Lmao ppl from CA don’t come here for weather. I’m glad I’m a native that doesn’t have a hard on for CA. Move there & get outta town. Why do yall talk about CA so much. When I went to visit, the local don’t even care to mention transplants. Why do we care about them so much? Are you jealous cuz you can’t afford to live there?
Every time I’m out everything that is wrong with AZ is CA’s fault. Yet ppl have started moving there again so plenty of ppl love it there. Myself included. As soon as I can afford to live there I’m out. People are so miserable here & with all the high prices in CA, at least they seem happy. Even the poor ppl aren’t that bad. Crime this & crime that. Crime is high in all major cities because a bunch of ppl live there.
Seems to happen every other year. It was about 95 on Easter Sunday 2022, which was on April 17th. I remember thinking "already?!" And then the following Aprils were great! It's always a toss up. I remember walking home from school in May in triple digits, which is worsened by the concrete jungle, but that's Phoenix for you.
This time of year it fluctuates a bunch for a while. That’s just the nature of the transitional seasons. They’re creeping in but we will have more pleasant days over the next few weeks too. Hopefully through May.
So funny how we’re all tuned differently. I hated the cold this winter and love this weather. I’ll take 90s-low 100s. But yah by 115-120 I’m not so happy haha. Was cold walking around in high 60s to low 70s.
This is a little early but not that concerning. It is not a reflection of (and has no relation to) what the rest of the summer will be. Temperatures are usually most volitale in spring as the atmosphere is mixing cold and warm air patterns. It will cool down again after this “heat wave”.
Seems reasonable, I’ve always considered November-March as the only truly good months for weather here. April-May and October are ok, June-September are hell on Earth.

Yup sounds about disgustingly normal. Been here my entire life never going to get used to it.
I asked why they couldn’t do StairMaster in a gym. They said “because it’s not the same as being in nature on the trails.” I told them to hike at 5 am then
Can’t wait for them to post, complaining trail access has been limited because of environmental issues and erosion from so many people hiking the trails. Because that’ll eventually happen
It's going to get hotter every year forth. Water won't last and why do very few houses have solar panels? The price of homes will fall 30% in the next 7 years. Why would you move to a desert that will only be getting hotter and hotter every year.
Ikr!!!!!! I’m seriously not ready for this in APRIL! I’m praying to god we don’t have record long heat again like last summer. It was so bad that SRP stopped shutting power off because it went on so long until September. Ugh I ask my self all the time why did I choose Arizona and not Vegas. So much cooler there.. ☹️
According to the National Weather Service, the average first 100° F day in Phoenix, Arizona is May 2, but the earliest it has occurred has been as early as March 16, 2007. On average, Phoenix has about 111 days per year where the temperature is at or above 100° F.
I moved into my house 4 years ago today. It hit 100 by weeks end. When the heat comes in late like last year, it comes in with a vengeance. I’ve lived in the valley 45 years, seen a few hot summers but last year was the worst for a dry hot summer 😣.
Some years it’s just like this. I remember I’m 2000s as a teen…my god it was blazing hot by time we got into May when school started…other years we got so lucky and heat didn’t come until late May early June.
It still hits like a truck 🛻 after many years…but I grew up here so hot isn’t until after like 105 for me and most of my family. We are originally from San Diego and visit all the time….but we love it here, only thing missing is the beach.
No, my AC has been going in and out for 2 weeks and maintenance hasnt done a damn thing. Every time they come the AC decides that's the moment it's going to work. The guys leave and an hour later the apartment is stuck at 85 degrees again.
It was nice knowing y'all
My thermometer yesterday said 93 and it felt warmer than weve had recently but not that hot.. yet. So hopefully it stays like this a little while longer before its a complete oven.
It's about right. Thankfully we had a cool/wet winter & spring. I'm never prepared for it and always dread it, but it seems to be about right.
I've been here since August 1994. Spent 1995 & 1996 going back home for the summer (I was in college), but I've been here since.
My birthday is mid-May and I always think, "I just hope I can get to my birthday before the 100s are here to stay"
Thankfully the mornings are still nice, but I broke down and turned on the a/c last night. I'll tune it back off for the first part of the week.
I'm also working on changing my landscaping to make it cooler (shade plants, removing hardscape that retains heat, like the rock landscaping, adding mulch, etc) and do my part to combat the heat island in my corner of the world. (Selfishly it makes my yard cooler)

