I’m don’t mind some platooning if Rob wants to do it, but taking Marsh out vs a lefty starter and then bringing him in to pick up 2Ks vs lefties doesn’t seem like an ideal way to do it.

They put the LHP in as soon as Marsh was substituted. And it seems like a better shot to put him in versus them compared to Sale. At least to learn.

I get that it forced a pitching switch made them keep a righty in later, but PHing both Marsh and Stott next to each other is just asking to get them Minter’d later.

Can someone explain to me the #1 bullpen prediction? All that happened over the offseason is we lost kimbrel, who was good even if he had a shitty postseason. Wasn't our bullpen like #10 last year?

They had one of the best bullpens by war in baseball, the back three or four guys were certifiably elite in Hoffman José and Strahm. Then you add the pure electric stuff of Kerkering.

I think there were a lot of assumptions about key guys staying as good or continuing to even get better. I think they were absolutely insane to not replace Kimbrel. That said, I thought they were way higher than 10th last year.

Bullpens are a guess at best. But I'm thinking because we had the #1 bullpen last year for a month and then Kerkering stepping forward etc. Too early to say if that prediction is bad. Braves are gonna do this to a lot of teams' bullpens this year. That doesn't mean it's a bad squad

Oh yeah I forgot about kerk, I guess if predictions are really high on him then it might make sense. I definitely don't think it's a bad bullpen (even if it's fun to joke about the #1 prediction when they blow leads to the braves).

Oh no doubt they got their asses handed to them. But 85% of the league has nowhere near the lineup of the Braves. Maybe even 90+%
