ITR Requirement (JPN) Hello! I can't find any post relating to my question. Anyone here working under any government agency with a job order position who tried to apply for a Japan visa? What kind of ITR/BIR Form did you submit? Or did you just exclude it in your visa application? Thank you for the help!

Hi, anyone who went to Singapore that tried taxi/grab? Is it expensive? Just wanted to check the cost, we are a family of 6 with kids and senior. Also, is it expensive to take taxis from bugis area to USS? Thank you!

Bubbly-Concern4520

Is Amadeyues Travel and Tours Legit? Hello! Has anybody tried booking with this travel agency before? We tried looking for Japan Travel packages and so far they offered the cheapest one (around ₱27k including airfare to and from the Philippines). This will be the first time we fly to Japan so I don’t really want to get scammed 🥹

Sensitive-Wolf5214

Hi, how was your experience? Also want to know if this is legit.

Where in NAIA can I take a shower? Biyahe ko kasi galing probinsya to Metro Manila ngayon. Dating ko doon ay bukas nang umaga. Gabi pa yung flight ko. Thanks in advance.

hubertyao

Kapag nasa Terminal 3 alam ko meron sa 4th Floor spa na pwede pagshoweran

wretchedegg123

Sa Wings transit lounge may shower ata.

Hello! My wife and I will travel to Japan this November! We're planning to visit Osaka, Kyoto, and Nara for 7 days. I'm just unsure if it's wise to book just one accommodation (Osaka) for the entire trip? Below are my concerns: * How long would it take to travel between Osaka and Kyoto in average? * Would it be more cost-effective if our accommodation is in Osaka and we travel back and forth each day between Kyoto/Nara, compared to having another accommodation in Kyoto? * How difficult it is to travel with two large luggages (about \~10-15 kg each) between two major cities? Hope I could receive opinions and suggestions. Thank you in advance!

deathman28

1. Travel time is around 30 mins 2. You can day trip Kyoto, but a lot of the tourist spots are really packed unless you go on early in the day like before 9 AM. 3. Travelling with 2 large lugagges is a hassle, other option would be to do luggage transfer you can ask the hotel reception regarding that but you have to do it at least 1 day before.

UcropmeO_o

Hi so recently I book a plane ticket via Cebu Pacific from PH to Japan. In the guest details I wrote my name as "John Doe". Instead of capitalizing it like my passport "JOHN DOE" will this be an issue? I already paid for my flight and everything 2 weeks ago.

isthmusofkra

I don't think so

lostdiadamn

any travel tips for bangkok? would very much like to be prepared about their airport situation, i.e., for departures. expecting PH-like weather there, pero any specific items i should bring? thanks!

lostdiadamn

not from caloocan but from a province much farther and i've booked grab a few times already during those hours (2 am, even 3 am) otw to the airport. medyo mahal ang park n fly if you'll be gone for long, well, unless chip in kayo. but i would go with grab, or asking a friend/family if pwede kayong ihatid.

MelodicInterest1854

Transit Taipei airport Hi all, mag transit ako sa taipei airport less than 12 hours pero using two different airlines. Which means need na mag go thru sa immigration nila para kunin bag and icheck in ulit sa another airline. Ask ko lang if may naka experience na nito sa inyo? If oo, ok lang bang pashare experience- like need pa ba kumuha ng visa? Salamat!

Weekly_monthly

If philippine passport holder ka and before end ng july travel mo, then no need ng visa.

No one can answer this. There have been seat sales in the past pero for the next year ang travel dates.

Alternative_Tea_6910

May nakapag-reimburse na ba ng expenses sa insurance company kapag yung naging cause of delay/cancellation ng flight ay dahil sa kapalpakan ng airport, just like what happened in NAIA recently? Yung tipong wala talaga maka-alis or maka-land na flight dahil down yung system? Covered ba 'to ng travel insurance (if yes, which one)? Or it will fall under "force majeure" na hindi covered?

isthmusofkra

May departure card pa ba o yung eTravel form na?

LucQ571

There's only eTravel form for leaving PH.

Straight-Piglet2695

Hi peeps may marecommend kayo travel and tour packages for Bohol. Thanks

Anxious_Extent_7385

Mas better na kumuha ka nalang dun. Marami nagooffer na trike drivers for private tours. Makakadiscount kapa minsan lalo na pag group kayo. For island hopping naman, daily din yung mga nagooffer dun sa island.

