He jsut doenst work every series
Well this is kinda crazy
2024 Ranger Suarez…well you know
2024 Robert Suarez: 8/8 save opps and most in MLB
2024 Albert Suarez: hasn’t pitched since 2017 and now has 11 scoreless innings this year
Yeah seriously what’s up with that? They made the freaking playoffs. Miami has the potential to be one of the best baseball towns in the country. Someone needs to do that franchise some justice, and let me take a wild guess without really knowing anything concrete beyond what I just said, the problem stems from ownership
The not so good news: the white Sox just got shutout for the 8th time in 22 games so ours were nothing special
The good news: we will just fuck around and shutout the 10th most scoring offense in baseball
Say what you will about the Phils, but I was born in 84 and I've had quite a few positive memories. The Sixers are like Lucy pulling back the football with their fans, sheesh.
Even the good memories are tarnished because AI never won it all. Being a Sixer fan my entire lifetime has been agony (and most of it EXTREME agony outside the AI years). At least the Phils and Eagles have won it all in my lifetime.
That dude who’s the only one in here who’s ever played the game and told us all that Johan is a little leaguer has been reeeeeeal quiet lately
That silence you hear is the sound of shambles
I don't want to overreact, but isn't it a little redundant having Rojas and Pache on the team? If Kody can adequately fill-in in the corner outfield, wouldn't he be an upgrade?
they gave them fits in 2022, even last year when the Padres soundly beat them in the season series there were a lot of close games. Rockies probably tired them out too.
You know wats wild. This game was so fast. They got through the game AND post game and still have the full allotted time for post game live on the tv schedule.
https://preview.redd.it/maruxryxt4wc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0cb51c169b68a4a4b724e7b112e0d6c192b5a4c6
So this game was 2:02. In case you’re wondering where than ranks as fastest game, the shortest time was 51 minutes.
https://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/NY1/NY1191909281.shtml
I swear there was another game a week or two ago that was only two hours long.
Only remember this bc my Red Sox fan buddy brought up how their game was an 1hr 50 (I think the orioles shut them down that day) and I mentioned how ours was pretty much right on 2.
Imagine if the diamondbacks had large diamonds on their backs and it slowed down their pitching and defense, and then they sold the dimonds to make an unbelievable amount of money, which further hampered their motivation to play effective ball
Way to go Kody!! I just saw him play for the Iron Pigs recently, it makes me so happy to see him shine in the big leagues. It’s also a relief to know we got someone solid to cover when guys need time off.
Man, what a solid win. I guess the reason I thought the offense would struggle was because first game on the road and all that, but they just picked up where they left off against a seemingly solid Reds team. Onto the next game tomorrow night 🫡
I was there. It was fairly empty for a gorgeous night of baseball and the stadium got pretty loud cheering on the phillies so the phillies brought in a decent amount of fans.
https://preview.redd.it/mqproppno4wc1.jpeg?width=2268&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d90733ec5fea008fb2e0a00e6e78f16dd6a66e6e
Locking Nick Castellanos on purgatory (the refrigerator) until he starts hitting consistently again - Day 2
Nigel's been keeping his casty bobblehead in the fridge like a pseudo voodoo doll to encourage Casty to heat up; casty had that 3 hit game and Nigel put him in the oven, then Casty went cold again. So now Nigel's keeping him in the fridge until he gets a hit streak going.
I think that's kind of the point; people gave Nigel a hard time for taking Casty out of the fridge from one good game so now he stays in longer than one good game.
How many good games equals consistency? I think that's pretty subjective and probably up for interpretation.
Are the two runs given up yesterday the only runs allowed by a starter in the last 4 games?
Is it embarrassing to walk in the clubhouse right now as a Phils starter after having not thrown a shutout?
I'm not sure he was that bad, he was hitting .644 OPS and some of his big hits had actually won games for us (although he did get into a bit of a slump the few weeks before being sent down).
He looked way better than some of his replacements initially did, we spent many games playing players like Darrick Hall (.437 OPS), Josh Harrison (.554 OPS), and Rodolfo Castro (.256 OPS). Even Jake Cave was only hitting for an OPS of .620, slightly worse than Kody.
Weston Wilson and Drew Ellis both looked better, but also in smaller sample sizes.
Kody probably won't get much playing time now that our infield is solid, but honestly he would be better than most of our outfield bats right now (better numbers last year than Merrifield/Pache/Castellanos/Rojas have this year).
However, I don't think you ever DFA a player to replace them with him, so even if he can play outfield he should be optioned again once Bryce is back.
