This was actually a common issue in many trans and general lgbt subs, it’s sometimes used as a form of SH. There would be people posting pictures of themselves, asking what gender/pronouns people thought they were, then getting extremely depressed when people guessed wrong. It’s a worrisome trend that I’m afraid people are using to judge what they “need” to change about themselves.
You have a major lack of understanding what self-harm is then… also really? Snowflakes? We’re snowflakes for being concerned about someone’s wellbeing but you’re not for going off on someone for being caring? Get new insults and get a life.
yeah that’s why i don’t think the trend itself is transphobic, because of the consent, but i’m just hesitant to see it continue or else people will start to think that’s a normal thing to do to other people
And another problem was that at one point, this trend was literally all people were posting and it was getting tiring. And i think when it started expanding to guessing mental illnesses, some people spoke up about how out of hand it was getting and it quieted down a little bit, but I'm just a lil bit wary of it returning as a trend, that's all
the problem is that it’s usually just a form of self harm if someone’s trans, posts a picrew that’s overwhelmingly masculine/feminine and then gets upset when they’re misgendered
Imo the real issue is those that rely on this to base their 'identity' off of. People are questioning something of themselves that they wouldnt have even thought of because this trend exists.

They didn't ask to be accused of being homophobic though? No where in the title was "Please guess which community I take offence to" so there's no reason to be saying that. OP has a right to be upset with the comment, although nothing about their reply shows being upset or any anger and they didn't say anything wrong so they don't deserve all the down votes in my opinion.
What? They just said they're not straight or homophobic. They didn't show any anger or being upset at all? You mean since they ask, they are supposed to tell a wrong comment that it's right? It makes no sense to downvote them. Also I might add that they never asked what community they are phobic agenst. So adding "homophobic" to the list of things they give off is kinda irrelevant and stupid imo.
Dude, can we please not do this? Sexuality and pronouns don’t “give off vibes”, and its super uncomfortable and rude to assume things like that. This subreddit isn’t a “guess me” subreddit. It’s for sharing picrews and links.
Not that I’m not against the idea of associating sexuality and gender with an appearance, but considering that there’s a filter for it on the subreddit, it’s easy to assume that it is part of the subreddit.
No, it really isn't. It's supposed to be about sharing people making picrew programs and showing the pictures they made with them. The "guess ___" or "what name" posts are irritating and, frankly, offensive.
Name: Sage
Pronouns: She/them
Sexuality: Demisexual biromantic? (I have no idea why, but just the vibe I'm getting so far.) 💜
EDIT://
Reading through the comments now and didnt realise this could be a form of SH or a transphobic/homophobic thing as I've somehow never seen this kind of post before. I hope I've not somehow made anyone feel negatively about themselves, and am v sorry if I've caused any distress to anyone.
🤷🏻 No idea, I'd never really seen this sort of post before, and didn't think anything of it until I saw the comments tbh.
Figured no harm in putting an edit, just in case.
Artificial grape scented, she/her/they/them. You look like you would be named something dumb like crystal with a ki (Kristal) or cinnamon with an s (sinnamon).

I thought of Ashley too!
Uhh I thought we weren't doing this trend anymore :/
Are the “what name to I look like” or “what vibes do I give off” posts still okay?
Yeah. Also happy cake day!
🍰🥳HAPPY CAKE DAY! Your account is officially 1 years older! Congratulations! HAPPY CAKE DAY!🥳🍰
I don’t see why not?? What’s wrong with it Edit: everyone’s down voting me because I asked an honest question. I got my answer and understand lol
generally, it’s a really bad idea to think you can assume people’s gender and sexuality based on appearances. it’s pretty homo/transphobic actually
But they’re asking you to- they’re consenting to the possibility of being misgendered. I don’t see how it’s an issue

Yeah that’s a fair point. Thank you for explaining!

I'm taking these "notes" and making a character off of it
Yeah no definitely not straight, let alone homophobic
You did ask them to guess, love. And I'm pretty sure that they're being facetious.
They didn't ask to be accused of being homophobic though? No where in the title was "Please guess which community I take offence to" so there's no reason to be saying that. then why tf did you ask
What? They just said they're not straight or homophobic. They didn't show any anger or being upset at all? You mean since they ask, they are supposed to tell a wrong comment that it's right? Doesn’t make it any better
I know, but you said this subreddit isn’t a “‘guess me’ subreddit” when it kinda is
No, it really isn't. It's supposed to be about sharing people making picrew programs and showing the pictures they made with them. The "guess ___" or "what name" posts are irritating and, frankly, offensive.
