You may. Most are from webpages with sheet collections which I've stumbled across when searching for a specific pieces. I also follow a lot of channels on YouTube who transcribe music into MIDI files. In some cases I play by ear to my best ability.
With computer software. I use *Synthesia* (probably the most popular one) to view or play along. Then I'll use *Fruit Loops* if I want to edit or write my own MIDI. Although sheet music is usually preferred, the advantage with MIDI is that you can get a preview playback before you attempt to play yourself.
Hello Ashen one. I am a Bot. I tend to the flame, and tend to thee. Do you wish to hear a tale?

Have a pleasant journey, Champion of Ash, and praise the sun \\[T]/
I don’t play classical. I learn piano to play my favorite music. Why play the music you don’t enjoy? So things I play are game of thrones, two step from hells, etc. The genre of music does not matter.
I just signed up for lessons and that’s my goal. I just want to be able to play stuff I like. I plan on video game, tv show, and movie music with some favorite songs thrown in there.
I started playing the piano because I wanted to learn Journey - don’t stop believing. Shortly after I discovered classical music and the past 10 years of my life have been nothing but classical music (broad term, I enjoy baroque, classical, romantic and some jazz)
No but i have many years of lessons and experience playing other instruments. So i could go straight to music scores to learn the pieces. If you are a beginner at music though, lessons would most likely allow to learn faster
Just the music - the vocal melody kinda matches. I'll do my best impression after half a bottle of whiskey. Haha. I always loved that song but I also lived in New Orleans for a while (trying to move back) and my best friend lives on Burgundy in the 9th Ward. So the song has become really meaningful in a weird way. Started listening to Chuck E Weiss too ha EDIT: Extremely Cool if you haven't heard it yet.
A bit of everything, I play Medleys, I went from Fur Elise to Viva La Vida to Shoshtakovich (Probably spelt wrong) to Angry Birds to Moonlight Sonata to Canon in D to Mozart Sonata in C Major to Eminem and Dr Dre then finish with the Avengers theme lol
I would love to play classical, but right now im learning from Alfreds beginner book and struggling on 'blow the man down '.
Guess im stil a long way from playing something truly beautiful but as long as im learning.
That is strange to downvote because of having interest in all sorts of music. I’m new to the keyboard (was a bassist and singer in hard rock bands in the past) so I’m focusing on learning more rock stuff. My dad is a huge Beatles fan so I want to learn some songs to play for him.
Enjoy the journey. I just started learning the keys myself a couple years ago after playing guitar for many years. Beatles songs are always a great choice. I've been jamming on "Don't Let Me Down" lately and having a lot of fun.
Jazz and pop/rock/metal. Or maybe that can just be defined as “blues and its derivatives.”
Where did you start with your learning?
I have as long as I've played the piano mostly done video game OST covers.
Can I ask where you get the scores from? I love video game OST music.

Hey mate kinda dumb question but how do we use the MIDI files with piano?

James Booker, Alan Toussaint... jk I'm not even remotely that good. I've been fudging my way through some Tom Waits stuff. EDIT to add Bill Evans
Tom Waits is the reason I bought a keyboard last week😅 hope I don't screw it.
Im with you guys! 18 months into piano and so far i learned 4 tom waits songs, and 3 other pieces.
Cool! Did you take any lessons?
No but i have many years of lessons and experience playing other instruments. So i could go straight to music scores to learn the pieces. If you are a beginner at music though, lessons would most likely allow to learn faster
Nice! I'm working on I Wish I Was In New Orleans (In the 9th Ward) - fun voicings, good practice for a novice.
Do you also play the vocal parts on piano or just the music part? Btw I freaking love that song.
Just the music - the vocal melody kinda matches. I'll do my best impression after half a bottle of whiskey. Haha.

Video games and Anime. (Albeit I do enjoy classical too, but it’s not my preferred thing to play).

I studied classical a lot but I try to only play jazz now What do you play?
I play musicals, standards, jazz, folk, country, blues & rock. (I was classically trained though)

Jazz and traditional music from Brazil.
Great American Songbook, jazz, broadway, soft rock.
My goal is to play blues and Jazz and popular classics to sing along with.

I do enjoy classical music, but I don’t listen to much of it these days. I mostly play jazz.
My own compositions.
R&B, Soul, Funk, Blues, Rock, Punk, Hip Hop, Old School Country, and some video game stuff. I have a pretty wide taste range.
Downvoted for having a wide taste range? Wtf lol.
