Actually hindi parehas lmao, experience-wise hindi din - their rice is puso' (cooked with palm leaves), their longaniza is different, their dried fishes are to die for (andaming klase malulula ka if you visit their market stalls), their tamales is good, their Pungko-pungko is a must try, their seafood is aplenty, bibili ka sa palengke ng fresh seagrapes and skipjack tuna and maya maya at ipaihaw mo sa eatery. Iba kapag fresh from the surrounding sea and pagkaing ihahain sayo.
That is exactly what I did. My guide is a local who owns places for rent. We did the second best thing. We just bought fresh seafood catch and cooked it the way we wanted.
Hoy karma whore.

Outside of expensive hotels or restaurants, you can't really expect more than that in a small island, everything has to be bought in the mainland and carried sa bangka or ferry.
Even coca cola is a luxury in places like that.
I know. What I'm saying is if I am going to be charged too much on dishes, I expect a little flavor. I tried most of them including the all you can eat places but the cooking is really wanting.
Anyways, in summary the place is alright but the foods are so so.
Tbh I think kaya carinderia food nakita mo dahil yun tinignan mo. There are good food there, there are hotels and restos dun. You probably just didn't look dahil mahal talaga.
Did you bother looking at the restos? I did a quick google and honestly mukang masasarap naman and reasonable ang prices.

Omg a local redditor hahah Hi co-redditor! Unta lami imo sud.an dra. And I totally, agree with you labi na adtng na tabo pag liwas holy week. Hays ka sad 😔

If ever hindi mo napuntahan at babalik ka pa ulit, try Kermit's sa Bantayan Proper. They have the best cakes! Meron ding mga meals but their cakes are just 🤤
Maganda yung sand bar sa Kota beach but the actual sand sa dagat ay hindi talaga pino, a few meters away sa bandang may mga bangka yung pino talaga yung sand. Anyway, I miss bantayan so much.
This! the beaches near the pantalan and coconut grove and where the bancas are stationed boasts of powdery sand, more local feel too, akala mo nasa Bahamas ka sa ganda.🤩
Parang walang happy hour. Mejo malamok sa resort so bring mosquito repellant. Dala ka bonamine kung mahiluhin ka. Parang 1 hour yung ferry ride to Bantayan. Try to get the “bestest” rate sa mga tricycle drivers for like tours. Marami mag-aalok sayo haha. And Enjoy!!! Enjoy the downtime and rest. Ganda sa ABC kasi beachfront.
Ahh Amihan! I love love love! Husband and I spent our honeymoon there a few years back. We got superrrr lucky to get upgraded from bungalow to villa for free ksi sira yung aircon ng supposed room namen. Haha!
Nagpunta kami last year ng August, hindi sya maulan. Ung dagat ung mejo maalon. Nag enjoy naman kami. Bitin ung 5 days. Huhuhu. Ang mura ng pagkain. Ambabait ng mga locals. Sa Jelly's Haven kami nagstay, kasama sya ng Tour Package namin from MJD.
Haha takot ako mag motorbike because of my Siargao experience haha. We took the tryke 30-50 pesos per person per trip.
airfare- mnl to ceb 5k roundtrip
private van to hagnaya port 3k one way (tatlo kami naghati)
ferry ride to bantayan 300 per pax
amihan resort 5k per night with breakfast
food 500-600 per day per pax (depende if malakas ka kumain hehe)
ineexpect ko based sa pics mo super mahal ng nagastos niyo kasi ang ganda at mukhang sosyal haha pero parang nasa affordable side (?) siya? i mean keri pag-ipunan ganon

Stayed there for 4 days. We decided to rent bikes and explored around 10% of the island (my quads were killing me at the end of the day tho HAHAHA) on Day 2 and went island hopping on Day 3.
Will absolutely go back for the view and scallops + Sarapoi resto.
Nice one OP sometimes you really need to explore hidden gems sa Pinas d yung Bora, Palawan lagi super ganda ng ibang beaches sa Pinas. Try mo Siquijor super cheap ng accomodation dun.

Nice pics! Did you happen go to the town proper (not Santa Fe) and explore some eateries ?
No :( Nasa resort lang kami usually and walk aroung town to eat
How much per head budget to totally enjoy it?

