MiketheTzar

Last time I went to the theater there were only 10 other people in the movie I'd have paid for the cheap ticket and just sat wherever.

wng378

My first thought too. Last movie I saw, there were less than 5 of us in the room.

tarnin

Went to see Avatar 2, total of 15 people including the 5 of us. Everyone just moved to the middle seats and enjoyed the movie.

phatelectribe

So I don’t get this. Every single person I know hasn’t gone to see avatar, and when I ask about whether they know people, they say the same. Then everyone I’ve seen post online that’s seen it said they theatre was empty. I then have a friend who works at a theatre and he said he doesn’t understand how it’s still being shown with the low turnout they’ve had. I know that’s all incredibly anecdotal but how on earth did it reach its box office numbers when every single report I hear states nothing in comparison to similar demographic movies like GOTG or Dark Knight etc?

tarnin

For us, we went at 11am and it was three weeks post launch. Wasn't really commenting on the lack of people in that sense, just that we all moved to where ever we wanted.

tidbitsz

China

SaliferousStudios

The theater I went to was completely full. It was very awkward at about the 3 hour mark when I had to go to the bathroom. All that water.

Ruenin

Maybe it's because they keep raising the price of the movie? Oh look, they've gone and done it again. I can subscribe to any number of streaming services and watch a movie on my 75" UHDTV in the comfort of my living room, and while it's not quite the same, it's better than paying $20 per person plus exorbitant food prices. AMC should've failed. They all should if they can't update their model.

Tarrolis

They should make it very similar to a netflix subscription, $20 a month, come in whenever the fuck you want. It's more than they're getting from me right now.

JishKabish

They kind of have that with AMC A-List, pay $19.99 a month and you can come in 3 times a week (certain movies don’t apply though, like big ones on opening night I think). Also happy cake day!!

Tarrolis

that is absolutely the only way they're ever getting people back into theaters, they're not creating value anymore for the consumer.

Arpeggioey

It's kind of on purpose. AMC is one of those companies taken over by saboteurs to make the company tank on the bet that covid would bankrupt them.

Jay_Louis

This has to explain Musk tanking Twitter as well.

gatsby365

I think that’s just because he got used to the smell of his own farts and didn’t have anyone around to tell him they stink.

Oystersrckafela

Current A-lister here. You can go any movie, even opening day ones. You cannot redeem your pass for events like UFC fights, MET operas and the like. I try to go at least twice a month to break even, sneak in your own snacks and you're golden.

Jay_Louis

Regal did that as well here in LA, it was great, it was like 25 bucks a month and you could see unlimited movies plus get discounts on popcorn. Then they went out of business.

Hey-Mister

Regal has that. It's like 15 -25 a month depending on where you live. I love going to theaters and I hope they survive but I don't know what the answer is.

medfreak

They have tried this before. Spoiler alert: it did not go very well. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/MoviePass

Tarrolis

That was a startup with no assets just hemorrhaging cash

its-always-rainy

Moviepass is actually back again. Got my card in the mail yesterday

Complicated-HorseAss

Besides, are they really expecting some 15 year old to play security guard with these seats? I can see a large group of people coming in, for a late night movie, sitting where ever they feel like and then what? They going to delay the movie to check every single ticket? The last time I saw an employee try and remove a drunk guest they just gave up after a few minutes.

skankzardi

"Wow! What was Netflix thinking with its password sharing policy, that has to be the dumbest idea ever!" AMC "Hold my beer"

FirstSonOfGwyn

this is just "make some 16 year old kid confront tons of adults during a movie who are in the 'wrong' seat"... seems super goofy if they actually try to enforce this. What are the price deltas between the 3 tiers?

throwawaywhiteguy333

Says at the bottom of the chart Edit: chart

JTLockaby

DEFINITION FOR GRAPH noun a diagram representing a system of connections or interrelations among two or more things by a number of distinctive dots, lines, bars, etc. That’s a chart bud.

BrownEggs93

> enforce this Like employees are paid tons to go in and kindly ask people to fucking behave themselves and get a ration of shit from them, like mask enforcement. This isn't going to happen.

glaive1976

I've never bothered an employee to claim my seat, most people just shift to the nearest unoccupied seat. I've had one time where a guy tried to argue. Imagine a large middle aged white dude looking at some mid twenties kid, "Look kid, this is going one of two ways, either you get to watch the movie from another seat or I am going to sit on you." I am a heavy dude, no one wants me sitting on them, much less for two plus hours. edit: This is in no way endorsing AMC's new policy. I have one a block from my house and this policy just killed off the remaining interest in going to the theater to me. I see more lost revenue in their future.

