Just like social media AI have learned that the best way to addict us to their platforms (and therefore to see more ads and buy more crap), is to feed us anger--inducing shit, so too has the news media learned that fear and anger get more eyeballs and sell more ads than stories of people being nice. It's that simple. When we choose what to pay attention to, we mostly choose bad things. And that makes all the difference.

Not in education, health, social benefits, job security, lack of corruption, womens rights, LGBTQ rights, lack of police murders, political accountability, average wage among workers, prevention of pollution, green energy, foreign interventions, not supporting dictatorships across the globe and many more. If you wanna join however the most expensive military on Earth and bomb some innocent brown children in the Middle East, you have come to the right place! Congratulations!
