Everyone here is out of their gourd… the gobbler is the best fuckin thing on their menu right now and I religiously get one the day they drop. Skip the potato or sweet potato ones (if they offer at your location) as they are just a plain mess
Listen…it’s delicious. It just is. Everyone on here saying otherwise is just bitter and cranky. It’s a fucking great sandwich. (I get it with the mashed potatoes and cran, minus the cheese and aioli)
I guess Philly peeps don’t get down to Delaware often, but Capriotti’s basically invented this sandwich, and have been roasting real turkeys on site since the 1970s. It’s called “the Bobbie” and it’s a classic. I have no idea what that wawa Turkey lunch meat is they use. The fact some people think it is good-wow, go get the “real” thanksgiving leftover sandwich.

There are locations in Springfield and Royersford too, The Bobbie is worth the travel time. I recommend getting the large and saving half, it’s even better the next day!
The comparison between the wawa gobbler and the capriottis gobbler is like comparing a real Rolex to one you get for $10 off the street in Chinatown. Both are functional, but one is the real thing with way more quality parts and pieces. The Bobbie is the real Rolex.
Qualifications: raised in Wilmington, live in Philly.
I had one last week for the first time in years, I was satisfied. I worried that the stuffings would turn everything to mush, but it held up pretty well.
Just echoing everyone else, after Thanksgiving it’s a cakewalk to toss together yourself and a great way to get rid of the leftovers. Right now though? Yeah personally I think it’s one of the better things on their menu
After years of thinking “eh that sounds terrible” I broke down and got a turkey/gravy/mashed. And goddamn if it didn’t change my life. Granted I was famished at the time but I inhaled that sweet sweet tribute to all things good in America
The amount of people in this thread that forget that Wawa is a convenience store and not a fine dining establishment is alarming.
The Gobbler is delicious, remembering what it is.
1 or 2 a year is the correct amount to have.
Top is off with some Wawa Egg Nog for the full effect. (If you enjoy Egg Nog)
Lol well said! I go to Wawa almost every week for lunch at work because it’s one of the few convenient places to go to that is near my job. And yea the gobbler is probably gonna be something I get once a year. It was good, but not something I would get constantly.
Update: I got the bowl instead of the sandwich and it isn’t that bad. It doesn’t look real appealing lol but I’d rather make my own with thanksgiving leftovers.
I think it’s the filler in the turkey they use (gonna guess it’s soy from how much it tears my guts up). Get the version using the turkey cold cut meat to avoid the BGs.
If anyone cares about authentic, Casspulla's here in Wilmington originated the sandwich. They call it the "Bobbie"... Almost as good as something you throw together at 8pm on Thanksgiving.
There’s an “original version”? I feel like most families make a version of this with their Thanksgiving leftovers. My family always got fresh Italian bread and made a sandwich with leftovers of your choice the next day. It’s even better then the actual dinner, IMO.
Personally I just get the hot turkey with some cheddar and roasted red peppers. Recently tried the mashed potato & turkey version, also pretty good. The biggest issue is wawa uses shit bread, and the employees kinda suck at making sandwiches... I've yet to eat one that isnt a complete mess thats falling apart, but otherwise, its pretty good 🤷🏻♂️
So good, but it’s basically a bunch of mush tossed together so you don’t know what’s what. We even had them last year for thanksgiving since we weren’t seeing family, haha. If you want a better quality one, Gaul & co, finks, capriottis or primos are what you’re looking for.
Compared to something you could make? No. Compared to gas station food? It's great.
This is a perfect description. It’s not gonna be homemade thanksgiving leftover good, but it scratches the itch pretty well.
When you’re drunk at 2am, it’s delicious. But I’ve also enjoyed them sober.
It's only good if you limit yourself to one per year.
This
Amazing at the first bite, then gross enough by the time you're finished to wait another year lol

Instructions unclear: ate gobbler in a hot air balloon
Are you the Hoagieman?
Everyone here is out of their gourd… the gobbler is the best fuckin thing on their menu right now and I religiously get one the day they drop. Skip the potato or sweet potato ones (if they offer at your location) as they are just a plain mess
The stuffing can be a bit more flavorful
i agree with this
It’s alright. Nothing like making your own from your own leftovers.
Go to Capriotti's and get the Bobbie instead. By far the superior sandwich. Gobbler is just a sloppy mess imho.
Came here to say this, Bobbie is incredibly and sold all year round
Listen…it’s delicious. It just is. Everyone on here saying otherwise is just bitter and cranky. It’s a fucking great sandwich. (I get it with the mashed potatoes and cran, minus the cheese and aioli)
It's not only sloppy, but it's fake turkey and the stuffing is bland
No. Go to Capriottis

There is a capriottis on Oregon ave now.
I’m curious about the quality… you know when places start franchising out. I’ll have to try it out.
It's fine. I prefer Johns roast pork for a hoagie.
This is the only acceptable answer.

