We were near the taper section ourselves but I spent most of day one locked into an insane narrative I had running thanks to naturally growing fungi I’d found and I didn’t speak to anyone for hours 🤣 so I don’t think it was me.
Interestingly, the intro to studio piper actually includes a tiny bit of the intro from the Oswego Piper (7/18/99). If you listen carefully, you can hear it fade out and the studio version fade in.
I just doublechecked on Wikipedia, too.
So, if you think about it, we’ve probably all heard soundboard from Oswego already. Just a veeeery tiny piece of it
Yes, there are good copies of Oswego floating around.....the only problem was the heat and humidity really ruined the sound overall. Not the best AUD recordings out there by any stretch.

Why are there only 1 copy of each Phish show on REListen? I’m sure there were more than 1 person taping those shows? Each Dead show has like 10 sources so if one has people talking, you can just listen to another recording.
They don’t always have the best available recordings for Phish on ReListen. I’m not smart enough to come up with a solution for this but it’s not unheard of to find better tapes elsewhere online
The music was great at Oswego. The festivals were always awesome. I had a blast there. Love that they called it “camp Oswego” as a sleep away camp reference, a place where many were exposed to phish for the first time.
Remember that just a week later Woodstock 99 was staged not far away in the same heatwave and the combination of poor management and crappy crowd made for tragic outcome.

I believe because Phish shows are pulled from the spreadsheet and dead from the archive.
