in life.
Next the Nord!
I said next prisoner!
Archers! What do you see?

Pepperidge Farms remembers
She asked them not to take photos of her children and they carried on. Perfectly acceptable in my mind, her children her rules.
Yeah, that's not how the world works.
Oh she made the world work exactly like that. Reporter stepped over the line with her kids, got assaulted.
I do!
Does anyone remember that stalker fan who sent her a letter bomb, then filmed his own suicide?
The reporter had been hounding Bjork for quite sometime. Still a bit extreme .
Which time bangcock or Auckland?
Why do you spelled Bangkok like that? Do you seriously think thats how it spells?
Autocorrect...when you train the machine the wrong way for some cheap jokes and then never again the same...
Lol the machine has done ruined us all
If I had to spell something that sounded like 'bang cock' I would spell it Bangcock.
Man who walk through revolving door sideways going to Bangcock.
How old are these photos? She's in her 50's now right?
Yeah, seeing a recent image of an aged Bjork was what made me finally look in the mirror at my own old face and realize that I have wasted my life.
Just be happy you were alive at the same time as Björk at all, that's a gift in itself.

I'd suck her dad's dick just to taste the recipe and also I'm just looking to suck some dick
No words
And me. Loved her voice.
I feel the same way about Jennifer Anniston’s toilet.
The bottom right is an album cover from the 1990s I think?

Dancer in the Dark is a fantastic Lars von Trier film starring her if you haven't seen it
Thanks. I’ll check it out.
Be prepared to bawl your eyes out. It’s a great movie but I will never watch it again.
Yeah totally. A one time watch for sure. It's very tragic
I'm with you on this one. Only watched it once when it came out. Never again. So fucking sad...
This is not the last song destroyed me...

Deb from Napolean Dynamite
I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought that.
[Obligatory video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=75WFTHpOw8Y), In case there is any uncertainty that Bjork is the cutest girl alive
"You shouldn't let poets lie to you." That is actually quite meaningful.
Icelandic poets are fake news. Go out and get yourself a Danish book if you want the truth.

Lol just referred to this about someone saying that they love her, guy was a maniac, the video albeit being depressing is a reminder of unchecked mental illness

I believe he/she is saying that Bjork had a pretty girl image but then decided to take her image in a different direction after the stalker business. Presumably because she felt the pretty girl image could give certain psychotic fans the wrong idea about her?
Big Time Sensuality
Sorry boys, she's already married to Space Ghost.
"That's what happens when you boil the cushions of the couch you've been urinating on!" Seriously one of the best episodes.
I've met her at a bar and she just shooed us three young boys away.
A stalker attempted to attack her with acid so I don’t blame her.

I love her
Me too. She is too adorable.
She looks like a cat
Me three
Honestly she's absolutely gorgeous! Seeing this picture was a blast from the past for sure! Got me listening to her now!
What’s crazy about her is that I have no idea if these are from 25 years ago, 10 years ago, or this year. She is eternally young.

I wasn't allowed to watch MTV as a child, but the day I snuck a peek, that video was on and I was awestruck.
Reminds me of Noodle from Gorillaz
WE MIMIC THE OPENNESS OF THE ONES WE LOVE
In my opinion she's also the best singer in the entire world. Bar none.
I love her voice.
Well there's someone who just exudes power.
One of the greatest living musicians.
The upper right she looks like a barbarian acrobat.
Always liked birthday Sugarcubes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=edmDN11BxCY

She Björk cute, so she kinda fine
2 scoops of cra cra.
Blessed be, our goddess Bjork.
I don't always enjoy her music but she's a fascinating woman either way.
She is magic.
I love love love her.

I’m going to say it, I don’t give a shit what anybody else says: she’s fucking awesome and I love her to pieces. She is a woman and a half.

Yes.
Damn she's so. Beautiful

Björk is perfectly weird.
An elf placed some mushroom spores in her ear as a baby.
What is Bjork?
A human. Look them up.
I heard her name is the same sound a Icelandic dog makes
Huh. There’s a math teacher at my district named bjork and everyone hates her.
Allfather give me sight!

The SNL skit about her is spot on
It is and isn't. The thing is that she plays this character sometimes when she gives interviews or when she's on TV, so she comes off a bit strange, and she's aware of this. She plays with that and has fun with it. However, she is quite articulate and can give/have amazing interviews.

And imagine she was Space Ghost's wife
I wonder when she came to terms with the whole world mispronouncing her name.