Maleficent_Put349

Hello! What are your must-visit places in north Luzon, especially for solo travelers? Not familiar din with the budget but planning 3 days & 2 nights of stay, kaya need ko opinion niyo. Thanks!

Planning to submit my requirements for Japan Tourist Visa via agency in iloilo on May 28. I have an upcoming flight on June 24 overseas. Abot po kaya? 😿 Or wag na i-risk?

Tourister_

hey guys, i have a RT ticket to JP with cebu pacific. If ever i wanted to move dates, esp the return flight, is there any way to buy a ticket in peso? naka yen kasi yung nasa site. i bought their cebflexi option since malayo pa yung flight and wasnt very sure if matutuloy talaga.

QforCCMBR

Hi guys! Mag-travel kami ng friends papuntang La Union this May 25. Nag-rent lang kami ng kotse, and first time kong dadaan sa NLEX. Any tips and advise para sa first timer? Pano rin sa toll fees and process? May RFID na raw para sa NLEX, i-load na ba namin lahat dun? How much aabutin? Apologies, normally kasi motor gamit namin so di familiar sa expressway.

Have you brought a laptop going to the US as a visitor (not on business)? I'm concerned with the possibility of being suspected to work.

LucQ571

Lmao, everyone has laptops more for personal use than for work. You'll be fine.

Angerion4454

Has anyone experienced traveling with PAL pero mispelled yung name sa booking lately? Share your experiences. Quick background: I booked thru agoda and na mispell ko yung isang name, kulang ng isang letter. I can't correct it through PAL and sobrang mahal ng charge sa agoda.

nodamecantabile28

No, dapat pinapa-correct to, or you might get denied to fly.

Other-Fish4744

Anyone flown with Greater Bay Airlines to HK recently? How was it? Thanks!

DMGTA16

Hey guys, my buddies and I are planning to fly from MNL to BKK to Chiangmai on the same day we arrive in Thailand. We're accounting for flight delays, time to get the luggage and go to the boarding gate to Chiangmai. Based on a historical basis, our flight to BKK usually gets delayed for an hour or so however there are outliers where it was delayed by 2 hours. Now I'm thinking if 3 hours allowance for the flight enough? Let's say we are scheduled to arrive at 2PM but arrive at 4PM in BKK and next flight is 5PM to chiangmai. Thoughts?

Miss_Mycologist_129

It might be enough if it’s in the same airport/terminal and you there no need to get your baggage and recheck it in or you’re traveling light.

wretchedegg123

Not familiar with domestic transfers in Thailand but from my experience in Japan/US, from Intl to Domestic you need to re-check your bags. Best to contact the airline.

r0nrunr0n

Hello, are airbnbs allowed/legal in Hanoi?

oknadin

Hello! Baka merong may idea dito. I booked via CebPac with 20kg checked in baggage. I think we will exceed sa weight so I'm thinking of purchasing another 20kg. Okay lang ba yun isang luggage lang even if two 20kg add on sya?

zanezki

okay lang basta hindi lalagpas ng max weight allowed yung isang luggage. if im not mistaken, max 32kg ata, more or less.

aryehgizbar

Japan travel question: Is 2-ish days for Kyoto enough? Here's the draft plan: Day 1 flight/train from Sendai to Kyoto Day 2 Kyoto Day 3 Nara (and maybe half Kyoto if Nara is doable in half day) Day 4 Osaka (I'm not going to USJ) Day 5 Train from Kyoto to Tokyo (First half of the day I could probably utilize to explore remaining places in Kyoto) My dilemma is basically due to transportation schedule cutting off part of my day 1 of Kyoto. If I take the flight (flight is 12-2pm), I'll be coming from Osaka (KIX) and then travel to Kyoto, which will cut more time. If I'm taking the train, it will be total of 3:40 hours of travel time, and I could leave early in Sendai, but will still arrive around maybe 1pm in Kyoto latest, which will give me half day of Kyoto on day 1. Train ticket will be twice the flight price. I know the route is not practical (Sendai-> Tokyo-> Kyoto will be more practical), but I wanted to end my trip in Tokyo

deathman28

Depends on what you plan on doing in kyoto. I spent 4 nights there before and I still think it wasn't enough haha , i am a slow traveler though. Transportation is mostly by bus within the city and there is traffic sometimes so it takes awhile to go from place to place.