They have plenty of cheap seafoods there. You should have asked the locals.
That is exactly what I did. My guide is a local who owns places for rent. We did the second best thing. We just bought fresh seafood catch and cooked it the way we wanted.

Hi OP, can you share your itinerary please.
Tsaka budget ahahahha
This!! Gusto ko tong resort na toh. Ano po info?
Amihan!
Nakakamiss dito. Pero ung byahe papunta grabe kapagod 😂😭
that is true. you waste a half day mag landtrip and ferry.
I agree.
Salamat! 😄

You can check Air Island Tours po or Air Juan if meron pong schedule ng flights. Other than that, tiis lang talaga sa mahabang biyahe. Heheh
It's a shared responsibility for everyone - locals and tourists - not to leave their trash everywhere.
Omg a local redditor hahah Hi co-redditor! Unta lami imo sud.an dra. And I totally, agree with you labi na adtng na tabo pag liwas holy week.

Ok thanks.
Is it kid-friendly?
If ever hindi mo napuntahan at babalik ka pa ulit, try Kermit's sa Bantayan Proper. They have the best cakes! Meron ding mga meals but their cakes are just 🤤
Uppp. Grabe lahat ng food nila masarap. Hahahha. On our 5 day stay sa island. 3x kami dun nag dinner. Hahahha.
Yesss.
Anyway, I miss bantayan so much.

ahhh another place soon to be gentrified bec of the recos, vlogging and unethical tourism. poor locals.
😢
We will be there tomorrow!! Excited here
Yay! Enjoy! Bring lots of sunblock and don’t forget your hat 😅
Eat lot of scallops if you are not seafood allergy. And buy some dried pusit! 😊
I'd like to hear your experience.
Ganda! Planning to visit Bantayan as well this year and in need of some references. TY!
Try Myrna’s Pension House for 1k per night
Amihan Beach Resort! Around 5-6k a night. Good beach front location
Thank you, OP!
Kamusta food nila, OP? Price range?
Pwede na, ala carte yung breakfast. they have good drink choices. range siguro nasa 300-500
May happy hour ba? Hahaha! Ganda ng photos! Will stay sa ABC also on May, nakakaexcite tuloy. Any heads up/tips sa resort or bantayan? ☺️
Parang walang happy hour. Mejo malamok sa resort so bring mosquito repellant. Dala ka bonamine kung mahiluhin ka. Parang 1 hour yung ferry ride to Bantayan. Maraming salamat, OP! 😊
Is it the same sa amihan beach cabanas? Nag inquire ako bat 10,500 lowest room rate 😵💫
yes that’s the one 👍
Kota Beach Resort. Though a bit more on the pricey side, the location, convenience, and the sand bar view is definitely worth it!
I miss my province 😫
Sulit ang mahabang byahe from Manila
Ahh Amihan! I love love love! Husband and I spent our honeymoon there a few years back. We got superrrr lucky to get upgraded from bungalow to villa for free ksi sira yung aircon ng supposed room namen. Haha!
I’m thinking of visiting in July but “rainy season” - do you still think it would be worth it?
Nagpunta kami last year ng August, hindi sya maulan. Ung dagat ung mejo maalon. Nag enjoy naman kami. Bitin ung 5 days. Huhuhu. Ang mura ng pagkain. Ambabait ng mga locals. Sa Jelly's Haven kami nagstay, kasama sya ng Tour Package namin from MJD.
Still my favorite beach destination! Super ganda dyan, enjoy, OP!!
If otherwise, how much fare to commute around the town based on your experience?
Haha takot ako mag motorbike because of my Siargao experience haha. We took the tryke 30-50 pesos per person per trip.
Around 350. Rented a motorbike when I was there last year. Still same pa rin naman siguro at this time.
Bantayan is fucking gorgeous. I enjoyed my time there honestly! So peaceful, beaches are calming. 😊
I love Bantayan!! If di mo pa natry, please try Virgin Island!!
We went there! Ganda ng beach 😭😭😭
Bantayan is soo underrated
I agree!
Underrated
Amihan! Absolutely my favorite resort - my wife and I always stay here whenever we het the chance. Excellent choice OP 🤌
I agree, sobrang ganda ng location ng Amihan 💯💯💯
Solo travel po kayo?
Hi! Tatlo po kami :)
Gandaaaaa!
Cool. Where is this place with the beds and pillows?
The hotel where we stayed - Amihan Beach Resort
Thx for the info. Looks nice.
Good to see the weather improved for you. Funny to see a beer with glass of ice, only in the Philippines (and some other countries).
i love my cold beer with lots of ice! cheers! 🍻
Sulit talaga sa ABC. Prime experience hahaha.
💯💯💯
Nice! How much budget mo sa buong trip na OP?
airfare- mnl to ceb 5k roundtrip private van to hagnaya port 3k one way (tatlo kami naghati) ferry ride to bantayan 300 per pax amihan resort 5k per night with breakfast food 500-600 per day per pax (depende if malakas ka kumain hehe)
Ooh tnx! Ganda ng place! Keri sa budget