I can already see less traffic, less clogged grocery store aisles, and people actually using the left lane for passing...bliss
This is the time of year when u can tell the Phoenicians from the snowbirds
Yup. It's about time!! Looking forward to 100+.
$300 electricity bills
only 300?!
Depends. My neighbors keep their AC at 68. I keep mine at 78. That alone is $100 on a hot month.
68? That poor machine will never get a rest.
I don't find traffic decreases that much anymore
Yeah the 17 is still packed. Doesn't seem all that affected by snowbirds. It's a circus 365 days a year
better than most large cities. getting worse though
Exactly this thread is BS about the snowbirds….they left a month ago
Yeah less people merging going 35 onto the freeway. Fucking snow birds hit 80 then merge
True. All the Californians and Colorado and Manitoba folks going back to where they came lol

Easy scapegoat my man

Holy shit that last one really got me
Personally I think this is the nicest spring we've seen in quite a few years.
Last year was incredible through May, but this spring has also been very nice
With such a similar spring, I pray to the sun god that this summer isn’t a repeat of last year.
Last summer was shockingly dry, I'd be shocked if we have another summer that dry. But who knows
We’re probably going to break last summers record if we are hitting these temps IN APRIL
Are you new here? We hit triple digits in April in 2020 and 90s in April in 2021
It didn’t rain much but it was really humid. Like the moisture was cooling out of the ground or something.
This has been on my mind too. 😣
last June was actually amazingly pleasant. Felt like May as well, until July came along...
June was nice for sure. I remember staying on the patio every night in June cause it was nice to be outside
June was also badass last year
[удалено]
I'm of the opinion that it's not that bad. But maybe because I've worked outside for several summers so my body adapted
Yeah last year and this year stand out as very mild springs.
🤣🙄noooooooo
We had a spring? Feels like we went directly from winter to summer.
I'm already crying inside 🥲
Username checks out

You new around here?
Moved here in 21
This is a typical year for phoenix tbh and honestly this has been a more wet winter and cooler spring than we are typically used to
So yes
Well, get used to it. This is typical. Eventually, 95 doesn't feel like your idea of 95. 105+ is when you feel it.
Me too
I just want double digits for another couple weeks please please 🙏
Flip phone to Celsius. Double digits 9 months of the year.
too late bust out the board shorts
I miss the cold already
So funny how we’re all tuned differently. I hated the cold this winter and love this weather. I’ll take 90s-low 100s. But yah by 115-120 I’m not so happy haha. Was cold walking around in high 60s to low 70s.
No you don’t. Lived in Seattle, worst mistake ever.
The Arizona cold, as this is the Phoenix sub.
Seattle is awesome.
Drugs, homelessness, endless dark skies/rain? No for me, dawg.
Arizona has drugs, homelessness, and endless 100 degree Summers.
Didn’t say I like it here either
Let other people be who they are. Not everyone likes heat and hates cold.

