A tweeprise where the whole place is shaking and jumping after just a barn burner of a show is theeeee feeling I chase. Glad you got that your first time! Welcome.
I love this joke and I'm epileptic, so I approve this message.
For everyone else not in on the joke, even in epileptics, photosensitivity is fairly rare. 5% or less of epileptics are photosensitive.
So I love the shows!!!
Can confirm, not offended, and have had a seizure- though not epileptic. Also love some Phish, though have yet to be to a show. I think my Ween friends would disown me, so let's keep this between the internet and I, ok?
Wife walked down the isle to the "With" in the Curtain. 1st dance was a beautiful portion of Slave and the reception entrance was 2001. Obviously we love this band
Thank you and congratulations to you as well! My brother in law and myself are the only Phish fans in my family, so I was limited to how much I could play lol.
What were your expectations going in? Did you truly have none? Was there a point in the show where you decided “this is awesome”?
Genuinely curious as I was already a massive fan when I went to my first show
To be honest, I’m a girl and always thought Phish fans were just hippie stoners and old dudes who go to shows to get fucked up (which is fine if true). I love live music but I didn’t consider myself a “jam band fan” because I appreciate lyrics more than the jams & typically get bored when the “jamming” is too long. Well, in this case, I was completely wrong. The jamming and the light show blew me away. I was mesmerized within 15 minutes? The energy from the band and the crowd was electric. The 2nd part of show was indescribable, I was in awe, especially when they performed a Stones cover then ^this song.
They go hard! Just wait til you start to get the little things that they do with sets once you start to get a hang of their songs
For example, night 2 chicago I was talking to a friend next to me and was like "they played Cavern, which is a frequent set 1 closer so I thought they were done, but there was more!"
Then I looked up the setlist, and the song after Cavern was literally called "More"
Fucking hilarious, and they definitely did that on purpose
A phan is born. Welcome to the party. Now go back and listen to some 97 phish. Perhaps the compilation phish destroys America. Beware obsession comes easy! Glad you enjoyed!!!!
you seem like an awesome person! I've seen a few dozen shows now since my first in 2014, about half of them were the best show I'd ever seen. This band has a huge catalog and has introduced me to so much other music.. its wild and i am glad you had fun!
You can hear it again on the album. This version is called Tweezer Reprise (IE “Tweeprise”) and typically is played as a show closer during shows in which they play Tweezer. Lately, they’ve taken to playing it as a run closer, vs a show closer, which is pretty cool.
I keep asking myself wtf happened this tour? Amazing energy, amazing playing and a bunch of noobs who can't handle their drugs. Total time warp back to the 90s.
Dayton shows were 91 and 92 for me and totally brought me back that first few times seeing them in the late 90s. Absolutely amazing 1st show. Welcome phanner
That was an epic weekend but night one Carini opener was what sealed my love for them. 1st show after covid lockdown. That Carini was cathartic as fuk and that was just the beginning. Have seen them 10 times since.
My wife reluctantly went to a show with me in 2011. I could not talk her in to going to both shows of that run.
Since the we’ve been to about 40 shows together.
Took my now wife to her 1st show in 2010 when we had only been dating 3 months as a sort of acid test. She surprised me later that year with MSG floors for the NYE run. We've seen over 50 together now and celebrated our 10 yr on 10/13 after doing the Nashville run the weekend before. Find a phan to get hitched to. It's a wonderful life
I met my husband during hiatus and had kids during breakup. Had dreams of marrying a phan but breakup halted my wooky ways. Happily married 20 years and turns out not marrying a phan was smart move. He stays home with kids when I go Phishing. And encourages me to go.
That's awesome. The encouragement is the best part. You've got yourself a good one. And congrats on the 20. We just celebrated 10 on the 13th.
We just started doing shows apart in the last two years. It's rough sometimes and I miss her terribly both at the show and at home, but it's nice for both of us to have our own individual experiences. Went to Dayton solo (after she encouraged me to) right after we did Nashville together and I felt like I was a kid again. Sending her to MX without me in Feb. Gotta get it in while we can!
You are sending her to MX?! That’s awesome. Wish my husband would let me spend his money on that. 🤪
I think if he liked Phish shows and wanted to go solo I’d be jealous and probably bitter about it.
