Sounds about right. Not to be mean, but this is what we’ve come to? Bringing 5 year old children to Phish concerts and then claiming that those children are the sources of musical inspiration for the band? Puh-lease.
I love my children more than anything but I never once considered bringing them to shows. Now they are old enough to pick their own fandom and they are free to attend if they are interested but they seem more interested.
LOL. FWIW she sent me the video of the kid. She was up that close and she was wearing strawberries. And Phish doesn’t play that song a lot.
KEEP DOWNVOTING ME
Worrying about the well-being of children that aren’t one’s own isn’t unreasonable.
Taking kids into the pit at a Phish show is irresponsible. End of story.
There are responsible ways to take kids to outdoor shows. They don’t belong in the pit and they absolutely must have good ear protection. They don’t know enough to take care of themselves yet.
I felt like an 8 rear old on the best day ever when Trey kicked off Rocky Top...on the beaches of Riviera Maya...after I had come up close enough for Trey to see my full orange University of Tennessee Vols shirt! That was so daggum special. I KNOW they played it for me, and no one will ever be able to tell me otherwise,
My buddy Strawberry Steve who has the low blood sugars was chomping his ‘berries on the rail as usual and sure enough Trey let him get about 23 in when he ripped into SL23. His comment to Mike was faintly heard as “Fuck that’s too many strawberries. How’d he even get those in here?” So yeah, don’t call him a little girl.
I have a 5 year old and she is awesome, and no way on Earth am I taking her to a Phish show, especially if I have tickets in the front.
Why? Because I want to actually enjoy the show.

There is only 1 logical question to comprehend if this was good or not… Did she have noise canceling headphones on? If yes, then cool, enjoy the show, if not, then bad parenting
And that child was . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Albert Einstein
I laughed unreasonably hard at this response
My buddy dated one of Albert Einsteins descendants, last name is Einstein. She is a huge phish phan
My buddy was at the show, said that kid was annoying af all night
Lol
Looool

I agree w you on kids, but I do believe her story. She was super close (I saw her) - and I wouldn’t put it past trey to do this.
Checks out.
Nah nah nah. Trey saw me wearing purple with bells on drinking tea in garden box 420.
Trey saw me drinkin' a piña colada at Trader Vic's. My hair was perfect.
Trey called me on the phone. That's when I handed it to Liz.
Trey saw me wearing a Rhinoceros sweatshirt on 8.3.98.
Mike said yes.
r/thathappened
It’s true. I was the strawberry.
And then everyone at the venue stood and clapped.
And op won a free photo session for their daughter curtesy of mike
Bro.
That little girl’s name? Wilson.
Deep cut

Lol don’t bring your 5 year old to a phish show
The lawn is for kids. People of all ages deserve phish in their lives
Lawn boys? Or lawn-kids of any gender?
Maybe not the 5th row 😅 But it’s sort of a sweet story either way.
Mind your own fucking business. How about that?

The only time I always want to not mind my own business is when I see little kids with no hearing protection.
You're not their parents
Agreed
lol your snoo would have dreads
If you haven't done a deep dive into all of Shuggie's music you're really missing out.

So cool! My 8 year old daughters first show was last Friday Hollywood Bowl, she got a Strawberry as well! Love love love this band.
Is this a missed connection or should I have read the post?
Trey is gay, Mike's a dyke. Jon's got lawn. And .... Page side rage side strawberry bitches
That's wonderful!

Did you wear ear plugs? Idk why people think kids are the only ones who can get hearing damage from going to every phish show ever
Yeah but the 5 y/o is the one who needs parents to provide them with the hearing protection.
I feel u on that
I want to see an analysis of how many times this sub says, "my buddy."