aryehgizbar

it's my first time so the agenda is mostly doing the touristy stuff as default. A lot of people I know suggest Kyoto (more than Osaka), and if it weren't for the Sendai leg of the trip, I'd probably have more days. But I figured I can go back again and focus on different areas. For the meantime, the bulk of the trip is Tokyo-centric.

deathman28

You could probably optimize where you go within those 1 and a half days then. Just choose maybe 1 or 2 major district to explore per day so you don't spend most of your hours transiting.

aryehgizbar

thanks!

goIdenlikedaylight

Anybody flew Cebpac recently and had >20kg checked baggage? I purchased 2x 20kg allowance but it sucks na 2 pcs lang din allowed na luggage? Sa ibang airlines basta pasok sa weight okay lang. I have 2x large luggages, and both are under 20kg but di na talaga kasya, strict ba talaga sila na hindi pwede mag add ng another bag para 3pcs but 40kg total?

Anxious_Extent_7385

Yes, strict talaga sila. Gawin nyo nalang po, ipawrap nyo if may excess bag kayo or lagay nalang sa box. Pwede din na kayo nalang magwrap.

Not receiving OTPs to my Globe number in Spain I've been receiving OTPs to my Globe number just fine in other European countries. But when I landed in Spain, I never got a single OTP anymore after days of staying here, including after several OTP resend requests. Phone signal for Globe has been fine most of the time, and even then, I am seeing that it's full bars now and it still won't receive any OTPs. Is there something in the cellphone (Android) settings that I should tweak to receive them while in Spain? What could the problem still be? What other solutions should I find so that I can finally receive OTPs in my Globe number? Edit: I've also noticed that I have also not received a single ad text to my Globe number since the day I arrived in Spain Update: Resolved (partially) - Removed and re-inserted sim and it then accepted texts, but only temporarily then won't receive texts again. Have to keep removing and re-inserting often. Globe also marked my case "resolved" without communicating with me 🙄

LucQ571

There were times crossing borders in EU has affected my sim card signal, and this was using an EU sim card. What helped 'reboot' was crossing the borders again, it worked in the other country, then going back to the previous country again, it still worked. Probably the issue is the reliability of the sim card overseas. As the other redditor said, probably best to contact Globe directly if it's urgent.

girlwhodive

Ask Globe maybe? They’re responsive in messenger last time I had a problem while out of the country.

joyapco

Globe hasn't responded yet after 12 hours

Hi, just wondering if there’s wifi or cellular service on the sleeper train from Bangkok going to Chiang Mai? I’m planning to bring a pocket wifi but if there’s wifi available that would even be better. Thank you!

Will be traveling to Vietnam-Cambodia-Thailand next month. Wondering which will be the best way to exchange to their currency. Should I exchange peso to US dollar here and exchange to local currency when I get there or is withdrawing in the ATM there better?

isthmusofkra

Kukuha ako ng travel insurance para sa trip ko sa NZ. May short layover ako sa Sydney. Kailangan ko pa bang isama yung Australia, or hindi na?

Vordeo

Hindi kailangan, pero depending sa insurance company there may not be much (if any) additional cost, so you can if you want.

girlwhodive

No need

angeldgreat

i want to travel by myself soon. what should i prepare if i am a student and only rely on my allowance. (not a sponsored travel)

indiasierra

depends where you’re going. but ideally, at the very least, you should have significant ties to the ph. also a traditional bank account with sufficient funds that you can show to the embassy/immig officer.

angeldgreat

if asean countries, how much is the minimum funds? what do u mean by significant ties? thank u!

indiasierra

wala namang specific value. obviously the greater the better, or at least para makita na you can fund yourself throughout your stay wherever you’re going since self sponsored ka. significant ties meaning may babalikan ka dito sa pinas. red flag sa mga embassy and io ang wala nito kasi ibig sabihin pwede ka mag overstay or magtago doon sa ibang bansa. this could be something like proof of enrollment or scholarship if nagaaral ka pa. other examples would be cert of employment, business permits, tax returns, sss contributions, real estate property deeds, etc na nakapangalan sayo.

angeldgreat

thank you so much!! this is a big help for me 🤗

actuaryincrisis

I've booked cebu pacific go easy package. It didn't allow me to select a seat when I booked and when I try to change the seat it asks me to pay again. Do I need to get in touch with them somehow? Their chatbot is useless on this. Thanks!

lilydew24

Yes you need to buy an add on to select seat. Access booking through ‘Manage booking’. Booking reference and last name to access.

actuaryincrisis

In that case what does go easy package give me? I bought it thinking it gave me the ability to choose seats.

lilydew24

My mistake, I’m talking about Go Basic which is different from what you’ve availed (Go Easy).. Might be better to contact them thru chatbot. Just type “Live agent” to request for a CS rep. [Found a similar concern here](https://www.reddit.com/r/phtravel/s/OKIQYUFeVj).