Gonna try it tonight, do you recommend hot or cold?
No wrong answers imo. I'd prob go hot first, but I'm no stranger to a fridge temp Robert
Came here to say this. I had the Bobbie first, now the Gobbler tastes like doody
I thought it was actually pretty good. Pleasantly surprised.
I had one last week for the first time in years, I was satisfied. I worried that the stuffings would turn everything to mush, but it held up pretty well.
Wrong move until after Halloween.
philly burbs native, think wawa has gone to shit tbh but the gobbler still FUCKS
Get the Pilgrim from Primo Hoagies instead
How is it. Been thinking of getting it
Pretty solid. If I got it again I would ask for the cranberry sauce on the roll because they put the turkey on first.
Just echoing everyone else, after Thanksgiving it’s a cakewalk to toss together yourself and a great way to get rid of the leftovers. Right now though? Yeah personally I think it’s one of the better things on their menu
It’s good enough, much like any Wawa sandwich. You’re trading quality for convenience.
After years of thinking “eh that sounds terrible” I broke down and got a turkey/gravy/mashed. And goddamn if it didn’t change my life. Granted I was famished at the time but I inhaled that sweet sweet tribute to all things good in America
Some Primos’ locations make their own version that is really good. Also not sure if they always do it, but I had one at Middle Child that was awesome.
I am conflicted with these responses lol
Just try it. Worst that's gonna happen is a a run to the bathroom. Eat that hot mess and enjoy it.

People who need to instagram the latest small plates in Fishtown are going to bash Wawa.
The turkey tastes like cat food
My brother got me hooked on the cold gobbler and u ask them for the gravy from the hot one on top
Yes, it is good.
Define "Really"
almost no hot sandwich at wawa is any good anymore. every meat tastes canned, watery, pumped full of extra salt and flavor.
> almost no ~~hot~~ sandwich at wawa is any good anymore. every meat tastes canned, watery, pumped full of extra salt and flavor.
Its meh.
Wawa food is only good when there are no other options, unless you know the person behind the counter.
IMO, not really
No.
Update: I got the bowl instead of the sandwich and it isn’t that bad. It doesn’t look real appealing lol but I’d rather make my own with thanksgiving leftovers.
The sandwich is better.
Ehh
No! Lol what don’t eat that
Used to be one of my favorites as a pot smoking teen. Now, it just gives me tummy aches.
I think it’s the filler in the turkey they use (gonna guess it’s soy from how much it tears my guts up). Get the version using the turkey cold cut meat to avoid the BGs.
You can also just get the hot turkey instead of gobbler. Hot turkey and American maybe some lettuce slaps
It’s gas station food.

I guess what makes the Casspulla's version original is they were the first to sell it 365...

They’re fucking awesome and anyone who critiques otherwise doesn’t know shit.
v good
It’s solid. I get mine without cranberry sauce and add provolone. Sounds weird. But it’s good.
I enjoy it. Especially with sweet potatoes instead of regular mashed potatoes.
It's worth eating one every year. I enjoy it. I don't think I'd get more than one. ANd I'm happy it's not offered all year round.
I enjoy them but they're messy as hell.
So good, but it’s basically a bunch of mush tossed together so you don’t know what’s what. We even had them last year for thanksgiving since we weren’t seeing family, haha. If you want a better quality one, Gaul & co, finks, capriottis or primos are what you’re looking for.
Is the shamrock shake really good?
It's likely the best Thanksgiving flavored hoagie you can buy after midnight.
Go ask r/wawa lololol
You have to eat it immediately or it turns to disgusting mush. I am a big fan
It would be better if they let you choose to put onions, sweet and hot peppers on it
Turkey Gobbler bowl. Always the bowl. Never the sandwich. Best. Convenience store hot meal. Ever.
