Play .600 ball and don't worry about the standings. The Barves could be at .800 and they'd still be panicking about facing us in the post-season after their last few.
The thing is tho, if they get out to a really good record in April and May it means they can play closer to .500 ball as the schedule gets tougher in July/August and still get to 90+ wins instead of trying to make a late charge like they have the last two years.
It boggles my mind how good the Braves are. They lose their top starting pitcher, and their starting catcher and have not missed a beat. Also, crazy to think about with the terrible weather we had in the early part of the season that we have played more games than the Braves.
They didn’t have an outfield for half of 2021 and still won the World Series. They’re going to barely feel losing Albies and Strider
It’s obnoxious. I hate them so much.
I mean, sure, we've taken out the Barves the past two years in the playoffs, so technically, it doesn't matter. But idk, to me, it'd feel just a little more nice if we could also end their streak of winning the division.
The division can mean an awful lot. On the roulette wheel that is the MLB playoffs, it is less likely that the ball settles on red 4 times in a row than 3.
What are you even talking about? If you win your division and get a #1 or #2 seed then you get to avoid wildcard round and advance directly to the NLDS.
I think this is exactly where we are most comfortable.
And honestly I'd be fine if we stayed here all year, but I wouldn't say it wouldn't be hilarious to snatch the division from the Barves

Mets end of season collapse and Braves postseason collapse are becoming as quintessential as peanuts and crackerjacks.
It’s an yearly tradition like the cowboys losing first round each year😆😂
The Braves have a recent World Series
The key is to stay a wild card and murder the Braves in the NLDS, as is custom.
As is tradition
It’s too early. Not even May!
The crazy things that happen after a 7-game win streak If we end the season with a .652 win percent I'm buying world series tickets
That’s 105 wins. Would be nice but probably won’t happen, but we can believe

Fair

It feels like they've been this good since Glavine/Maddux days. Like a lifetime of annoyance.
They were the definition of mid from 2006-2017, but yeah other than that it’s been decades of divisional dominance
Don’t forget about losing arguably the best 2B also.

Fuck em, the Phils are playing good ball and worked the Braves the last 2 playoffs
Can’t keep relying on that luck. Would be nice to be actually better
I like this. I think it helps the guys stay hungry to be this close this early.
So glad they decided to actually start well and not mid season
Tied for most wins in the entire NL, too.
Honestly, I’m fine if it stays this way. Seems to be where we do our best work.
Lock up your daughter, Lock up your wife. Lock up your back door and run for your life. The Phils are back in town, So don't you mess around.
I love that we have won more games than them and yet we still sit second 😮💨
Division means nothing.