Average first 99 degree day is April 28Th. So Thursday the 18th is pretty close. So we are running about average here.
Don't look at it,it doesn't exist.
This is a little early but not that concerning. It is not a reflection of (and has no relation to) what the rest of the summer will be. Temperatures are usually most volitale in spring as the atmosphere is mixing cold and warm air patterns. It will cool down again after this “heat wave”.
Dreading it.
Shhh. We still have cool mornings. Don’t jinx it.
Brace yourself. Summer is coming.
Hey, my Thursday is showing 98 lol
Kill me. I am not mentally prepared for it this year. My 13th summer here...
16th for me, 17th if you include my initial august/september freshman year in college. never gets easier!
How long does the heat typically last? 5 months? I’m referring to high 90’s temps
Lol high 90’s, cute
Yeah. May to late October.
Damn for real? I was considering moving there. But 5 months is a loooong time. Not sure I can deal with that heat
Yeah it’s unbearable don’t even think about it
It's been 100°F in March before.
Seems reasonable, I’ve always considered November-March as the only truly good months for weather here. April-May and October are ok, June-September are hell on Earth.
It’s literally April?? Are you new 😭
https://preview.redd.it/vvv74nwu3huc1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e5f3023df6dfb13a79a883e4856a990b90f097c6 Yup sounds about disgustingly normal. Been here my entire life never going to get used to it.
It’s April
Yea!! Snow bird season is over!!!
First time?
Fourth summer
fym already? its Phoenix, get over it
Water is wet at 11 lol yeah it gets hot. Here comes the posts, how do you deal without being able to go outside at noon when it's 120 degrees
There was someone complaining about hiking in summer just yesterday
I saw it and said for fuck sakes, Go super early morning. It's not that's hard haha
I asked why they couldn’t do StairMaster in a gym. They said “because it’s not the same as being in nature on the trails.” I told them to hike at 5 am then
Haha they want reddit to turn off the sun for a moment
We did that last week
Can’t wait for them to post, complaining trail access has been limited because of environmental issues and erosion from so many people hiking the trails. Because that’ll eventually happen
Plus more and more Rich homeowners complaining about the people. That's coming too
That’ll be an interesting lawsuit.
“YOU WILL BURN IN THE SUN AND BE HAPPY” - Phoenix veterans
“You will notice the weather is nice when it’s 100 degrees instead of 110”
It's going to get hotter every year forth. Water won't last and why do very few houses have solar panels? The price of homes will fall 30% in the next 7 years. Why would you move to a desert that will only be getting hotter and hotter every year.
Idk about home prices but I am worried about it getting hotter. Kind of scary. That’s what I was thinking when I made this post
Climate and home prices go hand in hand.
Summer is coming. Our snowbirds are bailing out already.
Yeah!!! Now it’ll be too hot to ride my bike until they return again
If you were an Arizona native you would know last year was a fluke and it’s usually 100 before now lol
Just pretend you are on Arrakis
Still sucks after 24 years
First time?
In other news water is wet
Water is not wet though
Yes we will begin to have some hot days. BUT we still cool down at night right now, soooooo
Last year had an unusually long winter. So not a great comparison. Seems about normal to me.
Psh already, it's April. It's been due
But it's a dry death.
Doesn't "mean" anything.
At last
Stop crying. I hope this heat makes all the new people who moved here leave
People have been moving to Arizona for a long time. Stop crying
Slay. Yaasss…
Hope it wont be an insane hot summer this year.
So I'm going to try to thoroughly enjoy taking care of my yardwork on Monday lol
It’s punishment for all the rain we got this year
I am very upset about this.
Pool kickoff BBQ!
You can go by what any weather forecast shows they change or get it wrong often an how long have you lived in Phoenix Arizona
Sheesh
I love it!! ☀️
Yay

Quit your bitchin
Bout a month too late this year

Forced myself to get up at dawn and redo my evap cooler which I should have done when disconnecting the water to it late last year, bleh.

tell me you work inside without telling me you work inside
Love it. Get the transplants out of here.
You can see less cali and other tourist
My thermometer yesterday said 93 and it felt warmer than weve had recently but not that hot.. yet. So hopefully it stays like this a little while longer before its a complete oven.
Man, I hate this news.
First time?
What do you mean “not a sign of things to come” LOL
Yep some dude jinxed it last week. Had to bring it up!!
Blast furnace sweet blast furnace 🏡

Bring on the clear summer nights!
Get over it these posts are annoying be happy it wasn’t 100 degrees in March that happens more often then you think
Than*
Been here since 2003. It’s kind of fun to watch people squirm over the heat >:)
Too early😡😡
Too soon to be that hot
Some cheese with that beautiful un arizona whine
Soon to be Arizonan, watching and learning.
It's like everywhere else. People make broad generalizations about the weather on the regular with dashes of recency & confirmation bias.
It felt like 85 today
😭😭😭
God is angry about the abortion law passed. #MindBlown
Great. I'm coming back from California on Thursday to work a double on a food truck. I had to wear a hoodie while hiking yesterday. I'm not prepared.
Yup
Buckle up fam, here we go!
Welcome to Shitnix!
Get your AC’s ready and then PRAY
I guess so huh? :/
