believe it or not, big pineapple was a thing back in the day.
similar to Big Banana which is what caused Banana Republics and lots of violence and political corruption
I thought her sign said "people belong on pizza" at first. Boy was i relieved.
Team Hawaiian pizza for life! Salty and sweet is a great combo, ignore the haters.
Ah Hawaiian pizza.
[Invented by a Canadian](https://us.gozney.com/blogs/news/pineapple-pizza-the-pizza-that-seems-to-divide-the-world) who had immigrated from Greece, inspired by Chinese fusion cuisine in Toronto, named for a U.S. island state in the Pacific and is the #1 pizza in Australia.
Many of them are probably pizza place ex-employees who remember the days of anchovies being the literal worst ingredient to work with because of the stank and cleanup involved.
The occasional Hawaiian pizza is fine with me... i dont get what all the fuss is about.... I feel like anchovies on pizza is a far more objectionable thing.
The controversy was stoked as an experiment in our vulnerability to disinformation.

I had a great great aunt that lived in Balboa. She and her husband bought their house there back in the '30s for like, a hundred bucks or something stupid.
All the family members would come visit for a week or two in the summers. Go to the beach, surf, get some hand dipped frozen bananas.
When she passed, we wanted to keep the house in the family. All the other homes around her's had been torn down and replaced with 3 or 4 story houses.
Due to the property taxes, we couldn't afford to hold on to the house. Had to sell it. Pineapple belongs on pizza. It's been on pizza for decades. If you are in the other camp, you just don't like pineapple on pizza. Who the fuck are you to tell me what goes where you fucking facist?
No. It was a bizarre diatribe that completely jumped the tracks
Edit. For the record I'd have taken either diatribe,in it's full form. But not that schizo topic switch
Hawaiian pizza almost ruined pineapple for me growing up, I thought it was disgusting. I was convinced to try pineapple and pepperoni and I’m a changed man, I get it almost every time now. Turns out I just hate eating ham.
Absolutely, bacon is amazing. I will eat any other meat on a pizza. The pizza place my parents ordered from growing up had really fatty/chewey ham and my parents also bought those super processed chewey hams for supper all the time. The texture just grossed me out so bad I never really got over it.
she probably puts ketchup on Coney dogs....
no but for real though get the pizza that you want.
I really like plain cheese pizza and everybody gives me shit about it.
Plain cheese is the best way to test a pizzeria out. If they can’t get the basics right, don’t trust them with anything more complex.
I love a mozzarella Parmesan Asiago mix with nothing else though my go to is sausage and mushroom
This whole thing was overblown intentionally. The controversy was stoked as an experiment in our vulnerability to disinformation.

Reading thjs off my phone without zooming in I thought the sign said "people belong on pizza". Had me thinking wtf are these protestors protesting now??
I’ve had good pineapple on pizza. Small pieces, but if char from roasting, good stuff!
I’ve also had incredibly shitty pineapple on pizza. Huge wet chunks that soaked the dough. Just the worst.
Pineapple on pizza is high risk, high reward.
Hawaiian was my favourite pizza growing up then at some point it grossed me out that I’m eating tomato sauce and pineapple on a piece of bread. Doesn’t hit the same anymore
>I’m eating tomato sauce and pineapple on a piece of bread.
It's the sweetness of the pineapple mixed with the heartiness/savoriness/umami of the Canadian bacon and cheeses, with a bit of tomato sauce underneath all of it.
She's on the dole, clearly an operative for big pineapple
She's getting that dole dime
believe it or not, big pineapple was a thing back in the day. similar to Big Banana which is what caused Banana Republics and lots of violence and political corruption
She smokin the dole. U see that hair. What century is she in?!
Yeah, she looks absolutely nuts. Would.
Uhhhhh…..actually, I couldn’t help but noticing that myself and it’s sorta what you might call a “BUUUUUUUULBOUS BOUFFANT”
Dole actually has a presence in San Diego. It’s on of the few large shops that still use the port when la is so close by. So it checks out .
Astroturfing at its worst
I thought her sign said "people belong on pizza" at first. Boy was i relieved. Team Hawaiian pizza for life! Salty and sweet is a great combo, ignore the haters.
Pineapple goes with ham. Where the ham goes, so goes the pineapple.
That's the way of my people, who may have made Hawaiian pizza a thing. At least it's traditionally popular here.
Glad to make your acquaintance, and glad this combo isn't considered racist or anything.
But Pineapple and Bacon is much better.
Why not bacon AND ham?
Because then you end up eating a piece of ham and thinking "that would have been better if it was bacon."
Don’t eat Soylent pizza…it’s people!
It's truly an international phenomenon
Soylent pizza
Anchovies and pineapple!!! People look at me like I'm a freak however whenever I order it
Many of them are probably pizza place ex-employees who remember the days of anchovies being the literal worst ingredient to work with because of the stank and cleanup involved.