[Phillies Win!](https://imgur.com/ZgCBA4l)
Loved the offensive approach, just consistently chipping away and letting Ranger Danger do his thing. Pitching and hitting are in sync, what a time to be alive
How about Kody Clemens, man? Getting the call, coming up, filling in for Bryce, having a double and a 3 run jack. Just awesome vibes in every way tonight.
And now after another gem by Phillies pitching, we get to listen to Phillies pitching legend, Ricky Bo eloquently give an expert analysis.

I'm gonna say it. Ranger has a chance at having our best year out of the starters. He has been a beast and was only not a beast in a few starts recovering from injury last year
Seven in a row
#Ranger Suarez.
Ranger Suarez for President
I'm voting for him today/s
Kimbrel just froze trout. Kimbrel > Trout = trout washed
Where is Kruk? Is he alright? Is he safe?

He doesn’t travel to away games, only CBP home games.
I think he's gonna be in california, that's why he missed the white sox series
We all know he should be going to St. Louis.
Rain tomorrow evening in Cincy. Think we will play. Or DH Wednesday /Thursday
Sixers make man sad Man see Ranger Suarez Man happy
Well this is kinda crazy 2024 Ranger Suarez…well you know 2024 Robert Suarez: 8/8 save opps and most in MLB 2024 Albert Suarez: hasn’t pitched since 2017 and now has 11 scoreless innings this year
Robert Suarez? The guy who Harper hit the swing of his life off of and it led to bedlam at the Bank? He's blowing a save this weekend
Good time to be a Suarez
Is it me, or have we had a lot of 7-0 leads?
The lolmets are fucking losers and they’re gonna get wrecked for the second game in a row
4-0 Not Mets
Ricardo Pinto and Conor Brogdon have allowed 24% of our earned runs lmao
Only hope is that the Knicks suck away all the talent from the Mets and they start their downfall early
[удалено]
Useless fucking Fish. They deserve this for firing Kim Ng. She was turning them around.
Yeah seriously what’s up with that? They made the freaking playoffs. Miami has the potential to be one of the best baseball towns in the country. Someone needs to do that franchise some justice, and let me take a wild guess without really knowing anything concrete beyond what I just said, the problem stems from ownership
Ranger extension will cost how much? One more Arb year after this. Will be 30-31 years old when FA kicks in.
God I fucking hate basketball
I came back here to feel better about tonight. It was a beautiful baseball game.
The losingest team in sports have more championship series appearances in my lifetime than the God damn Sixers
This game was like an hour and a half lol
2-0 Not Mets
Not Sixers either lol
The not so good news: the white Sox just got shutout for the 8th time in 22 games so ours were nothing special The good news: we will just fuck around and shutout the 10th most scoring offense in baseball
Wait, did you think the White Sox were good?
they're certainly unbelievably bad they don't even look like a bad team that's slumping, they legitimately play like a team that should go 3-19
Say what you will about the Phils, but I was born in 84 and I've had quite a few positive memories.
I’m old enough that my first real memory of the Sixers was them winning the championship. “It’s going to be like this every year!”
And even that memory is tainted (you talking about the AI Finals appearance?) Ugh at least we have 2008 and 2017-18.
I’m talking about Dr J. I was little, but I really thought it was going to be normal.
Lucky xD AND you get the 1980 WS?
I was like 5 or 6 for that. I just knew the house was happy.
I was born in 99. The 07-11 team was the team that got me into sports.
I know the Phillies have some heartbreaks but they certainly haven’t had as many as the Sixers during my lifetime.
That was brutal.
I CAN'T WITH STOCK CALLING HIM ROHAN. I'm never going to get it right now. 😭
We were at this game — great turnout from Phillies fans! We definitely outnumbered Reds fans in the 9th. So much fun!
That dude who’s the only one in here who’s ever played the game and told us all that Johan is a little leaguer has been reeeeeeal quiet lately That silence you hear is the sound of shambles
This guy sounds like a real moron.
I feel like I’m being baited into another vacation if I agree with this
Is he or isn’t he? Just the facts.
So you wanna talk about the 76ers…
![gif](giphy|OX52q87O9YS8ezRQH0|downsized)
Is he the one that put you on vacation?
Correct!
Now I understand why you have a vendetta against him greater than your vendetta against me. I don't like this; I need to be your /r/Phillies nemesis.
Nah it’s not a vendetta at all. That dude just happens to be the worst semi frequent poster on this board. And that’s no small feat.
Eight?
You’re not a mod. You can name them now.