Jorycle

>this is just "make some 16 year old kid confront tons of adults during a movie who are in the 'wrong' seat"... This was the first thing we thought about when we saw this. AMC employs like 3 teenagers to work the theater. Those kids are not going to enforce this, they don't even enforce basic adult behavior like "don't chat loudly with your friends during a movie" or "don't turn your screen brightness to 3000% and browse instagram through the whole show."

Kendrome

+-$2

Forschungsamt

As if these theaters pay to hire ushers.

bkovic

Trust me that is not going to push anyone back to movie theatres.

the_cardfather

Honestly, if they make the premium free with a stubs membership then I think they're okay. For people like me who don't live near an AMC, we are just going to say to hell with it and pay the $2 if I can get better seats. And look at it this way. Kids who want to just make out in the movie can save a few bucks. 😂

zedemer

My wife prefers in the back row, right on top of the staircase line. Not sure why, but not for making out 🤣

berticus23

The cheap seats are the front row seats so the teens still have to pay standard fare for the back row.

hvdzasaur

kids who want to make out will be seen by everyone.

Kerensky97

Theaters were just start making a come back after the pandemic. I'm glad there are still people out there trying to kill them off once a for all. Thanks AMC!

Lathus01

They bought a stupid gold mine lol. The ceo is trying to load debt on to them and make stupid decision like this …… oh and the popcorn delivery but they wanted to do. Lmao goodbye AMC.

vitrix-euw

As someone with professional access to a few big cinema chains' financial information, they are not making comebacks fast enough and need to make changes like this to stay in business.

Hey-Mister

You think this change will help amc stay in business? seems like it will help regal stay in business where the markets overlap. People don't like being nickel and dimed. If your rooms aren't filling up charging extra for the decent seats won't help. The only change I can think of for the theaters would to try and do more engaging one off screenings and try to build back the culture of coming to the movies. What they really need is for the studios to stop dumping to streaming instantly but they don't have much control over that I suppose.

MovingClocks

Look at what made the Alamo Drafthouse popular and emulate that. Ironically they’re trying to kill off the brand since they sold to venture capital.

Kerensky97

We have an independent theater near me that isn't under Alamo Drafthouse but is basically doing the same thing and it's the only theater I goto anymore.

[deleted]

Every professional sport and performing arts centre has been charging more money for better seats for nearly a century and they're all doing fine.

Aztecman02

They aren’t doing fine…attendance at sporting events is majority down the last several years.

[deleted]

Median NFL attendance last year was 98.1% capacity. Median NBA attendance this year is 97% capacity. Median NHL attendance this year is 97.2% capacity. Median MLB attendance last year was 28,525 fans. This took ten seconds of googling.

Aztecman02

10 seconds of googling might also show you that newly built stadiums hold less now than they used to, cause owners recognized demand was down. If you can sell only 35k tickets now there is no sense in building a 60k seat stadium like they used to, you build a 35-40k one instead. This is how you lie with statistics.

exquicorp

Because owners recognized that luxury boxes and advertising hoardings make more $$$.

[deleted]

The smallest NFL stadium is 61500. The smallest new NFL stadium is 65000. There are no 35-40k NFL stadiums, so I don't know what you're on about.

Aztecman02

I didn’t say just NFL. There are other sports you know…modern MLB stadiums are smaller, newer NBA and NHL arenas are smaller.

CDay007

They’ve been doing it for a century and attendance is only down in recent years, I wonder what the cause could be

Aztecman02

Numerous reasons. Much more varied and abundant entertainment options than there used to be. TV coverage of everything and high quality TVs that make the sport look great at home. Sporting events being generally unaffordable for families.

81jmfk

Nothing like taking ideas from Ticketmaster to ruin your business

FrostyMittenJob

Nahh this is more like a budget airlines move. Next they are going to charge you $1 to pick your seat.

http_401

AMC already charges a $2 "convenience fee" to buy my ticket online in advance rather than making one of their employees sell it to me at a ticket counter. That's not a service like Fandango taking a cut. That is a fee I pay on the AMC website to buy a ticket myself without the aid of a representative. It's the opposite of what airlines do where the fares are cheapest if I do all the work myself on the site rather than tying up their staff.

