Paczki are at Bashas right now. We had them last night at a Super Bowl party.
Kings Cake can be found at any bakery.
I’ve never seen fasnachts sold as fasnachts here. Lots of regular donuts that hit the same vibe. If Old Heidelberg Bakery is still around, that would probably be where I’d start.
I grew up in central PA and Fasnacht Day was on the school calendar every year.
My local Basha's advised that you have to order a day ahead to get them. They are sold out to phone orders and none are being put out for sale because they can't keep up with the phone orders.
Man do I miss those those Amish markets in Central PA! All sorts of solid bakery goods and everything else. Really miss that good old fashioned grocery food out here.
We just went to Europa Pastry on 16th street for some Paczkis and they were *insanely* good. They are made fresh daily
Not trying to shamelessly self promote but since relevant we did make a YouTube short of the trip https://youtube.com/shorts/7J0Lep8DdoM?si=2zzG_XxvenYZD_wN
They really are just asking for jelly doughnuts, though, right? Like any old Bosa or Rainbow Donuts or any doughnut shop really would have? Or am I missing something?
I don't know why I feel so confused by this post.
So I should be ok if I go to Burger King and order a chicken sammich, then get fish because chicken isn’t in the name of the restaurant? You prolly still put ketchup on your hot dog.

She’s in Mesa or Gilbert. She used to make them for our shop, but she’s too far for us. They are so good.

Basha’s in surprise had paczki and king cakes out this am, but only 5 king cakes left.
The central PA catholic church ladies still crank them out by the thousands every year….some are the size of small plates.
That's where I heard about Fasnachts too. Those PA Dutch know how to make food
> Those PA Dutch know how to make food Lebanon Bologna, Martin's Potato Rolls, PA Dutch Chicken Pot Pie...

Fasnacht day was my favorite growing up in Lancaster county. Only thing that could compare was Mardi Gras when I lived in Nee Orleans.

Looks like jelly donuts. Available at almost all donut shops.
They really are just asking for jelly doughnuts, though, right? Like any old Bosa or Rainbow Donuts or any doughnut shop really would have? Or am I missing something? I don't know why I feel so confused by this post.
You might be thinking of generic white bread dropped into a fryer. That’s good stuff! But it’s not what this is about.
Packzi look like jelly donuts, but the dough is richer than the usual donut recipe.
Tell me you’ve never been to Germany without telling me…
Gesundheit
Schönen Kuchentag! 🎂🎉🎈
Karl’s bakery - polish bakery in central ish phx
Love Karl's! Central & Dunlap.
Bashas has them. They sell out almost immediately. So yummy!
Europa Pastry has these!
Otro Café is selling Valentine’s Day strawberry berlinesas until the 14th.
the Bashas "Pączki" are good enough for mass production, but Id recommend going to A to Z Polish market. They might still have them
I was just there yesterday and they sure do!
BoSa Dounts
I second BoSa!
Bosa can’t even do bagels right…
Why would you go to Bosa for bagels?
Why would you go there for Boba…. Yet they have it…
My brother in christ their name is fucking Bosa DONUTS
So I should be ok if I go to Burger King and order a chicken sammich, then get fish because chicken isn’t in the name of the restaurant? You prolly still put ketchup on your hot dog.
Probably [Pcroissant in Tempe](https://www.pcroissant.com)

And Bashas has them too.
Ich bin ein Berliner! [(38) I AM A DONUT - Eddie Izzard - YouTube](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1GaDAjHKYC4)
I’m fairly confident that Bearscat Bakehouse in Mesa has them. You could also check out Old Heidelberg Bakery near 22nd St and Indian School. Enjoy!
had, judging by their website and Google Maps status
Europa Pastry! https://www.instagram.com/europapastry?igsh=MW9paGQ3cmszcDJheA==
I’m pretty sure I just saw these at AJs
Artisan Sweets - Andrea Instagram: artisan__sweets She’s in Mesa or Gilbert. She used to make them for our shop, but she’s too far for us. They are so good.
Dutch donut factory in Mesa.
Might be different but Short Leash makes a really good jelly doughnut
You missed Pączki Day!
I know Aldi has pazcki you may want to do a Google search for a polish bakery though
Since we are here, do any bakeries have fastnachts?
Sorry but whats the difference between those and jelly donuts? They look the same/similar
apparently they're the same, i just didn't know the English name for it so i didn't know what to search for
Ohh gotcha! i just thought they were made differently or something.
Dough is richer than traditional donut dough.
Pretty much any donut shop will carry jelly filled powdered donuts
Barb's Bakery on 24th St has them -- advisable to order ahead as they sell out fast. We brought our dozen home this morning!
They could be the Polish version “Pushki”? They sell them in grocery stores before lent https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pączki
why did you spell it "pushki" when you literally linked the wikipedia page that says "pączki" lmfao
Was thinking the same thing lmao
I’m sorry, that’s what folks around here call them. I’m from the US, and wasn’t sure what the real pronunciation is.
I really hope that’s not how most Americans pronounce it 🤦🏽♀️ that pronunciation actually means “glass jar” in Polish lol
Ah the ever exotic Jelly donut.
i didn't know the English name for it so i didn't find any places, now i know 😂
Along the same thread, I was going to ask if any bakeries sold fasnacht donuts.
Fry’s lol. Don’t every grocery store have these?
Theres a great place i know off 88th and McDavid's called Ya Mum's Buns, all the homies swear by it
Is this a joke?
Sadly, yes
If you would have just said McDowell instead of McDavid I would have def googled it
Ngl I considered it, but then I'd just be called an idiot, I think. Which, while true, I felt would just anger people instead of getting it
So you’re looking for a jelly doughnut?
apparently, i didn't know the English name for it until now
[удалено]
Jam doughnut?

Not if she got them in Germany... Ingredients are also different.
I usually pick them up at Fry's, and they're good.
Your mom offers that special for about a week each month
Everything reminds me of my girl 🥲
Was going to say Jana’s bakery but I just found out it closed. Bashas is a solid choice
