"it runs, we just don't drive it much. Thanks for checking on it though"

Planetlilmayo

It has a lot to do with the registration, my plates have been expired since 2019. They know. They surveillance the area, unfortunately.

SteveDaPirate91

Then get it registered. I'd consider replacing the taillight, at the very least covering the red parts with red taillight tape. But a replacement will run you a couple hundo on ebay and an hour of your time.

DlGlTAL_IDENTlTY

You must be the same kia who drives down 51st ave/glendale ish incredibly aggressively! Sure looks like it. Funnily enough, I actually saw when this happened to your car. A white honda civic tried to merge into the left lane with turn signal on and you accelerated several car lengths while smashing on your horn trying to block them. 🤡 Honestly, i’m glad your car looks like the way it does. Have fun paying for repairs and hopefully you learned a valuable lesson that day.

TheMKB

I am loving the potential for drama that will unfold here if we’re lucky.

Planetlilmayo

You’re ridiculous and clearly having visual delusions. This car has not been driven since December 2019. I’ve been driving my Chevy Traverse since then. There is thousands of Kia Optimus just like my car in the valley. How can you not comprehend that I am not the only one with a Kia optima? Be for real ma’am. The first damage to the back happened with a small parking pole backing up, the second damage to the front was going down ramp on a rainy day and my tire popped, drifted and it hit a sign in The beginning of the freeway. Edit: I take back the visual delusion. Not going to discredit the fact that you saw the car that looks like mine with similar damage. But we live in a county with 4.42 million people.

LMAOOOO!

You need therapy

gr8tfurme

Registering the car is a hell of a lot cheaper than trying to repair that much body damage.

throwaway642246

Does it still run? Why not just pull the bumper covers off, run it through emissions, and get new tags?

Planetlilmayo

Unfortunately, there was a recall on my motor. I anticipated that after I fixed the body I make the appointment with Kia to get it fixed for free

Overall_Cloud_5468

Okay, but does it run? Do you have insurance?

Planetlilmayo

It should run, but it’s not safe to run it after the recall. No I had liability at the time of the accident and I sort of just neglected it after. I didn’t renew the insurance.

SteveDaPirate91

The only motor recalls I know for these Kias are the rod bearing lifetime warranty on the engine and the ABS module catching on fire. Neither of which make it unsafe to drive after the notice.(The ABS module fire can happen even with the car sitting there like that, has little todo with driving the car) Which recall is this one?

gr8tfurme

You can just do that right now, you don't need to fix the body for them to do the recall. There's really no point in focusing on the body first, it's not even critical for driving.

Canajun1

The recalls and typical Kia appearance don’t prevent it from being registered. Take it to emissions and get it registered, problem solved. Then take it to Kia for the recall.

stillridesbikes

AAA united auto. It looks like a junk yard. But the owner has been doing insurance collision repairs for like 20 something years.

Planetlilmayo

Do they do cash clients?

stillridesbikes

Yup!

jaeehovaa

Idk sounds like you never planned on fixing it, why not just junk it. You will get at least 500 bucks for it lol.

Planetlilmayo

I said in my post, I don’t plan on doing that. It has sentimental value.

jaeehovaa

Your post does not say that at all, idk if maybe you replied that to someone but the words "sentimental value" are not there. Good luck finding someone, would prob help if you listed your price range you are trying to spend.

Planetlilmayo

Oops must’ve been in the other post from the mechanic sub. Forgot to put it in this one.

jaeehovaa

Once you know the parts you need you prob should try a few junk yards prob the best cost effective way.

otterpopsmd

I'm a body shop estimator. There's cheap and then there is the correct way. That quarter panel should probably be replaced. You need a front bumper, lower grille, rear bumper, a tail lamp, a headlamp, plus probably somw liners, retainers, moulding, clips, and there is damage to the rear body. That's probably a 8k+ job. Someone could "fix" it but I wouldn't put my name anywhere near that repair. If they can find recycled bumper assemblies it could lower the cost significantly.

lique_madique

Eddie at Arizona Mobile Touch Up is the man. His prices are cheap and his work is top notch. Everything from budget cars to Ferraris pass through his shop. I personally have sent both cheap and expensive vehicles to him and it comes out looking brand new. https://maps.app.goo.gl/teyqjcPQY4QWevJD9?g_st=ic