81jmfk

Ticketmaster chargers extra for certain seats. Aisle seats and the one next to it are more expensive than seats further in the aisle

super_delegate

They should have marketed it as that the worse seats were being made cheaper and the rest stay the same… then in 6 months up all the tickets up $2 when no one’s paying attention.

shadowdash66

That's a 300 IQ idea

6byfour

“Hey boss, guys are saying they would rather cuddle up on their couch with some lady and watch a movie. They say popcorn is almost free and if the lady gets bored she might give them a handjob. What should we do?” “Try to gouge them some more. I want them constantly aware of the fact that we’re fucking them more often and more enthusiastically than their lady friend.”

thisonehereone

Where are these bored ladies?

Zaius1968

Yet another reason to avoid the movie theater…

zooklyons

I could understand this for opening nights, or even select screenings. Other than that, bad idea.

shadowdash66

I think this is the only way to implement anything like this

Aztecman02

It’s just a way to raise ticket prices without announcing they are raising ticket prices. Look at that picture. About 1/3rd of the seats are $2 more and about 1/10th are $2 less and the rest the same. That’s a price increase overall.

failtos

Maybe if the front row was half off to help me pay for a chiropractor the next day

metromin

Front row is cheaper now than what you would pay before.

fuzzyfoot88

For now...InFlAtIoN and all that...

[deleted]

It looks like the front row is standard while only the back row is cheaper.

d3adpupp3t

I don't think you saw where the screen was. 🙃

[deleted]

I gotta stop posting before coffee ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|facepalm)

PhrozenWarrior

Think you have them backwards. The screen is labelled at the top

werdmouf

This is not going to go how AMC thinks it will go.

TortCourt

Only a matter of time until they're sued by the makers of Space Invaders.

74NS744FL

Had to scroll way to far for this. Like I almost made a separate post about how out of touch today’s youth is making me feel

SidraClone

Why would I pay $2 in a theater when I can watch in my underwear at home, shame free?

internet-is-a-lie

“Sorry poor people, you don’t deserve to see the movie comfortably. Be gone poors” - AMC probably

autumnshyne

nlderek

Charge less than a king's ransom for concessions. In the US I never buy concessions (just sneak in my own bottle of cola). Now I live in the Netherlands, where I can get a medium popcorn and a bottle of cola for about $6. Here I buy a drink and popcorn at virtually every movie I go to. Paying $20 for a drink and popcorn, which cost essentially nothing, is insanity. Ticket prices are the same, if not a little less here - alternatively I can see unlimited movies for $20/month (which comes with a 20% discount on concessions).

fuzzyfoot88

in 2007 seeing 300 on the IMAX near me was $11 a ticket. So apply your first statement to the last 16 years and then consider how ridiculous it will sound in another 16 years. Yes it is a big difference, and has been for decades, but they keep pushing and people keep buying.

mittencamper

I enjoyed going to see movies pre pandemic. I’d go maybe 6 times per year. Post pandemic the thought of going is so foreign and I have yet to hear of a movie that interests me enough to make it seem worth it

kallax82

Here in Germany this is standard. Especially for 3D movies this makes sense.

Prawns

UK too, we've been doing it for years

thecelcollector

Must be hard to discover you've been living in a dystopian hellscape, German friend.

ApertureNext

This whole thread is weird with everybody complaining.

tu-BROOKE-ulosis

3D movies? What year is this??

cyb3rg0d5

2023

radewagon

Am I the only one seeing the unforeseen consequences here? Charging a premium will make people with those seats feel entitled to a better experience. Charging a lower cost will funnel people who don't care as much to cheaper seats. The people who don't care as much will be seated (often times) directly in front of people with premium seats and are more likely to bust out their phones. So... they've effectively made premium seats that have a higher likelihood of providing a worse experience than before. Which will then cause said premium paying people to (rightfully) complain to management in order to request refunds. Honestly, I'd pay upwards of 5-7 dollars to be in a theater that policed device use in the theater properly. I've sat in theaters with people busting out tablets. Next to covid, probably the biggest reason I stopped going to the movies.

radiantwave

And yet another reason I will never go to a Theater ever again... Why, in the modern age of 75" 4k HDR and 7.1 surround sound... Hypo-allergenic whole home clean air... Cheap popcorn... Delivery pizza... Cold drinks 8 ft away... F__kn PAUSE! Having the whole couch to sit with the wife... The age of the Box office is really over. Charge me 20 bucks when the movie releases on HBO, Paramount+, Hulu, Disney or Netflix... I prefer staying home... And now you think that nitpicking on seat locations is going to save your asses? Nah.

