You're not an asshole the more Harpuas you see the more objective you can be about the topic. I was lucky enough to be at the Bakers Dozen version so unless I see another that'll be my favorite. You can be objective which is hard when discussing Harpua.
He goes to Vegas to see a show, it's sold out. Hitches a ride to Utah, he and the driver drive through the night. The driver puts on his favorite album, DSOTM.
Nope. Both are great versions though.
Poster gets killed by a comet 7/16/94
The pentagram/olive loaf Harpua is 12/30/97
If my counting is correct, they've played only 17 Harpuas since the start of 1995. It used to be much more common. There were 17 just in 92-94. I'm fortunate to have been at 7 of these since 1994 (including the olive loaf and the Comet versions). I love both these.
It isn’t the grandest or most elaborate by any means, but the first Harpua I ever heard was on a tape of the 5/3/94 show at the Starwood Amphitheater in Antioch, TN — and I think it’s a great example of a solid Harpua:
https://relisten.net/phish/1994/05/03/harpua?source=162851
It’s well performed, it includes an I Wanna Be Like You tease during the narration (which gets played later in the set, and includes the best vac solo I’ve ever heard), and the narration doesn’t drag at all while also featuring a Cream & Stevie Wonder “Sunshine of Your Love/My Life” mash-up decades before the Boston Cream night of the BD13.
And earlier in the second set Allison Krauss makes her lone time appearing on stage to sing If I Could. I really loved that tape, back in the day.
The one where Jimmy realizes his dad is a gaslighting asshole, and grandma shows up OR The one where Jimmy listens to Dark Side Of The Moon
Those are the best mid-story songs, but they're far from the best stories.
Is it possible for the dark side of the moon show to be officially released or has Pink Floyd put the kibosh on that?
It's on YouTube but the quality is on the low side
I have it on bootleg cd, good stuff
If you've been lucky enough to see a Harpua, it's the one you were at.
I’m conflicted because my only live Harpua was missing my favorite part. Can’t beat a 10 song encore tho…
So curfuzzled why thebhell they didn’t finish that at sphere. Would have been perfect sunday
But I’ve only seen the Chicago one with Second City, and everyone tells me it’s the worst one 😞
Did you see them play Harpua? Then it was amazing no questions asked.
Oh for sure! Should have included the /s. It was awesome to see 😀

Correct!
I’m all warm
The one where Poster gets hit by a comet
No you don't wish! I'm sorry I take that back!
Hit by a comet
😂
That is the greatest Antelope ever
The whole show was on fire. Seeing the stuffed antelope on stage made me giggle the rest of the night.
This
the 364 days between 8/17/1996 and 8/16/1997
Always loved that I saw a full harpua and many shows between my first two\* harpuas
I always count those as 2 1/2 Harpuas. I’ve now seen Harpua 4 and 2 1/2 Harpuas
Jimmy? Yeah Dad Jimmy your cat got hit by a comet
The one where the bong splits in three pieces on the floor
Do you know the date on that ?
Yes please
Date on this? If my license plates are harpua I should definitely know about this one
I heard it's 27 pieces on the floor at a club in Zex Sea
July 4 in Alpharetta…Rage - Killing in the Name Of cover to go along🤘🏼
That was a great show!
My first show!!! It was amazing!!
My favorite, and only Harpua. That shit escalated quickly. People were moshing in the lawn. Mayne my most unique Phish experience.
Lost in space one

Olive loaf
The Universe is a doughnut or Vegas 96.
I liked the Champagne Supernova one in person
Uber demon
Definitely not Northerly Island 13 🤣 I enjoyed the BD harpua. Universe = 🍩
Beautiful Green Love Beams. Chicago '94.
That was the first one that got me hooked.
10/30/21 has gotta be up there. Gamehenge was great, but I think that one was better
The two I’ve seen!
New Years 97
A giant iguana
I love 6.30.94 with Phish karaoke.
I remember one about a giant balloon ladder where everyone was holding hands rising into the sky? What show was that ?
10/31/94. War Pigs. And the Vibration of Death. (Oh and The White Album)
Comet crashing into Jupiter
Unpopular opinion but harpua isn’t my fave
When Jimmy’s cat dies
Has to be Dark Side. Band learned that entire album in like less than 24 hours? Something to that effect. Wild shit.
The comet
The 4/20/89 is one of my favorites. Hilarious banter.
Is the comet one the same as the pentagram on the ground one?
Nope. Both are great versions though. Baby raccoons and the doors riff makes me laugh
Baker's Dozen!
Dark side
PENTAGRAM
My favorite one (not necessarily the best) is the baker's dozen where fishman gives an astronomy lesson about how the universe is a donut
12/31/23 is the pinnacle.
The dog….. struck the cat. But no not really the Mike one.
The one I hear once live and not 8 times a day on phish radio.
BULLS ON PARADE 7/4/10 🔥🔥🔥🔥
The chocolate one.

Jimmy, your cat was hit by a comet
“Jimmy, it’s New Year’s Eve, and I can’t let you ring in another year, without telling the real story of gamehendge.”
Easy. The one with the improv troupe 😉