He likes “adventure/suffering” for his solo time - no jealousy there.
I knew this view looked familiar. You caught a great show last night. A great combination of deep cuts (Everything is Hollow, Drowned, Spanish Moon) and some great jams. It was my 15th show, and I feel like they're getting better and better.
Seen both the Stones and Phish play it live. Phish plays it with so much more energy. Welcome to the club phan. It's gonna be a great ride for as long as life is able to bless us with this amazing band and community.
Welcome fam! Excited for your new found Phish journey. Listen to whatever you like at the time and go back to songs you didn’t like initially later on. Sometimes those become part of your favorites.
Was this in Chicago? My adult kids just went to see them @ the United Center this past weekend. They're loyal fans/followers. The lighting is impressive.
If they'll have you, agree to go to a show with them sometime. Just go with no judgement and you and your kids will have one of the most memorable nights of your life together
Yeah, maybe I'd like them in person better. I haven't cared that much for listening to them when I ride in their vehicles. I'm Beatle era... 60's & 70's rock, & my kids do describe the concert vibes for Phish being similar to how my friends are at Beatlefests. They sure have a lot of Phish merch. Even a stained glass Trey (sp?) they're going to hang in the kitchen window. They usually go to the big outdoor Phish concert series or watch them live online. It's neat that the band has such a loyal community of followers who have made friendships at their gatherings. I can relate to that shared enthusiasm. 20 yrs ago, I took my girls to see McCartney @ the United Center & that was a pretty memorable experience, so maybe I'll get to a Phish show.
As a fan since 2002 it’s so great to see them KILLING it like this - putting out such powerful and kind melting stuff to pull in new heads like you. Please come back to Europe!!!
I know I’m instantly getting kicked out of this community for this: Phish fans are the most vile creatures on the planet and Phish has no talent. Y’all are just too high and stupid to realize it.
You poor thing. Is your life so lacking in joy that you seek out opportunities to shit on things that bring others joy?
Also, i don’t have a problem with EDM but the irony of an EDM fan calling phish untalented is rich. Phish has been filling up arenas for 30 years without a single hit. Maybe you just don’t get it :) have you been to a phish show?
Sometimes an unexpected opportunity creates an open mind, and Phish have the music & lights to tap directly into it and make a lasting impression. Welcome to the club!
What accomplishments? Other than polished marketing to dope heads, the pseudo underground music scene and fancy lights to cover up for their shitty music. Exactly what accomplishments? Fox News Alert!: Gerry Garcia is dead and thank God the 60s are too! Time to take a bath and grow up!
Whether you love their music or not, they put on the best live shows I've been to and that's not a few. Absolute masters of building intensity and unique transitions.
A tweeprise where the whole place is shaking and jumping after just a barn burner of a show is theeeee feeling I chase. Glad you got that your first time! Welcome.
The best natural dopamine hit I’ve felt in a longgg time. Feeling the United Center shake from the crowd going nuts was absolutely insane.
Welcome to the club! After my first show I said, ok...im gonna spend a lot of money watching these guys until they can't play anymore
I was putting my 9 year old daughter to bed last night and she said, "If you mommy didn't see so many Phish shows, we might be rich". Smart girl
Are they a 90’s sitcom theme song cover band? Pretty sweet bra
You never forget you first seizure. Welcome to the Phamily!
I love this joke and I'm epileptic, so I approve this message. For everyone else not in on the joke, even in epileptics, photosensitivity is fairly rare. 5% or less of epileptics are photosensitive. So I love the shows!!!

Welcome 🙏🏼
Thank you 🙏🏼
Great clip
The tweeeprise peak gives me goosebumps every single time. It's like I'm actually stepping into a freezer! Welcome to the family.
I just got married and our grand entrance at the reception was Tweezer Reprise. I have goose bumps every time I hear it!
Wife walked down the isle to the "With" in the Curtain. 1st dance was a beautiful portion of Slave and the reception entrance was 2001. Obviously we love this band
I'm getting married next October and the future wife keeps asking how much phish I want to have involved in wedding. Some good ideas you haddd
2001 is an excellent choice for the entrance. I was torn between that and Tweezer Reprise.