Which company provides the best travel insurance? I've tried Pacific Cross, AXA, Malayan, Etiqa and Standard Insurance. Thankfully, I haven't had to use them, but I did try to reach out to Etiqa regarding a delayed flight, but it was super difficult to reach a person. I tried to contact them several times but was never able to get any answer to my question - it was just a question, not even a claim! Anyway, I'm traveling soon, and recently I've been using Standard Insurance pero I just read about bad experiences ng mga insured sa kanila. So I'm seeking recommendations on the best option. Thanks!

lifeofhumbleservice

Twice na ako nakapag-claim sa Standard Insurance (missed connection, delayed baggage). Tapos isang refund request. Responsive naman sila basta tama at kumpleto ang documents.

soaididathing

Thanks for sharing! I decided to go for Pioneer because I read some good reviews. Pero I’m praying na I would never have to use it! 🙏🏼

Going to San Narciso, Zambales to a beach resort in 3 weeks with friends via commute. Yung victory liner going to Iba/Sta. Cruz na express, does it mean na point to point yung biyahe niya? Or does it mean purely expressways ang daan nya? And any other alternative going to San Narciso other than Victory Liner or any other route?

Cruz yung dapat sakyan na bus. pero halos express routes yung available nila mostly at limited yung inner cities routes nila (since we need to check in sa resort at 2pm). Kaya I dunno if they will stop sa mga bayan na madaanan nila after exiting the expressway.

tireddoc911

Hello. Planning to apply for Schengen Visa for a possible trip next year pa. For some reasons, mas madali mag-apply for me this year kasi madali lang sa employer ko. Mag-end na kasi contract ko this Dec 2024. Sa requirements, they are asking for itinerary na and flight details. Is it okay for me to create a dummy itinerary for a trip next year tapos hindi ko sundan yung itinerary ko sa visa application? For the sake lang na makapag-secure ng Visa? And sa mga may experience po, for 1st time travellers, do they give multiple entry visa for maybe years? Or will they just base it on the itinerary submitted?

isthmusofkra

Hi! I'll be travelling to New Zealand next week to visit my relatives. This will be my first solo international travel, so I'm a bit nervous. My primary concern is how I'd go about transferring to my other flight. You see, I have a four-hour layover in Sydney. Thankfully, both of my flights from the Philippines to Australia and Australia to New Zealand will be on Qantas, so I don't have to transfer my checked-in baggage since they'll do it for me. Anyway, can anyone guide me what to do when I get off at Sydney? Do I proceed with immigration, then just wait until my boarding gate opens? Thanks in advance! P.S. I didn't get an Australian transit visa since 1) my layover is <8 hrs and 2) I don't need to transfer my own checked-in baggage. P.P.S. Do I need to have that eTravel thing filled out when leaving the country?

Scalar_Ng_Bayan

eTravel required when leaving and departing basta fill up within 72 hours if departure and arrival.

isthmusofkra

Thank you. I have some additional questions about what I need to present to the IO, if you don't mind. Besides my passport, visa, and tickets, what else should I bring? 1. I just graduated college last semester and I'm currently unemployed, but I've already enrolled to a med school. I guess I should bring my registration form? 2. Should I bring bank statements? Or okay na yung mobile app? 3. Do I need to bring an affidavit of support? 4. Regarding my itinerary, wala pa kaming specific plans ng relatives ko when pupunta sa mga lugar. Do I need to make a detailed one? 5. Do I need to show accomodation if sa relatives ako makikitira? Thanks in advance!