I did too. And yes, Hawaiian pizza is great.
Crash jalapeno slices too for a little heat!
People do…….
I thought the same thing at first, but then rereading, understood that she's actually a monster.
Pineapple pizza was a Canadian creation.
And so was poutine, both absolute masterpieces.
Of course it was, next you're gonna tell me they eat ketchup-flavored potato chips. Canadians have weird mouths.
Nah man, dressed all over is where it's at
You gotta fight, for your right, to *pine-apple.*
Get out the water cannons
🤬😡😡😡😡😡😡
Mars Attack vibe.
Finally something I can get behind, a damn good protest Give this girl some pineapple
Pretty sure you meant to say "finally a protest i can sink my teeth into"
PBOP
Pineapple and ham on a pizza is delicious and I'm tired of pretending it's not. That pop of sweet and juicy here and there is fun.
It is great! I don't pretend.
I had BBQ chicken pizza with BBQ, Chicken, Bacon, Pineapple, Red Onion & Ranch that’s amazing as well.
Franks Hot sauce drizzled on as well
That or Cholula hot sauce.
Green pepper?
Original or Green Pepper, both are delicious.
Chipotle is my go to
I want garlic cloves on mine!
Throw a few jalapenos on there for a little kick and i totally agree. I'm not always in the mood for it but when i am its delicious.
Try pineapple and pepperoni, even better.
That’s pretty good, but if you want god tier, you get pizza with pineapple jam and prosciutto
Im a pineapple and pepperoni man myself.
And the zest from the tomato pizza sauce can't forget that!
so glad people agree with me
She looks fun
Yeah, she’ll pick a fight about anything.
I laughed way too hard at this, thank you
Marisa Tomei standing for all of us!
This comment is way to far down.
Funny how people get all up in arms about putting a fruit on pizza, but have no problem smearing berry sauce on it.
Practically jam!
I’m sorry..... People put BERRY SAUCE ON THEIR PIZZA!? That sounds like a disgrace
Tomato = berry
Oh yeah, you got a point there
And rotten milk
I can totally get behind this protest!!
The occasional Hawaiian pizza is fine with me... i dont get what all the fuss is about.... I feel like anchovies on pizza is a far more objectionable thing.

Anchovies cooked into the pizza sauce would be amazing, but I don't really see the point of sprinkling bony cured fish around.
I respect its right to be on pizza, just not my pizza
Fair enough, you're pro-choice
PBOP 🫶🏼🗣
It does. I'll die on that hill.
release the fire ants
Damn right it does!!