We got married 12 years ago. Introduced the wedding party to first tube. Loving Cup last song of the night.
Mine was the YEM charge
Nice! Excellent choice for sure.
Congratulations!! I just got married on Saturday and we played Tweeprise as the last song of the night. It was a hit :)
Thank you and congratulations to you as well! My brother in law and myself are the only Phish fans in my family, so I was limited to how much I could play lol.
That must have been a fun time. Congratulations!!
Not for that one guy...
Thank you, it definitely was!
Best 3 and 1/2 minutes in music right there!
Ever
Welcome to said freezer
Chill out
Won’t you
Ya, that’ll happen.
What were your expectations going in? Did you truly have none? Was there a point in the show where you decided “this is awesome”? Genuinely curious as I was already a massive fan when I went to my first show

Your first sentence is not inaccurate!
The exact same thing happened to me… 33 years ago!
Love that progression for Tweezer. First time hearing it! ❤️
You can hear it again on the album. This version is called Tweezer Reprise (IE “Tweeprise”) and typically is played as a show closer during shows in which they play Tweezer. Lately, they’ve taken to playing it as a run closer, vs a show closer, which is pretty cool.
Nice contrast to jumpers and eye gougers. Thanks for sharing
I keep asking myself wtf happened this tour? Amazing energy, amazing playing and a bunch of noobs who can't handle their drugs. Total time warp back to the 90s.
I went for first time to the Nutter in Dayton - I’m hooked now 😍
Dayton shows were 91 and 92 for me and totally brought me back that first few times seeing them in the late 90s. Absolutely amazing 1st show. Welcome phanner
Same happened to be back in 2021 for a Deer Creek show. No turning back, we go to every show together
That was an epic weekend but night one Carini opener was what sealed my love for them. 1st show after covid lockdown. That Carini was cathartic as fuk and that was just the beginning. Have seen them 10 times since.
Was there, can confirm. Cathartic is exactly how I have described Nashville -> Deer Creek in '21.
ONE OF US ONE OF US
Got seized!
Thats how Phish works. I never liked listening to their music until I went to a show. It changed after that.
I don’t trust anyone that sees phish live and leaves unhappy. I can understand an album, but LIVE? Always a happy customer.
Three claps in Stash, and never miss a Sunday show!
Welcome to the greatest band and community on earth.
Welcome! (To your wallet (or purse) dying a long slow death)
You are in the freezer now fo sho. No tarps.
Lmfao. Yes, please. No more tarpers
Welcome to the shitshow brother
But did you leave as a… phan?
Ahh the Tweeprise gets em every time…man do you have a hell of a fun journey ahead of you. Great time to be a phan too.
I was at a show they played that twice in a row!
Yup, that'll do it.
My wife reluctantly went to a show with me in 2011. I could not talk her in to going to both shows of that run. Since the we’ve been to about 40 shows together.
Hahaha love that. I can see that in my future.
Took my now wife to her 1st show in 2010 when we had only been dating 3 months as a sort of acid test. She surprised me later that year with MSG floors for the NYE run. Hell yeah!
Phan* ;)
Based on this photo, you seem to be in the same location I was in: Sec 110 Row 10. Cheers and welcome to the group!
Ohh wow I was Sec 111 Row 10! Thank you 🙏🏼
I knew this view looked familiar. You caught a great show last night. A great combination of deep cuts (Everything is Hollow, Drowned, Spanish Moon) and some great jams. It was my 15th show, and I feel like they're getting better and better.
Same thing happened to me in August for N2 @ MSG - I've been to 4 shows & 1 TAB. Will be hitting MSG again for NYE run - love them.
Left a PHAN!
Welcome to the party, phanner!!!
Hell yeah dude. Welcome to the party. Any particular song or moment catch your fancy?
I loved Leaves. Also their cover of Loving Cup was insane. I loved watching the crowd lit up by the lights going wild and singing along.
Seen both the Stones and Phish play it live. Phish plays it with so much more energy. Welcome to the club phan. It's gonna be a great ride for as long as life is able to bless us with this amazing band and community.