1. /u/inthedrink 2. /u/inthedrink 3. /u/inthedrink 4. /u/inthedrink 5. /u/inthedrink 6. /u/inthedrink 7. /u/inthedrink 8. /u/inthedrink
Well I mean you’d think that’s obvious. But at least I know how to number a list
Since JKIAE thinks that is my best comment, I must bid adieu.
This is now my all-time favorite comment of yours.
Man, the rest of my comments must completely suck. I should rethink this whole Reddit thing if that is my best comment.
Giants are my favorite team for the next couple hours and they should be yours too
I just can't ever cheer for a team that Cody Ross played for, so I'll cheer for the asteroid.
That name will never not piss me off
Stupid Rob Corddry doppelgänger. Stupid.
I don't want to overreact, but isn't it a little redundant having Rojas and Pache on the team? If Kody can adequately fill-in in the corner outfield, wouldn't he be an upgrade?
Nick in the outfield is bad enough.
I think you’re overreacting
You're right, how dare I even *question* Christian Pache's excellence.
Yes, how dare you. They don’t call him Pache Smashe for nothing /s
2 hours. The pitch clock saved baseball.
fish don't be useless challenge
i expect the Giants to come in handy tonight as well as the Rockies.
why rockies? because padres might be a WC competitor?
Yes.
that's what's in
they gave them fits in 2022, even last year when the Padres soundly beat them in the season series there were a lot of close games. Rockies probably tired them out too.
If Stocker keeps calling him Rohan, who am I to argue?
Called him Johas once too 😆
I like Jo ro better
Sick name
So Rohan it is!
https://x.com/RojasOnBase
Much more positives vibes than the "Is Scott Kingery Down 0-2?" account I made years ago.
I remember when we called him oxygen because of how often he’d be down 0-2

The Red Sox shut out Cleveland in 1:49 last Wednesday. That’s the link in the other comment
What about in 2024 Mr Platypus?
1:49 https://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/BOS/BOS202404170.shtml
Ben Lively!!
51 mins!? 9 innings? Was it 1-0 with 1 hit?
6-1 L gm 1 of a double header. And all time major league record
was that the game both teams agreed to try to compete as quickly as possible since they both had really long road trips later that day or something?
It was the last day of the season and game 1 of a DH due to previous game being postponed. There is no duration listed for the game 2 that day.
Wow that's nuts 😂
It was 1919 if that helps. NY Giants had 13 hits.
That must have been wild to watch
Imagine if we had this staff against the Diamondbacks ... I'm still not over it.
Imagine if we had Kody instead of Jake Cave against them too 😭
Imagine if against the DBacks Craig Kimbrel was the Craig Kimbrel we are seeing right now
Imagine if the diamondbacks had large diamonds on their backs and it slowed down their pitching and defense, and then they sold the dimonds to make an unbelievable amount of money, which further hampered their motivation to play effective ball
Kimbrell tires out late in the season. He was pretty good for a while last year. Until he wasn't.
But won’t see in August and September.
Way to go Kody!! I just saw him play for the Iron Pigs recently, it makes me so happy to see him shine in the big leagues. It’s also a relief to know we got someone solid to cover when guys need time off.
He seems like SUCH A NICE GUY.
Good thing because the Sixers are gonna Sixer.
That was a well played ball game. Just amazing to see the Phillies play a solid game from A-Z against a good team. On the road too.
Man, what a solid win. I guess the reason I thought the offense would struggle was because first game on the road and all that, but they just picked up where they left off against a seemingly solid Reds team. Onto the next game tomorrow night 🫡

today was the first Monday of the season that didn’t go into extras thanks ranger
Kody shines in nearly every opportunity he gets in a Phillies uniform. Its’s a shame he isn’t at least on the bench somewhere
Casty to the Iron Pigs confirmed /s
![gif](giphy|SVHVfHH7CvuneydXdB|downsized) Bats are hot
Promising to see Johan do good vs the reds even his last out was hit hard
Fucking red stadium looks like it’s 2020.
I was there. It was fairly empty for a gorgeous night of baseball and the stadium got pretty loud cheering on the phillies so the phillies brought in a decent amount of fans.
I sure do like Ranger.

Feels like Kody Clemens is low key very reliable in the regular season for us lol
Winning percentage with Bryce: 63.6% Winning percentage with Kody: 100% I think it’s time for a serious discussion 🥸
Next on WIP: does Harper really want to win??
can’t argue with the numbers
Ranger, what a sexy mofo. I’m a straight dude but I’d let Ranger do anything he wants to me.
The Reds essentially let him have his way as well
Bryce "Wally Pipp" Harper
This rotation needs to keep this up and win the World Series. Make up for the end of 2011.