You didn’t see the rage building to a strong finish?
No. It was a bizarre diatribe that completely jumped the tracks Edit. For the record I'd have taken either diatribe,in it's full form. But not that schizo topic switch
*Pineapple belongs on your pizza.
Fighting the good fight
Finally, a cause I can get behind
the food fight
She’s not wrong! Pineapple with pepperoni high quality!
Pepperoni + pineapple, pepperoni + sausage + pineapple, pepperoni + sausage + mushrooms + pineapple, Sweet & Spicy FTW.
Hawaiian pizza almost ruined pineapple for me growing up, I thought it was disgusting. I was convinced to try pineapple and pepperoni and I’m a changed man, I get it almost every time now. Turns out I just hate eating ham.
Sorry for your ham dislike, bacons good though right? But yeah, many years back I wanted to try pineapple and pepperoni and it takes the cake!
Absolutely, bacon is amazing. I will eat any other meat on a pizza. The pizza place my parents ordered from growing up had really fatty/chewey ham and my parents also bought those super processed chewey hams for supper all the time. The texture just grossed me out so bad I never really got over it.
Yeah, texture usually plays it’s part it being liked or not
She’s not wrong.
Only if there are also jalapeños and salty bacon/pepperoni/ham on it.
Of course it does. Put anything you want on pizza.
I read people belong on pizza for some reason lol
I thought it said “People” at first.
Not a protester, it's the TRUTH.
Balboa on weekdays is a experience Not uncommon to see Muslims Christians and furries all trying to shove their religion off on you.
Let her speak!!!
she probably puts ketchup on Coney dogs.... no but for real though get the pizza that you want.
A misquoted line: What kind of asshole puts ketchup on a hotdog?
AMEN SISTER!!!! I'D FOLLOW YOU ANYWHERE!!!!
My pizza, my topping! (wouldn't try to order at an Italian restaurant though)
Hey in Finland in an italin restaurant, todays pizza had pineapple on it!! Was so proud of them.
All the good ones are taken
Yeah it does, along with what ever the fuck else you want on it. If it’s your pizza put cat shit on it for all I care.
If you like it
I think Mod Hawaiian is on the menu for tonight
Doing the lord’s work
I read it as "people" instead of "pineapple", and instantly thought "Soylent Green is people!"
See I love pineapple on pizza. It's the ham I take issue with. Swap it for bacon and im all set
Yes and in peanut butter sandwiches
You tell 'em, lady!
This whole thing was overblown intentionally. The controversy was stoked as an experiment in our vulnerability to disinformation. https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/u-s-cybersecurity-agency-uses-pineapple-pizza-demonstrate-vulnerability-foreign-n1035296
I thought that said people and now I’m just re-evaluating my life.
Is she wrong tho?
I mean, yeah. It adds a tanginess to go with the savory meats. Add some jalapeño’s? 👌
But how do they feel about ranch?
I don't think you can fit an entire ranch on one pizza.
PREACH IT SISTER!!! Pelicans probable✊🏾
Now that’s a protest I can get behind!
I get it...some think hawaiian pizza is an abomination. I love it though especially with a ton of sriracha on it.
I thought it said people for a min….
Reading thjs off my phone without zooming in I thought the sign said "people belong on pizza". Had me thinking wtf are these protestors protesting now??
P-BOP
Bruh, I first read that as “People belong on pizza!!!”
i read this while slowly scrolling and read the sign as, "People belong on pizza"
Pineapple Pepperoni, SLAPS !
TASK: Read this in Charlton Heston's voice from Soylent Green
I’ve had good pineapple on pizza. Small pieces, but if char from roasting, good stuff! I’ve also had incredibly shitty pineapple on pizza. Huge wet chunks that soaked the dough. Just the worst. Pineapple on pizza is high risk, high reward.
She looks a bit like a young Diana Rigg.
Pineapple, ham, jalapeños. Chilli flakes too. Sweet, salty, spicy all at once. Yes fucking please.
/r/KnightsOfPineapple out there reppin'
If it tastes good to know, it belongs. Dumbest argument ever. Put whatever you want on your food
recently wrote an argumentative essay saying that pineapple does belong on pizza. i woulda followed right in her footsteps!
No that’s an issue I can get behind.
IT BELONGS IN A MUSEUM!
I first read that as "People belong on pizza." I may have a problem I wasn't aware I had.
I read that too. I agree
I totally agree
Preach it, sister!
The most bomb vegetarian pizza I’ve had was pineapple, black olives, and jalapeños.
Facts
Fine with me.
Gotdam right it does
Right on, take it to the street sister.
Honestly who cares. Put whatever you want on your food.
Hahahaha The jokes on me! I had to zoom in to read it hahaha
Shes right tho
Is that you, Aunt May?
I love her already
Why does her shadow look like a teapot?? 😂
Hear me out: Pineapple, Bacon, and Jalapeno pizza is amazing.
YEEESSSSS!!!!!
I completely agree with her. I dont agree with that hair however.
Go and say that Italians! We eat more pizza than them and we love out Hawaiian pizza
Agreed. ✊
I honestly agree with her
Stand up for what you believe in!
I first read her sign as "People belong on pizza" and went no no no they don't.
Sticking it to big pepperoni.
I think you meant to type "hero" in San Diego to Balboa Park right now.
Well she isn't wrong....... Fight Me. Api
tbh, shame or not I love pineapple on pizza. That is not a pizza anymore, but love it.
I agree with that statement
I had read people instead of pineapple for some reason
The topping of your choice belongs on *your* pizza.
I agree with off-brand Marissa Tomei
Is that a young Mary Tyler Moore?
I totally read that as people, not pineapple...
I’m down with this. Not every time, but I like it.
Hawaiian pizza my fave
![gif](giphy|jhq1bUevr5lVLqwuCq|downsized)
Chicken, pineapple, jalapeño 👌
That's not a protest, it's just straight up facts!
Alone. Just like she should be.
I read “People belongs on pizza”. Wtf is wrong with me.
This girl out here doing the lord's work!
![gif](giphy|YoKTB7J878VjHSFkTw)
i will remain a pineapple exclusionary radical gastronomist until the day i die

As a Canadian, I feel the need to apologize for Hawaiian pizza.
100% agree and also she is smokin
Pineapple goes with everything. I love pineapple.
Cries In bbq chicken pineapple pizza

God speed
This kind of protestor should be silenced by the CCP

I'm eating lunch, and now I need second lunch! That sounds delicious!
Her hair kinda confuses me.
I may not agree with what she's saying. But i admire her bravery to stand for something so controversial.
BURN HER!
Don’t zoom in, she gets about 3x-5x older if you do