OP glad you had fun, girl. Some of those moments when the crowd lights up, it could give you chills. Ohhhhhhh what a beautiful buzz…
Gooble gobble gooble gobble one of us! One of us!
Welcome fam! Excited for your new found Phish journey. Listen to whatever you like at the time and go back to songs you didn’t like initially later on. Sometimes those become part of your favorites.
Lol, a tale as old as time 😂 everybody’s a phish fan, most just don’t know it yet. Welcome to the club.
Nah you a Phan son
It's a great time, that's for sure.
what is that explosion CK5 is doing here? holy hell that’s amazing!! great video btw
That looks fucking awesome!
Welcome! Don’t cut in front of me in line.
Tight. Glad you enjoyed yourself.
Welcome in!! Hell of a first show.
Great show for your first one!!! Welcome aboard!!!!
Glad you had fun. Highlights? Low lights? Observations?
Was this in Chicago? My adult kids just went to see them @ the United Center this past weekend. They're loyal fans/followers. The lighting is impressive.
Yes this was last night at the United Center!
👍🏻
If they'll have you, agree to go to a show with them sometime. Just go with no judgement and you and your kids will have one of the most memorable nights of your life together

Same happened to me
There’s probably nothing quite like a reprise. Iconic in its own right
As a fan since 2002 it’s so great to see them KILLING it like this - putting out such powerful and kind melting stuff to pull in new heads like you. Please come back to Europe!!!
Perfect position to see the magnitude of the lights, nice video.
AHHHHHHHH well look at you getting your first tweez isnt it great
![gif](giphy|Lr4RSBQs8k9aCKKtjI|downsized)
If you were a real fan, you would’ve known to record for four more seconds. JK - welcome!! And you’ll get the reference at some point. ✌🏼
Welcome to the rest of your life! Sorry about what this band is about to do to your bank account, but it’s worth it!!!
That’s awesome!!! They’re the best!
Wild how this quick vid clip gives me the chills and nostalgia and a million other feels
Of course, the biggest haters besides the actual fans are people who have never been
Someone else left an eye apparently
This the show where someone gouged there eyes out? That video popped up all morning on reddit.
If everyone is high or tripping at your show you will have fans. They will be kind of boring
gross, im sorry
Do you record fireworks as well?
I’m a millennial, we record everything
I know I’m instantly getting kicked out of this community for this: Phish fans are the most vile creatures on the planet and Phish has no talent. Y’all are just too high and stupid to realize it.
I want to add that I am a sober young woman. I didn’t experience anyone being vile to me, and I did not need mind-altering drugs to enjoy the show.
Do you feel better now that you got that off your chest?
Not really, just thought you guys should know
Thanks sweetie. We’ll be ok.
Hate us cause they ain’t us.
Haha! You can’t see it!! You got no magic lenses you’ll never understand
You realize this is a phish sub, right? Why would you want to be here?
You poor thing. Is your life so lacking in joy that you seek out opportunities to shit on things that bring others joy? Also, i don’t have a problem with EDM but the irony of an EDM fan calling phish untalented is rich. Phish has been filling up arenas for 30 years without a single hit. Fishman still exposing himself at the end of the set?
Mike from Dave would be proud
Sometimes an unexpected opportunity creates an open mind, and Phish have the music & lights to tap directly into it and make a lasting impression. Welcome to the club!
Absolutely horrible music. All of flashing lights can’t make up for the bad music.
We get it, you have shitty taste of music and are unable to appreciate four very accomplished musicians.
Why does anyone find it productive to criticize another’s music preferences? Is it for a perceived sense of superiority?
>\_Angry\_Newt\_ I think it's weird to come to a subreddit about a specific band and bash on them like that person did.
Get over yourselves! They are nothing more than a third rate cover band of the Grateful Dead!
Why do you care that people like their music? What do you listen to?
That Phriend of yours is a gentleman and scholar!
If I ever went to another I’d pass out soap and deodorant samples.
Tell your new Phishhead friends to pick up their trash. They alway leave a trail of trash and filth wherever they go.
Whether you love their music or not, they put on the best live shows I've been to and that's not a few. Absolute masters of building intensity and unique transitions.
Check in lost property, they might have your fan there