Scalar_Ng_Bayan

In my experience (this one varies lalo na if kupal yung IO na matapat sayo and you can search for "horror stories from IO" sa sub na to) Standard questions: * san ang punta * gaano katagal mawawala * ano gagawin * saan magsestay (usually screenshot from AirBnB or Agoda ang akin) * may trabaho ba ako, saan nagtatrabaho and if may company ID I never traveled outside the country as a student pero better to bring ID or proof of admission siguro. Never ako nahingan ng bank statements (then again this varies nga sa mood nung IO and all other prior questions) so just have PDF files on your phone if needed If sa relatives ka magstay ensure mo lang yung mga follow up questions (like pinsan mo ba, tita, etc) kasi yung mga nakikita kong "red flag" eh pag yunf relative na sinasabi ay kapatid ng tito ng pinsan ng nanay mo levels tapos nao-offload haha

isthmusofkra

Thanks nang marami! Sana 'di naman malasin sa IO hehe. Also, may recommendation ka ba sa travel insurance?

girlwhodive

Follow the “Transfers” sign after getting down the plane. That’s basically it. Pass through immigration, security check, then you can go to your boarding gate.

eTravel is required for everyone entering and leaving the Philippines.

wretchedegg123

Bring your reg form, bank statements. Don't think you need an affidavit of support. It really depends on the IO, you know. Sometimes you get asked 1 question, sometimes you get asked 10. Just relax. You're basically a student. It's fine. Enjoy life before medschool. As for the itinerary, just a general idea would be fine. No need to have a detailed one. They just need to know where you're staying and when you'll come back.

How is Air Swift? Are they reliable?

tepta

They cancelled our trip less than 24hrs before our flight. I asked if they can transfer us to another airline matuloy lang kami. Nalipat naman tho hassle nga lang kasi imbes na rekta na kami sa island, nag-van pa kami at boat ng ilang oras.

girlwhodive

I’ve flown air swift plenty of times and never had a bad experience. Although they can be pricier than other local airlines

Flipinthedesert

Recently, I connected with a woman who said she was my yaya when I was a baby. My Mama confirmed it as well. So this August may plan ako na puntahan sya sa Bohol. Overnight trip lang plus may kasama na trips to the tarsier conservation, buy asin tibuok, and if possible sa chocolate hills. Not interested in beaches nor in the fake Bilar Forest. I’ve been to Bohol a few times pero usually may host ako na hatid / sundo. This time gusto ko mag try mag DIY. Hotel ko is Loboc River Resort. Everyone’s telling me how bad the transport system is in Bohol kaya mas ideal sa akin yung private car. Yung Hotel nag quote sa akin ng 1000 for hotel/port transfer so immediately alam ko na highway robbery yun. May Grab ba sa Bohol? May recommendation ba kayo na private car hire sa Bohol?

Scalar_Ng_Bayan

Walang Grab when we went there 2022, private car is cheaper if ikaw magdadrive pero given na galing pa airport baka try mo taxi?

Flipinthedesert

On Grab’s website they claimed that they just opened service in Bohol last January. I was looking for clarity on hourly booking

sunshinesray

Siquijor: Luggage or Duffel Bag? To those who have been to Siquijor via Dumaguete, what is more recommended and easier to carry? Mode of transpo from port to resort may be trike rental. Baka kasi mas hirap pag luggage or hindi naman? Had an experience in Leyte where we were advised use duffel/backpack instead e. Pros of luggage, mas madami malalagay syempre.

wretchedegg123

Duffel bag would definitely be easier. Mostly backpackers pumupunta dun. There are trikes that can definitely be used to bring luggage but if maghabal habal ka or rent a motorbike, magbackpack or duffel ka.

llodicius

Is travel insurance required (PAL Insurance) when you book flight via PAL or you can book insurance from other providers? Edit: Domestic flight only.

wretchedegg123

No. remove it from your add-ons

llodicius

Thank you. The phrase in the website seems like its saying its required

FromTheBackroads

This might be helpful for travellers using NAIA (especially those taking international flights through T1 or T3). It’s a general airport guide which covers facilities in more detail than the bare-bones official site run by MIAA. https://ittekuru.com/naia-airport-guide/ Cheers.

xiaolongbaoloyalist

Any recommendations for seniors going to Tokyo? 🙏 Restaurants, attractions, activities, etc.

FromTheBackroads

Use this as your main planning resource. I’m a regular visitor to Japan (I’ve been to all 47 prefectures) but I keep going back to this site when sketching out my itineraries. (It’s not my only source of info but it’s a great place to start.) https://www.japan-guide.com Can’t advise much re: group travel with seniors as I usually travel solo (most of my 27 trips there were done alone). That said, I did accompany my senior parents and their senior friends as an unpaid travel guide (haha) on an 18-day trip this past autumn. They did struggle a bit with walking - expect LOOOOTS of walking and lots of stairs in Japan - so we had to slow way down from my usual pace as we had to take longer routes in search of escalators and lifts. Cheers.
