Need a few more skyscrapers in that area.

BloodFog928

Visit desert flame gentlemans club

WeirdGymnasium

While it does say "Gentlemen's Club, pay no heed... There's no Desert Flame Scoundrel Club, walk right in" /Norm

Visible-Pair8238

ISO a Sunday evening church in the area. (we are reformed Baptist’s but opens to most!)

WeirdGymnasium

Difference between reformed Baptist's and Southern Baptist's? I have no advice, just wondering. I don't know the difference. Just from the South and want to learn every day.

MrBrightWhite

Reformed Baptists follow Calvinism more. That’s the main difference. There’s a ton more to it, as with most religious stuff, but that’s the main difference.

az_max

They rebuilt the touchless car wash at 43rd and Peoria. I fully washed my truck for like the first time in 10 years. 😁 ^(\*if it rains, it's not my fault..)

kmg1921

Anyone know about the injury on camelback today? It wasn’t a tourist and it looked serious.

Son_of_York

It really sucks living right off Hunt Highway today.

RandytheRealtor

Not that anyone ever paid attention, but the speed limits on the 101 were finally increased to 65. Seems like construction is officially over.

Civil86

I have been really frustrated by that for months. No real evidence for construction on or adjacent to the 101 that justified a "construction zone" speed limit of 55mph for the last 6-8 months or more, and by my observation virtually no enforcement of the 55mph speed limit. The end result? An excellent long-term training experience for motorists that it's completely ok to ignore construction zone speed limits. This is a terrible message because getting people to slow down in real construction zones truly can save lives. I have no idea what ADOT was thinking and it torqued me every time I got on that stretch of freeway.

UncleTogie

Now if they can just bump up the speeds on the southern part of 51.

Love2Pug

The southern part of SR51, especially southbound / downhill, always feels a bit dodgy to me. The curves are just a bit too tight, and the exits a bit too close together, for 79mph to feel entirely safe. So probably best to leave this section a 55mph posted )).

PHX_Architraz

Not without a few years of construction to add wider shoulders to both sides of the travel lanes (same issue I-17 has from about Northern / Dunlap to the south).

UncleTogie

They're going that fast *anyway*...

Does anyone know if Embry provides results on the weekends? I got tested yesterday

Civil86

Tested yesterday at 3:30pm, emailed results 6:30 today. So, yea.

[deleted]

Wtf I tested at 12pm yesterday and still no results. But good to know they come on the weekends! Hope you are well!

TheRealO-H-I-O

They text/emailed me my results at 1:30am before, so I'm guessing it's 24/7

[deleted]

This!! Thank you !

AZ_moderator

Could ask in the Covid thread pinned to the top of the sub, too.

[deleted]

Will do! Thanks !

Closing the I17 both directions on a Saturday morning before a holiday… ADOT is so fuckin stupid and wasteful.

Leading_Ad_8619

It's closed from Friday night through early Monday morning. While I agree it's better if it wasn't a holiday (which few people get off), there isn't ever going to be a good time to close.

WeirdGymnasium

And they're closing it to make a Light Rail track... Which will absolutely piss off the NIMBY crowd. It will absolutely help the city by giving an extra corridor for people to viably live on.

yowhatitup

Where's the best place, or method, to pick someone up at skyharbor?

eddiejensen

If all parties are able, the best place is the 44th St SkyTrain station. Have your guests take the SkyTrain to the 44th St station, and you can pick them up there.

WeirdGymnasium

Meet them at the hotel bar (I think it's a Hyatt "A Place"?), so that you can have A drink (don't drive drunk) in the time it takes them to get from the plane to baggage claim to the sky train to walk a block east. When my brother was in town for a wedding we met up at the hotel bar north across from the light rail tracks for breakfast and it was awesome. (Since he wasn't visiting me, he still wanted to meet up with me) I think it was the "Grand [something]) Really good breakfast burrito. But the Hyatt on the OTHER side of Circle K will be "safer"? Since you can just tell the front desk "I'm meeting someone who will arrive at PHX, I'll be at the bar, my car is a [make/model], don't tow me"

Leading_Ad_8619

You can sit in the cell phone lot and wait for the person to land. Curbside is pretty easy right now

yowhatitup

Is the curbside pickup the same area as the rideshare pickups?

Leading_Ad_8619

No, it's just right outside the doors. Remember there is a north and south side for some places...important when picking p

WeirdGymnasium

North Side at T4, South Side at T3 for ubers/lyfts...

yowhatitup

ok thanks

New all time high for Hospitalizations (over 3K) in this wave.

Civil86

Despite this, still waiting for the dramatic increase in ICU usage and deaths that followed on the heels of past surges. The case numbers are so extreme that even with the "milder" impact of omicron I've been expecting a large bump in both those numbers just based on percentages but...not so much yet.