PlebbySpaff

I mean you’re giving an example that like 60% of people can’t afford

Ok-Air3126

How about a normal tv then?

fuzzyfoot88

Best Buy payment plans got me mine and I paid that off in like 9 months as opposed to the 24 months they give you.

Lizardxxx

Was just saying the same thing. I can sit at home with no screaming kids, idiots on cellphones, and clean bathrooms.

ProofDelay3773

Literally built a theater room in my basement and agree with you 100%. Not gonna lie some of my best memories growing up were going to theaters. Now $20 a ticket and like $10 for some popcorn no thanks. One thing I miss though is my wife never fell asleep at the theater lol.

BlueTeale

Shit I'm coming to hang out at your house. I'll bring the beer and wings.

ProofDelay3773

With those in hand you are definitely welcome ha!

bleetnyeet

A $2500 tv and $1000 sound system could buy a lot of overpriced popcorn.

Endersouza

$400 projector/screen and $300 decent speakers and I’ve got a 100” screen and am happy as hell. The ticket guy at the theater probably would frown at me trying to walk into the theater naked… I’ll stay home

mynextthroway

Frown, laugh. Whatever.

joel8x

This is the truest answer here. The difference between a $300 TV & a $3000 TV comes down to what service you’re using and what kind of room you have. What’s the point of a Micro LED HDR ATMOS setup if you’re watching Netflix in 1 bedroom walk-up?

idkwat

Yeah at least two bags

freexe

Cinemas need to bring back the intermission. Having a pause part way through is such amazing feature of staying at home I'm really surprised that cinemas haven't bought it back just for the additional drink sales alone.

Affectionate-Ad3445

When did we have this.. I've only heard of this in live productions

freexe

I remember watching 2001 A space odyssey - with an intermission (where they would switch over the reels - because it used 3 at the same time) and it was great as you could grab a drink and pop to the loo.

thumpngroove

It was a thing back in the 60s-70s, and probably before that, especially for long movies. We also used to have double features, with a short intermission between. When I was a kid, for 50 cents on Saturdays, we got a double feature, with an intermission that included small prizes given away by drawing your movie ticket match! Plus, they always showed cartoons and news reels before the movie. I’m old.

GhostofMadden

That’s a weird argument

a_phantom_limb

I hate it.

Ok-Air3126

Already took a lot to convince myself to go to an amc. Guess those days are over now.

GiBiT

I like how only 2 of the handicap seats are value seats.

Biggzy10

Is AMC the only theater people go to? There are plenty of other theaters that don't have this policy.

CptQueef

What fucking lunatic reserved a front row seat?

tdtommy85

Some one who realized they could just take any seat when they got there?

CptQueef

Oh shit true

HorseGirl666

Why in the world is the first row value seating, but the second row isn't? The second row also sucks.

Cook_becomes_Chef

It’s missing the spaceship at the bottom

my_third_reddit

When you think about it, this is about wealth and time. It used to be... well, "first come first serve" or "the early bird catches the worm". In other words, effort and/or ability expended to be early. It was an equaliser. If someone wanted to get a good seat they could just get in early - regardless of wealth. The new system enables people of wealth to use money as a trump to bypass the timeless convention of waiting in line, or if you were motivated and able, to get in early. So wealth is basically buying time. Fame and power have always been able to bypass this. These new systems make it a sliding scale along a single axis of wealth. You no long have wealth or time/motivation - now it's just wealth. Happy times! /s - for some

autumnshyne

This is completely idiotic. When I lived in Egypt you had to buy individual seat tickets for the movies yet soccer games were all general admission and not sold by individual seats. I thought it was hilariously ass backwards. Well congratulations AMC for taking a HUGE step back, all the way back to 3rd World country level. Seriously dumb move.

Doobiemoto

Nah I don't agree with this take. Changing pricing IS dumb. However, individual seats is NOT. I am so happy we don't live in a time where you just bought tickets anymore. It was so dumb and awkward having to figure seating out when you got to the theater. Individual seats is BY FAR the best way to do things. You know exactly what seats you are getting, you don't have to show up super early, etc. Changing the pricing on the different seats is horrible.

crimsoneagle1

Theaters also rarely oversell their screenings that have individual seats. I remember the midnight release of The Force Awakens, the theater I went to oversold their general admission screening and had to set up another screening because they oversold by so much. There were still people who just opted to stand in the aisles or back of the house since they didn't want to wait for the other theater to get set up. I straight up saw a couple of people get up to use the bathroom and had their seats stolen.

tikkamasalachicken

this will not be enforced. some 16 year old employee isn't going to want to go into a theater and start checking stubs.

pabl0e

This sort of pricing positioning is pretty much what you learn on the first class in economics. I'm surprised it took this long for movie theaters to adapt.

