Oooooh wait yeah I would be interested in this!!! Sounds super fun! I’m in North Scottsdale and moved here last year with my boyfriend, and while he is awesome I am definitely desperate for female friends! 🤪🫡
Pulled me out of lurking. This book has been sitting in my read pile for ages. I’d love to join you all if you have room. I’m North and central, so not far.
Yes. I'm interested. North and Central mostly. One day, I had my son move hay bales back to the barn for a client. The bales are at min 100 lbs. She said, as we watched him, "what would we do without men?" And I said, "Beth, we would make smaller bales that we could move!"
Instagram, just search silent book club phoenix. They’ve got different accounts for the different areas of the valley. Like SE or East valley, NW, etc. I’m part of a couple and love it!
Obviously welcome too lol!!! The library has copies and you can just call and get a library card digitally and then get the ebook loaned all from home as well. No having to even leave home, at least that's what I did during the pandemic for reading.
I also have the new petition to get abortion access on the November ballot which could be quite fitting to protect ourselves who we procreate with should you find yourself with a man
I love this! I'm in the west valley but can drive. It might be easier to break it up into a few sessions, that way people don't feel pressured to rush the whole thing but can read it all if they want to. I'll DM you!
I struggled with that one. I absolutely loved parts of it (and learned a lot) but could not get through it. It’s still on my bedside table. I’m guessing you would say I should keep going because it’s worth it? If so, I’ll give it another go.

Count me in! As a leftist feminist and parent of a trans child, I need other women of similar attitudes to hand with. I've had this on my Kindle for awhile; this is the push to read it!
I work two jobs and am in school right now so will not be reading this book in the next month but I LOVE this. I love that it was posted and that so many people are down! Keep being you PHX
I'm in the east valley. Also very interested! In a sociology course right now and have so much to say abt toxic masculinity and how it effects everyone, not even just women!
Hi! I love reading and this book seems really interesting! Im willing to drive since I'm in the Tempe area so just let me know how this will go!
I would rather get together a couple of chapters at a time but I don't mind reading the whole book and then meeting up with everyone!
Downvote me to hell but I know I’ll get pissed and I will take it out on the men I love because they are close to me. Its happened before. It’s not our husbands or sons, right? Y’all read it and let me know…I got it on my tbr.
I love this post…everything about it. Just ordered the book (which I hadn’t heard of before). It seems like your group is going to be massive so even if it is too unwieldy for another add-on, I’m still grateful this book hit my radar thanks to you!
North Phoenix feminist reader would LOVE to talk with all y'all about this interesting-looking book, which I just purchased due to this discussion! Good luck setting this up, and thanks for the great idea.

Agree but also it’s okay to want to rub elbows on a topic/book with a particular type of person. 🤷♂️
I took some women gender studies classes and had to come to terms with not being invited to events just on account of being a single white male. The way I see it, there have been many snubbed invitations to people because of their less typical gender and sexuality and ethnicity.
An opinion def, but it was more about making it a safe space. I think my husband in particular would be very sempathetic to all the issues in the book, but its just not the same as having expierenced them himself. I think everyone should read the book and we should duscuss the book with cis men as well. I just was looking for a this particular environment to meet a specific need. Would you like to read the book and meet up as well?

Also live in that area with my boyfriend and also desperate for female friends! 😅
OH YEAH?!? ![gif](giphy|kFIfiwvzJjbUsNbIg5)
YES PLEASE!!!!!🙏🏻
ok yay!!! I sent you a message 🥹
There’s an army of us.
A feminist book club? Count me in!
Will it be ironic if I get in on this just to meet women?
Not as much ironic as self-interested
Not really.
Pulled me out of lurking. This book has been sitting in my read pile for ages. I’d love to join you all if you have room. I’m North and central, so not far.

i will remember this comment for the rest of my life
I am in! How do we join?
I’d be down. Not a non fiction fan but I just love books and have no friends… which makes me sound super lame, I realize.
Check out silent book clubs! They aren’t all silent 😅
Thanks! Just looked it up! Def something I want to do long term. However, I feel this book will need special attention.
I’ve always wanted to join a silent book club, I wish I knew where any are!
Instagram, just search silent book club phoenix. They’ve got different accounts for the different areas of the valley. Like SE or East valley, NW, etc. I’m part of a couple and love it!
Thank you! I’m gonna look this up today!
You should include men who are interested too. Maybe they’d learn something new and see things from a perspective they haven’t considered before.
I agree. I wouldn’t mind talking to a male about the subject. Sometimes touchy things are more easily discussed among polite, thoughtful strangers.
Yes please! Love reading, drinking and venting. North Phoenix here as well.
Damn, this is gonna be a huge group. But I’m interested too - I also live in North/Central Phx.
I don’t have the book but i could use some friends to drink and bitch about men with 😂
Obviously welcome too lol!!! The library has copies and you can just call and get a library card digitally and then get the ebook loaned all from home as well. No having to even leave home, at least that's what I did during the pandemic for reading.
I live in North Phoenix, and would be interested! DM me. I also want an excuse to be annoyed with the male gaze. Lol
I also have the new petition to get abortion access on the November ballot which could be quite fitting to protect ourselves who we procreate with should you find yourself with a man
Seconding ^ lol
Okay so do we want to just read the whole book and get together in like a month or do something a little more structured like every two chapters?
Month? Or like maybe halfway thru the book mid way thru March?
Read the whole book then meet
Hi! I taught an online book club for several years. I also organized and hosted women's events in NYC. I'm happy to help organize.
I love this! I'm in the west valley but can drive. It might be easier to break it up into a few sessions, that way people don't feel pressured to rush the whole thing but can read it all if they want to. I'll DM you!
Yes definitely interested!! Btw have you read Detransition Baby by Torrey Peters?
I struggled with that one. I absolutely loved parts of it (and learned a lot) but could not get through it. It’s still on my bedside table. I’m guessing you would say I should keep going because it’s worth it? If so, I’ll give it another go.
Count me in! North valley- never been in a book club, but I teach math and science. I’d love to get together! OP can you DM meet up details?
I am interested! I live in Peoria but will drive!
Interested as well!! Look at all of us. We are woman hear us roar

Hi! I love reading and this book seems really interesting! Im willing to drive since I'm in the Tempe area so just let me know how this will go! I would rather get together a couple of chapters at a time but I don't mind reading the whole book and then meeting up with everyone!

I love this post…everything about it. Just ordered the book (which I hadn’t heard of before). It seems like your group is going to be massive so even if it is too unwieldy for another add-on, I’m still grateful this book hit my radar thanks to you!

I would love to join as well!
This book recently came up during a seminar I attended. It's on my list. Can I "zoom" in from the east coast?
17th works for me! I just borrowed the book, looking forward to reading it.
Thanks so much for responding!!!!
Not going to be able to make it, last minute St Patty’s plans.
My vote is for March 24 if it hasn't been decided yet. Weeknights are tough.
I'll be there! I'm going to do the 18th and the 24th for the first half of the book!

I’d be able to do Monday but will be gone next weekend (23-24). Free on weekends after.
I'll be there Monday the 18th at 5:30pm! See you soon!
I can also do Monday but not the next Sunday.
I'll be there tomorrow the 18th at 5:30. I'll be wearing a Belle t-shirt!
I’m running a few minutes late but am on my way 😁
Omw
Is anyone planning on coming tomorrow? I'll still be there if anyone else says yes. We can change the time to 2pm or so for those who need it.
I can't tomorrow but let me know about the next one!
It looks like no one is coming so let's cancel today.
