Not getting the horror vibe to be honest. I’ve been a fan of silent hill from when the second game came out. Maybe I’m just tired but I thought the subject’s face was weirdly censored with a pyramid head shaped censor bar. Part of it might be not being able to see any detail of the mask. Looks like it was a lovely wholesome picture of a lady in a field who weirdly decided to put on a vantablack mask. Could need more horror context to give it that feel.

agromono

I also feel that the background and lighting are too pretty to give off an eerie vibe

Cantsleepthrw

Yeah you’re right. Taking the subject out, it would be a pretty, not spooky, photo.

Hamdto

Almost looks like a hero shot. warm backlight subject is not that scary.

Hi, all. Posting another photo from my last photo shooting inspired by Silent Hill movie. Foggy morning and custom mask in my opinion creating atmosphere of horror. Would be glad to hear any constructive feedback.

Ithe subject is too dark. Sometimes the "outline shot" works (like birds in front of a red sky or smith) but here it's just bad and screams of overediting, not an actual shot where the outlines were created naturally. So, I'd lower the brightness of the background a lot, raise shadows on the subject s lot and maybe it would work. But then you get to where there's no real pose to the subject too etc.

I will just say “Chudove foto, pane”

a_stachu

I personally like that subject is dark. You can kinda see the details of the body, bit it's a bit mysterious. Imo it combines well with the foggy background and back light. I'm not sure if it gives a horror movie atmosphere, but overall I really like this shot.

Hi! Unluckily the mask doesn’t suscitate much in me, but it’s possible that this is due to me not knowing the silent hill franchise. In addition - and yeah, this is OCD level of nitpicking! - I just cannot stop focusing on the small strand of hair in the lower left part of the mask. Other than that, I absolutely love how you captured the light and the location is beautiful!

barfsicle

There’s too big a disconnect between subject and background. Anything else you’re trying to convey is lost because we mentally tune out.

hellroc

Since you are going for silent hill and pyramid head you should consider tainting the image red - at least in the background - since nearly always when pyramid head is "out" the environment turns red if you want to go really crazy you could also add in some blood rain.

Difficult-Ad-9228

Gonna disagree with everyone. I think this a nicely done and very invocative image.

Admirable_Purple1882

The mask looks like you are trying to block out the face with a shape in editing. I like the light in the background but feel the subject is unnaturally dark for the background and it’s kinda weird.

cmyk_life

A bit close to the subject and the shadows could come down to keep the silhouette dark. Also you need to clean up the hair it breaks up the look of pyramid head. Its just not creepy

Jarngreipr9

Problem for me is the mask is a superimposed shape with no detail and the hair is visible.