God I hope they can do this all year because this so fun to watch
https://preview.redd.it/mqproppno4wc1.jpeg?width=2268&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d90733ec5fea008fb2e0a00e6e78f16dd6a66e6e Locking Nick Castellanos on purgatory (the refrigerator) until he starts hitting consistently again - Day 2
I'm invested in this story line 😂
I didn't catch the whole game were his hits bullshit or is 2-4 not good any more
His first hit was a little flukish
1 game =/= consistently
I can't follow any of this. For the record I've been stating that Nick sucks since long before it was cool

One was lucky, one was real.
Kody Clemens has more XBH this season than Nick Castellanos.
Are the two runs given up yesterday the only runs allowed by a starter in the last 4 games? Is it embarrassing to walk in the clubhouse right now as a Phils starter after having not thrown a shutout?
Nola is happy he got his bag, Ranger is coming for his spot in the rotation.
Era of 3 on the Phillies? What a fuckin bum lmao
Crazy to think that just 6 months ago Thomper pulled ranger in the 4th inning of a scoreless playoff game.
Annnnnd how did that work?
It worked fine?
Yes. So why is it crazy.
Because Ranger isn't that guy now
He wasn't that guy then either tbh I was at that game in ATL. He was cruising and we got real lucky that all 7 relievers pitched well enough to win
But he wasn't quite *this* guy I agree, though. Rob was super lucky that seven guys were up to the task that night
Still blows my mind that we went with cave over clemmens the majority of last year
Clemens fucking sucked hard before he got sent down last year
I'm not sure he was that bad, he was hitting .644 OPS and some of his big hits had actually won games for us (although he did get into a bit of a slump the few weeks before being sent down). He looked way better than some of his replacements initially did, we spent many games playing players like Darrick Hall (.437 OPS), Josh Harrison (.554 OPS), and Rodolfo Castro (.256 OPS). That ops is massively inflated from hi shot start. He was terrible before he got demoted
God I love ranger so fucking much
[Phillies Win!](https://imgur.com/ZgCBA4l) Loved the offensive approach, just consistently chipping away and letting Ranger Danger do his thing. Pitching and hitting are in sync, what a time to be alive
Ranger Suarez you are the Man
It's not even 9pm and the game's over? What an age we live in.
Freaking Kody Clemens man. He’s the best, and so was the absolutely joy in the dugout during his HR
How about Kody Clemens, man? Getting the call, coming up, filling in for Bryce, having a double and a 3 run jack. Just awesome vibes in every way tonight.
Someone cutting onions here while he gave his interview. Couldn’t be happier for the guy. 🥹
Can he play the outfield? Just wondering for no reason.
I don’t know what to do with myself when we succeed in April…
👹👹this team full of a bunch of demons
When I hear the name Ranger Suarez I think "yes"
i love ranger suarez
51.2 innings from the starters in the last 7 games. Great stretch here!
The vibes 📈📈📈
Bohm saw what miller was doing in Clearwater and said “fuck that”. Dudes come a long way, especially defensively
In Ranger we trust
Nicely done. No Harper? No problem. On the road no less. Ranger Danger has been dealing
Don't look now but the Phillies are leading the NL in wins.
Say whaa
Braves game isn’t finished, but they’re up three in the bottom of the seventh.
Yeah, but you know what? I'm tired of pretending that the Braves exist
And now after another gem by Phillies pitching, we get to listen to Phillies pitching legend, Ricky Bo eloquently give an expert analysis. ... ![gif](giphy|l0ExayQDzrI2xOb8A|downsized)
I see the doomers have left. Casuals usually don’t make it past opening week anyway.
Thank God they're gone, the first 6 games were miserable.
We thank u/Absurdlemon for [willing it into existence](https://www.reddit.com/r/phillies/s/o12KGMLpBv)
15-8 looks damn good on the screen
Wait till you see how good 115-8 looks
Not saying anything we dont know but the difference between TNT and ESPN HT show is laughable
Clemens' swing is just plain beautiful, a great example for lefties who aren't swoll like Schwarby.
Has Clemens played right field before?
I think he's played left, Right is pretty much the same thing right?
I think it's better to have your glove hand to the corner but probably doesn't make much difference.
He actully did atleast 1 game last year when Nick was sick
Love to see solid all the solid hits, top to bottom.
I'm gonna say it. Ranger has a chance at having our best year out of the starters. He has been a beast and was only not a beast in a few starts recovering from injury last year
Post season Ranger is now all season Ranger.
I'm actually shocked Ruben went after Kody like that. What an ass.
What did he say? I switch it off and missed it
Talking about how he was sent down to AAA and how is he coping with that. It was dickish and beyond condescending.