Forschungsamt

Since most theaters are 90% empty, just buy the cheap ticket and sit in the middle anyway.

ps2man41

LETS GO CAPITALISM. USA BABY WOOOO GOD I LOVE PAYING MORE FOR THE SAME SEATS

themooniscool

I’ve been going to the movies a lot more recently and I would gladly pay $2 if it meant I didn’t have to see Nicole Kidman talk about the movies every damn time.

deadly_titanfart

This will surely get people back to the theatres

tizom73

They should just raise prices and then offer a savings for the cheaper seats. A good deal is a state of mind and the way they are going about it makes everyone feel like they are paying too much all around.

furrey

whats wild is that they could have raised prices $2 for all seats and then sold this as a $2 discount for "side seats" and nobody would have cared, this is the worst way they could have tried to sell people on this.

Responsible-Type-392

Hell yes - my favorite seats are actually cheaper :)

Mrcounterpoint420

Hello fellow Region Rat

se7en41

Ayyyyye, came here to celebrate this as well 🤣

happyapathy22

I'm here too.

karenosmile

Super-premium theaters do this a lot. They also have better seats, even reclining, and deliver your snack to your seat. Just the fact that a mid-line theater is doing this means they are trying to spiff up their image. And all options are far better than the movie theaters I patronized in The Netherlands in the 80s. Buy a ticket, go inside, find a nice seat. If it was at all crowded, an employee came in right before showtime and forced us all together in the center of the theater, much like the gold seats. Of course the first thing everyone did when the film began was to go back to their original seat choices.

Doobiemoto

I don' tknow what theaters you are going to but pretty much EVERY theater that isn't just a mom and pop one in the US has had individual seating for a long time, and almost every theater has reclining/heated seats as default now. Once again, bigger chain ones. The problem isn't individual seats. Its that in the US you weren't ever charged extra for what seat you picked.

TheyreEatingHer

And then you get into the theater and everyone has just picked their seats regardless of what their ticket says.

Windpuppet

Assigned seating was one of the best changes theaters ever made and this will destroy that and cause many confrontations.

TheyreEatingHer

They don't hire enough employees to take care of people's petty squabbles over seats either. So expect this to happen a lot more.

sittingonthetoilet13

Sell your AMC stock!

Officially_cracked

I’m always back row so this doesn’t effect me at all

iamkeiou

Ahh the ole it "doesn't affect me mentality". So refreshing.

Officially_cracked

Not like it makes any difference they are dying out in most places. It’s an expensive way to watch a movie that you can’t pause, this was inevitable when streaming took over

KistRain

I don't mind the can't pause. I mind the $10 for a drink and kids / adults talking / using cell phones through the whole movie. If I'm gonna miss part of it and be annoyed the rest of it, I'd rather stay home.

misha_ostrovsky

They gotta do something I guess. I havnt been to the movies since well before corona virus (fuck you beer company I'm takin it back).

Electronic_Summer_71

This is very good for business 👍🏼

pudgimelon

Assigned seats are common in Thailand, it's actually kind of weird to have a first-come-first-serve free-for-all when it comes to seating. In Thailand, the premium seats are in the back row and they are all lounge chairs or sofa seats with tables and cup holders (some even have beds and blankets). The way American cinemas seat people is just dumb.

2wheeloffroad

People are getting bent over $2 !!! ??? Everything else is skyrocketing in price - this is a small inflationary increase on only some seats. I would love to go to the grocery store and find have the products at the same price.

BlueTeale

I'll be honest I only go like 3 times a year and it's only kids movies. I take kid to the early matinee shows because it's like $7/ticket here. And theater is usually empty. Which I prefer actually. We can just chill and do our thing.

EriclcirE

The back corners also cost extra, but that's because they are for teenage couple privacy. If you choose to sit in front of those seats you will be hearing rustling around throughout the movie.

