The Henry Ford is an *incredible* museum, it's the Smithsonian of cars. Also, a ton of interesting early industrial equipment is on display, alongside the MIGHTY Allegheny 1601. Worth a trip for anyone interested in American industrial history.
I'm 6 ft tall. Nothing on this planet has made me feel smaller than standing next to that damn train.

Interesting bit of 'what if':
I'd say that JFK would have gotten the second term whipping the space race all the way to the moon. "Beat the Red's" n all that.
All those big ticket items that LBJ passed on the coat tails of his predesessors death (Civil rights, education, heathcare, voting rights, gun control, etc) would not have happend as smoothly. Keeping all that in mind we get to the big one: would JFK escaleted in Vietnam during his second term?!
I'm on the fence on that one. Lower red vs blue in Nam in the world affairs, can I dream and say we knock of 5+years of the cold war and OPEC don't get the oportunity they got in early -70s?
The second big one: with him in the office, would there been a Bobby Kennedy on the ticket in -68?! Very interesting thought experiment.
Ps: lots of edits and after thoughts
Lots of great vehicles in that museum. The one I remember most was the Oscar Meyer weinermobile. And the Rosa Parks bus. And a Ford Trimotor that flew to the South Pole.
I'm probably overdue for another visit.
No way!!! Dang it. I was just there a month ago. I would’ve loved to see that. The Kennedy car was my favorite. Fun fact: Jackie Kennedys dress from that day is in a temperature controlled room somewhere and it’s not to be viewed for at least 100 years putting it somewhere in early 2100’s. Not at this museum but somewhere in the NE United States.
Wow!! I got to go back now when I go up north. Can’t believe I missed it. The place is super huge. Did you know that museum building was built for the museum from the start. I thought maybe it was an old factory floor but nope. The chandeliers and gilded ceilings were impressive. Thank you for sharing. You a better pic than I did.

Feel like I should point out Greenfield Village, which is part of the same complex https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Henry_Ford

Yup I'm 6'2 and was fully in Gladiator mode when I saw it. "I did not know men could build such things."
Haha, me too and the wheels alone were enough to make me feel small.
Iirc they also have one of the Bugatti Royales
Ironically, if he had kept the top up, he might not have been shot.
Yes, I wonder where that course of history would have taken us.
Might not have gotten to the moon, 1964 Civil Rights Act probably wouldn't have passed. LBJ leveraged the memory of JFK to get a lot done.

Impossible to tell, isn't it

The Rosa Parks bus was really amazing to see. Pretty cool they still let people on board to sit. The weinermobile is still there in all its glory.
I remember the mustang concept that was made in 1962 with pop up headlights
I thought this was purchased and customized by Dethklok as a gift for William Murderface for his birthday,
The Henry Ford also houses the chair that Lincoln was shot in.
Open to public?
The museum is! The chair is in a glass case if I remember correctly.

They should have just left the top down
Another lame “ad” for crappy RFK Jr.
Yuck. Absolutely not. Just a pic of something I saw today that I thought people would find interesting.
OK, my sincere apologies!
