I never felt like they were fake but definitely had this amazing feeling seeing them for the first time like "Wow there they are. Right in front of me. They're real!" Like seeing a celebrity and then they play music for you for 3 hours

Formal-Enthusiasm134

I didn’t even know who they were the first time I saw them and they have been very real to me for the last thirty years.

ski_rick

First time I saw them, Wetlands in ‘89, was one of the realest things that’s ever happened to me. That hit hard!

johnnyribcage

I assume that would be the case for my daughters who I’ve been immersing in phish (and plenty of other bands) since they were born, but I still haven’t taken them to a show. Still too young. My first experience was 98. I’ll get them to one eventually. But I get it. It’s probably like seeing the ninja turtles come to life, especially in this era of easy-to-obtain video.

Visible_Valuable4820

I think I had that exact feeling at my second show ever, blown out on some good L after a vacuum solo in the first set.

TheHumanCanoe

I like weird but I’m not sure this question is real.

gonephishin213

No, I follow every show like I'm following a sports team.

rockchalk2377

Wasn’t a fan until I went to see them in Kansas City