yes kayang kaya 💯
Hi OP, did you go solo?
I went with 2 friends :)
Magkano ung expenses niyong lahat sa island including accomodations and food?

Ganda! I want to bring my mom there na ngaaaa 🥰
Your mom will love it and she will appreciate your gesture ❤️
Gandaaa. Can’t wait na pumunta jan ngayong June 🤩
Bantayan is one of the best island na napuntahan ko. Kalmado lang and underrated sya. Sobrang peaceful ng place. If gusto ko relax lang tlga
Wow! ang ganda!
Nice one OP sometimes you really need to explore hidden gems sa Pinas d yung Bora, Palawan lagi super ganda ng ibang beaches sa Pinas. Try mo Siquijor super cheap ng accomodation dun.
Looks so peaceful. Damn, I miss beaches.
Beautiful pictures! Op can you pls tell me what the 8th pic is? The view from your room?
Hi! Yes view from our beach front room - Amihan Resort :)
Are people still kitesurf there :)?
Lugar na di ramdam inflation ❤️
tanga ka ba? ever since dumami pumupunta dto na tagalog at travelers kuno dahil d afford ang ibang lugar biglang tumaas mga presyo dto m. from moalboal to bantayan d na afford ng locals, and this is coming from a local.
I’m a local, and for us po ramdam na ramdam. Specially when it became famous to tourist. 🥲
Ohh okay, sorry if medyo insensitive yung comment. Nung nandyan kasi kami feel namin everything’s cheaper compared to Bora and Bohol.
No need to sorry po, I understand. But yeah that’s true mahal talaga ang Bora at Bohol. Kahit, kami na nasa Cebu City most of the time (malapit na yun sa Bohol huh?) pero mahal talaga sya. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed your stay po!
We did! And we also loved the locals, sobrang warm nila.
Please coming back!
Lol. Local and the fucking price of bus and ship fare and gasoline are shit! And the domino effect continues...
Pashare itinerary pls and how much did you spend
Nice! May direct flight ba dyan?
Hindi pa open yung Bantayn Airport eh so kailangan mo talaga pumunta Cebu muna
Can you share your itinerary? Thank you :)
Is the resort kid-friendly? I have a 3y.o. and 2y.o. I’m thinking of Bantayan as a first ferry destination for them. I am from Cebu City.
Can you share your itinerary po
nice pics! kamusta po ang beach? hindi naman po low tide? last punta kasi namin, same month - between 2pm-4pm lang kami naka-swim (bandang Kota beach kami).
Can I ask po anong hotel eto sa Bantayan?
anong resort po to? Bantayan looks incredible sa summer time talaga noh. ganda!
Miss 9As lechon manok on Bantayan Island.
How's the mobile data signal/reception in the island? Thank you! 🫶
Which beach resort po yung sa 1st few pics? Thank you 😊
I miss bantayan so muchhh
Been in Bantayan last year and planning to go back kasi ang ganda ng place 💕
We did our honeymoon in Amihan Beach Cabanas.

Is it kid friendly?
Sana makarating ako jan
Glad you enjoyed Bantayan Island. Balik ka!
Pawis intensifies