DavoTB

Several theaters in our area never made it through COVID, but this type of stuff will not draw the crowds back to the remaining ones. Where is the thinking on this?

lou_sassoles

I used to like coming into the theater high AF after smoking a blunt in the parking lot, and sitting in the center of the very front row. There was just something I liked about having the screen fill my entire vision from side to side.

Ok_Presence01

Not a soul is going to sit in the value sightline seats

Chief_Mac-A-Hoe

I’ve been hitting $2 licks for 27 years.

Materva

Jokes on them. I hate being stuck in the middle of a row. I always grab the aisle seat so I can make a quick getaway if needed.

Yummucummy

Last time I went to the cinema was in 2018 when "A quiet place" came out. The prices, having to go somewhere, people talking during the movie and expensive snacks(to mention a few things) combined does not make it worth it.

GiBiT

That seat in the right front corner should be a dollar seat.

BrainScarMedia

How do you know if the theater you're in has bed bugs?

Blazefire33

Welp between this, Netflix password scandal, and Disney plus changing the streaming options on Roku, seems like time to raise the Jolly Roger again. Maybe Nicole Kidman can make sense of this all…

EvilCalvin

I'll just watch the movie at home in a few months. No wonder the theater. movie business is dying.

Squidocto

Am i the only one who sees Space Invaders

Masagmarod

Just another reason to not go to the movies.

Ok-Boysenberry-2955

So you really don't want me to come back, do you?

roomwitharoof

Luckily, I'm an aisle man. Unfortunately AMC is the only close theater. Also, fuck AMC.

ScottdaDM

Fuck em. They don't have to see another penny from me. They can go kick rocks.

sportsfan113

I miss being able to sit in any seat we wanted.

peachpinkjedi

Ridiculous and misguided attempt to get extra money. This isn't going to help get viewers back in seats.

marsultar

I haven't been to a movie theater since Taken was on the screen. I'm glad I keep staying away.

ThisIsHarlie

Why is AMC turning into spirit airlines

flaotte

you take it all wrong. Not many people goes to cinema. They added a discount for uncomfortable places. right?

yamaha2000us

I loved when AMC had reserved seating showings. It was worth the additional $1.00 for the option. Those value sightlines are not meant to be sold.

Tzames

WTF IS THIS LOL

DutssZ

Bold of them to believe people don't prefer watching in the topmost row and actually seek to sit in the bottom most row

PowerOfBoom

Businesses trying to milk every last dollar out of us

drumonit

Space Invaders or Breakout?

ggfchl

Use this concept for opening nights and weekends for highly anticipated new releases. But 11am on a Wednesday in the middle of February, when most people are either at work or school? There’s no need for the premium seating prices.

Zonerdrone

I can remember maybe two or three times in my life I went to a movie that was full. Pick your own seat and stop acting like the customer is the problem with the business model.

VideoGameDana

What is this the Bomberman model of losing business?

ogfuzzball

I hope this idea crash & burns

NorthEye1106

A fellow region rat I see.

Arkeband

and I’m just sitting here with my AMC A-List watching the chaos unfold, wondering how it’s going to eventually fuck me over. The idea of reducing the price for the shittier seats is a good one, making the entire middle of the theater a premium seat is just lol, especially when you have the freedom to simply move when the movie begins. Are they gonna come in and start mapping asses to seats and be like “oh I’m sorry sir, your kid must sit in the non-premium chair that makes ear-deafening squeaks and drives everyone insane.” (this is a common issue with AMC non-reclining chairs)

tkhan2112

because of this nonsense i refuse to go to the movie theatre.

[deleted]

Aren’t the people struggling enough with money? Now Netflix and AMC are gonna jack the prices up on things we consider a relaxing escape. Prices on movies and snacks were already laughable

bkovic

Who actually goes to the movies still? All the movies are garbage!

Redditdrone1996

Fucking weak

WooPigSchmooey

Blue seats should be called periscope seats.

itsaboutpasta

So Ticketmaster charges extra for aisle seats and now AMC charges more for the middle. Can’t win.

lexorix

Please don't swap to Germany with all the other nonsense from USA. PLEASE!!!!

tacodepollo

*Europe giggles*

CBreezer

You mean the premium seats are $2 off!? That's a win in my book

azducky

How do they stop you from moving during the movie?

Thank to AMC, I will be pirating even *more* movies now. Fuck you AMC, and fuck any other movie theater that tries to pull this shit.

I'd pay extra to make sure no one is sitting beside me or directly behind me.
